Aarrgghh! Missed it again!!!!!

UPS showed up a few minutes ago and I had to go deal with receiving a bunch of packages. I think I'm cursed to never be here for a pirate! :rotfl2:

We still have over a year Mike, so I would be looking for a good price on a case. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I do love the fact that it's over a year away, and we have maps to all the liquor stores near DL and the port. I need to find one at our first port of call. And maybe the second, and the third, etc.

T.G.I.F.!!!
I am so glad it's Friday. This was a difficult week.
Heading up to Napa Valley on the motorcycle this weekend. The weather will be perfect and I can't wait!

I'm sooo jealous! Have super time.:moped:

Was woken up at 4:45am this morning by an earthquake. It was a 4.2 and centered only about 8-10 miles from me. This one lasted quite a while, 15-20 seconds I'd guess. They are usually shorter than that. So far no reports of damage and if there have been aftershocks, I haven't felt any.

Hope you are ok and that no one got hurt.

I must have slept right through it... Oh well, it was only a little one (good thing)

I found these 2 citations of your model - its' a posting on the Staples clearance sale. I don't know if it is actually your configuration - as I found the same model number associated with HPs - and the HP V6310 seems to have several configurations without changes in the model designation. Maybe I'm mistaken -

When I was sorting through my options I found the convoluted CPU names to be confusing. I finally settled on notebook reviews which sited benchmarks for 3D rendering, floating point calculations (time to find the 2 millionth place of Pi) and so on. And to my mild amazement - I was considering an HP that cost a couple hundred more net - and was originally proced a lot more then the one I finally settled on. Plus it boasted of having an NVIDIA video processor. However- the techs at Best Buy said these were not really seperate boards - even though they had typically 64MB of seperate processing memory for the video. The techs said to get effective 3D game rendering I would need at least 256K of V-ram. I don't know about this except the HP with the NVIDIA with 64K had half the benchmark 3D rendering performance of the Intel intergrated graphics performance (9500) of the cheaper TOshiba I bought. So even before the techs told methis I had discovered this bit of unexpected performance.

Either way - I think the only way to get good 3D game performance is to go for the big expensive gaming notebooks - the $4000 ones. And I don't really value 3D 1st person shooter games like that enough to lust after those machines. The only games I need engage in are the slow strategy games and basic childrens edutainment programs. So - my little cheapie Tishiba should serve well enough.

Mine is the AMD Turion 64 x2 Dual-Core processor. The new CPU configurations are indeed confusing: Dual-core vs. Core Duo One has two processing areas on a single CPU die the other has two separate CPUs on a single CPU die. Oy! It's easier when looking at AMD products (Turion vs. Sempron). I went with the Turion though it technically may be slower than the Sempron configuration because the Turion will have more horsepower when I need to start running the Visual Studio development suite, Office 2007 and Sony's streaming video editor (all at the same time of course since I'm too lazy to shut things down ;)).

I don't play computer games enough to warrant paying $4000 for a sweet gaming laptop like Asus or Dell XPS. Maybe if I win the Powerball :thumbsup2

I just heard from my Cardiologist on my Stress Test....I Passed!!!:cool1: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :cool1: There was a small abnormality but he isn't too concerned about it,could have been a shadow. Supposed to keep doing what I'm doing. I was so afraid they'd find something, that's the kind of luck we've been having lately.

Thank you for all of the well wishes :grouphug: prayers  and pixiedust:
I truly believe that it made a difference.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

He's adorable.

Super cute! I think the tiny crocs are cute - while the ones I and DS8 wear are rather ugly. BUT, oh so comfortable!

My DS started wearing crocs soon after I did (at least 1.5 years ago) and I have pretty much quit buying him sandals, flip flops or even as many pairs of gym shoes - the kid lives in his crocs! I have talked to other parents who have the same phenomena - what's the point getting them other shoes if they'll only wear crocs day in and day out? :rotfl2:

He is very annoyed that he HAS to wear gym shoes to day camp this week and as soon as he gets home he switches to a pair of crocs.

So, since you are starting him young - I forsee a LOT of crocs in your future!

Pamela (pdarrah)

Well his shoe fetishness goes beyond the Crocs...he likes ALL shoes! You should see him when we go into Stride-Rite or Payless, he starts pulling his shoes off because he knows (assumes) that we're shoe shopping for him! And when I was at Dillard's looking at some Eccos that were on clearance, again, he starts taking his shoes off because he needs to try on a few pairs! Oy! :sad2: I don't think that addage that boys are cheaper than girls holds true for this new generation! :hippie:

And if he does start liking Crocs over all others, at least there are plenty of *gasp* generic versions out there! :rolleyes1

Great news! (BTW, Crash was right in his prediction regarding your results . . . let's hope he is also predicting a great cruise next year with no hurricanes . . .)

T.G.I.F. Everyone!!!

Monica - didn't feel the quake over here - it was just a small one fortunately. Have fun in Napa - what about a mud bath in Calistoga?
Melissa & Jack are here - they said to say "hi"!!! They're spending some time visting w/grandma - we're going over to S.F. today.
Jack & I are going to take the dogs to the dog park right now.

Hope everyone has a wonderfu weekend!

That does not bother us. I heard that all of the Sushi restaurants are air conditioned. :rotfl: Going from casino to casino is the only time you are outside. We love to go to Vegas for our escapes because it has so much to do and we don't really gamble.

Roger that! :thumbsup2

Plus you have the free valet and garage parking everywhere so the car will be in the shade and even if you are walking on The Strip, there's always the people movers to take you from the street and into, say, Ceasar's Palace under a covered canopy with misters.

When we do have to be outside it won't be for long, until evening when the temp drops to the mid 80s.

:woohoo:  :woohoo:

Yay! But doesn't failing a cardiac test mean you're already dead? :lmao:

Just don't go harming your liver by celebrating with too many drinks at happy hour! :teeth:

Where is everyone:confused3

Darn the life of a public servant.

I had an emergency crisis and actually needed to do some work to fix it or else some poor over age 60 person couldn't settle on their brand new $600,000 Condo this afternoon.

Pity.....:rolleyes1

Oh the humanity.... They might have had to wait 3 more days to settle.
