Beaver tails are GONE!

I tried these last year thanks to the DIS and loved them... I got mine with hot cinnamon apples, now I'll never be able to have one there again... no more Illuminations while eating a Beaver Tail.

We stopped by the booth to check out the new "menu" - I noticed that the wine glasses they had were the same ones as the Food and Wine Festival. Has anyone had the wine here yet? If it's $8.50 for a "Food and Wine Festival" pour, or $8.50 for a regular pour in the restaurant, I know what I'm going to pick!

I must be the only one that didn't like the BTs. My son and I share a strawberry one back in the April. The topping was great, but the dough didn't taste good at all. I figured it would have been better if it was fried.

You're not the only one I didn't like them either. I was really looking forward to trying one and when I did I was so disappointed, I took one bite and passed it on to DH.

We went in October and didn't really care for the Beaver Tails either. We all agreed that they would have been a lot better if they were fresh and not pulled out of a box and heated up! At least the Funnel Cakes at Epcot are actually fresh, because some places (including Disneyland) use the premade ones. Yuck!

I haven't been able to get a Bevertail on our last two trips. Every time we were in Epcot the kiosk was closed.

I know my boys would love to try a Tim Horton donut.

she also said she couldn't believe how many people were asking for them!

We were there last week and I was one of the people asking. Maybe if enough do, they will make a come back.

Well, I guess if you want beavertails, you are all going to just have to come up to Canada. To be fair, Tim Horton's is a much better representation of Canada. Tim Horton's is sorta like Dunkin Donuts....a cheap donut chain named after the hockey player. Many Canadians are addicted to their coffee and there are a lot A LOT of these stores in Canada. In the little city I come from there are 13 Tim Horton's including one in the hospital. There's only 30,000 people in the entire city.

I agree first thing I saw after crossing border in Winsor was a Tim's. Do yours still have blueberry and Cherry Timbits? I miss those

I don't think they are still around. Sorry. :guilty:

We also asked a CM next to the beaver tail stand and she told us the bad news. She commented that 100's of people have been asking about the beaver tails. Now we need to hunt for a good replacement snack in Epcot. Any ideas?

Have you ever had the school bread at Norway?

do they still have unibroue?

Honestly, until I came to WDW I had never heard of Beavertails, and Ilive like about 15 mins from Ontario so the fact that they aren't there anymore is no big loss to me.

Now if they could put a Tim Horton's there... YUM. That would be a nice taste of home while on vacation.

You know Canada is a lot bigger than Ontario. ;) There are lots of Beavertails across this great land but Tim Hortons is definitely more widespread and a large part of Canadian culture.

Thanks Ali,

I would have never known Canada was more than Ontario. I'm glad you enlighted me.

Everyone don't be sad I heard that there going to put in a Tim Hortons in there instead. Now I can't wait for that. I lose my Timmy's in Michigan until I return back home every trip.

I'm waiting for the TIM HORTONS:earseek: :earseek:

WOW, I hope that is more then a rumor! I also hope they have it in before our January trip. My wife moved down from Canada to SC and she misses her Tim Hortons almost as much as she misses her family.

We talked to a waitress CM at Le Cellier about the beaver tails and she said that they are gone forever and it was because whoever was leasing the stand wasn't keeping the quality at what it needed to be for Disney standards. She said that the beaver tails from the stand were horrible and nothing like what they should be.

She said that they went away and the stand will be selling pretzel bread now.

I was disappointed because I had never tried a beaver tail before. Oh well. Maybe someday they'll find a replacement vendor for the beaver tails.

They really did go downhill, once they stopped making them fresh, I didn't really want one anymore anyway, so you weren't missing anything...now if they were still making them fresh, that is a different story!!

Pretzel bread...mmmmm
We ate at Le Cellier our last day and I asked the waitress to pack some up for the trip home, she gave us 4 sticks (2 each) I ate mine but mom didn't want hers (she was still full after 5 hours!) so I gave them to my DH when he picked us up from the airport...he loved them!

I tried the pretzel breadsticks from the former beavertail stand on our trip. They were a big hit with me and the kids!
