Day 7 & 8 Part 4
We made our way to Soarin and believe it or not, we waited 30 minutes for this ride. This was the ONLY ride during our seven days that we had to wait so long. Thats not bad at all considering we never used fast passes either! Anyhow, Soarin was breathtaking and definitely a must for anyone who loves the Disney magic
Imagination with Figment was okay, probably wouldnt do it again. Then we watched Honey I Shrunk The Audience, which was a big hit with JoJo and Goofy. The special effects were amazing, like snake and the rats running loose!
After that we stopped to watch the fireworks. What a way to end our last evening in WDW. It was spectacular.
We didnt have much time left so we wandered through the Worlds as quickly as we could and I now regret not having went during the day. From what I have read, we missed way too much here but thats okay were going back!
We stopped at Mexico, China, Norway and Germany. I really enjoyed looking through the store in Germany. I picked up a Christmas advent calendar for myself because I hadnt seen one in years. My relatives from Germany used to send us one each year when we were kids and it brought back memories of my brother and I sharing the opening of the windows. Ive continued the tradition with the girls but here, its the chocolate calendars and just isnt the same. However, when Christmas came this year, JoJo and Goofy preferred the chocolate one to the new one. That was fine with me because I didnt have to share it and enjoyed seeing the new surprise picture each day during the month of December. I also picked up a Christmas plaque for my Mother-In-Law from Norway. I knew shed love it because her grandmother was Norwegian.
We made our way back out but stopped at one last store near the entrance as this was my last chance to spend the rest of my money in one of the parks. I wanted a sweatshirt and I found a cute black Tinkerbelle hoody. Prince Grumpy was relieved I managed to find one so quickly.
The four of us were quiet on our ride back to the hotel. I guess we were all reflecting on our magical vacation and how much it meant to all of us.
Morning came quickly. We woke up around 7, finished packing and headed to the resort store to use up our remaining 13 snack credits. The girls picked out the big suckers and things for their friends back home. They also finished up their arcade cards and turned in their tickets for some prizes.
DH was doing his own thing but later surprised me in the room with a WDW scrapbook. He must have been watching me checking them out during our stay and never said a word. Hes such a sweetheart.
The four us changed into the jeans we arrived in and went to wait for the Magical Express Bus. Man it was hot in jeans but knew wed need them once we arrived in Canada. Turns out we were in the wrong location for the bus and realized it just in time.
The flight back was uneventful and going through customs at home only took 10 minutes in comparison to 30 minutes or more in Orlando. Nana and Poppy were waiting for us and brought us back to their place for a wonderful spaghetti dinner. We gave them their trinkets, put the dog in the truck and headed home.
It saddens me to say that this will be my last trip report. Ive been putting it off far too long and its time to say good-bye to this one. Ive met many friends during my trip report writing experience and even more on the community boards. The DIS helped me through a very troubling year and Im thankful to have found a place here.
Whatever type of experience you are looking for: new memories waiting to be made, a trip down memory lane, or new adventures to share, a vacation to WDW will definitely take you there. Visiting WDW provided us with the opportunity to experience all the magic Id dreamed of for years. Everyday in WDW finds a reason to become special whether it is the characters you meet, the rides you take or the fabulous dining experiences. This was the trip of a lifetime for us and will never be forgotten. That being said, the four of us are looking forward to our trip back this summer!!!!!
