a few years ago dh got me some circa '90's issues of the old 'weekly world news'. the number of 'new' conspiracy theories i see posted on social media that are the same insane stuff they reported on back then is insane (as some of the key named political players have died they've been swapped out by current day players).

Also the Titanic wasn't the actual ship that sank but was actually its sister ship, The Olympic which is just...strange

I can't get into all of her faulty logic and reasons (more controversial topics board material), but I had a coworker that believed space is fake. We're Houston area and she was furious that any sort of tax dollars and public resources went to fund NASA/Johnson Space Center. I kind of wish we were on the same team when they flew Space Shuttle Endeavor over Houston for its retirement flight path across the country. I would have loved to have gotten a good lecture before we all crowded the windows to watch.

On a related note, I've encountered quite a few people who have a wide array of conspiracy theories about the moon landing coverage being fake. The why's and how's vary.
