2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

Is there a way to buy any bottles of the wines that are served in the booths? Also, does Italy sell any bottles of wine that are served in its restaurants? Thanks!
The festival center sells some of the wines from the festival, unsure about the wine from the resturant I know there is a wine vendor in one of the shops.

I did one last year, it was English cheese and beer, which was a little odd at 9 in the morning but turned out to be fun. I thought it was worth the price, we got full pours of the beer, the cheese guy was a little long winded and you couldn't actually buy any of the cheeses we tasted because they were from small dairies in England that only sold there but I had a good time and would gladly do one again if I were going to be there on a Sat.

I found a couple at the Festival Center as well, but the prices practically gave me a heart attack! If you really fall in love with something I'd google up or call your local wine store to find out if they carry the wine and what their price is before paying up at the Festival Center.

At one of the Italian Pairings a few years ago another guest showed me a nice Wine App called Vivino. It allows you to snap a picture of a wine bottle label on your smart phone & you can rate the wine and/or save the info. You need to set up an account on the app in order to use it & save the info. It is a nice little app to use to catalog wines you have tried or are interested in purchasing. It will give you locations where you can purchase what you take pictures of and give you an idea of what the selling price should be.

But if you live in a state with high "sin" taxes the prices really were not shocking. About what I pay at home

This! I paid a lot for some ice wine from Canada only to find out they have the same wine at my local BevMo for a lot less. Live and learn.

My DD works at a winery and belongs to a wine club. We were going through the menus and the wine choices and for many of the wines she said,"You can get that at the supermarket." She was just wondering about being able to buy a few of the varieties- some because she loved the grapes they were made of and others because she knew they weren't easily available.
I am sure she will look everything up online before purchasing! (at least I hope so, but it will be her MB paying for it, not mine) :)

NikkiDP, the times on the website (1:30 to 4:00 for the Wine vs Beer) is the time of the event. It is a sit down event in a part of Via Napoli. Everyone gathers in the courtyard outside the restaurant, checks in, gets a drink of Limoncello. At about 1:30 they open the doors and people go in and find a seat, they will escort you to a table. The host (in the past it has been a Via Napoli manager) gives a welcome, then the sommelier gives a talk about the wines and the beer guy does the same. Some of the servers will then bring out the first course as other servers start to pour the wine and beer. There is one wine and one beer for each course. At the end of the course, there is a (for fun) vote of everyone's preference, wine or beer, with that course. Clear the plates and repeat for 4 more courses. By the end, people are voting for both the wine and the beer and using both hands. That is the short version anyway. It is lots of fun. At about 4:00, you are finished. You are not hungry nor thirsty by the end.

Cool! Thank you so much for all the information. I can only imagine how much fun it is by the end if you have 2 drinks with every meal :drinking1

I wish I knew which drinks were easily available but maybe never looked into and which ones were less available.

I feel like this was such a vital piece of information!! October will be my first time going to Food and Wine and I assumed that the booths would be open with EMH. THANK YOU!
Me too! I can't believe I didn't even think to ask! I added that to my file. :)

Personal preferences really vary in wine and beer, as in food, but I will tell you the ones she is interested in.

As you can see, she seems to prefer white wine. Hopefully, our experienced members of this thread will chime in with their opinions and preferences. I would love to hear what people consider their "must haves" at F&W! :)
