Concerns about the ART? Should we do Uber instead?

If you didn't have the carseat/booster seat situation and kids then I would say Uber/Lyft, but personally dealing with the hassle of the carseat/booster situation, it's just easier to do ART.
The OP only has one booster and it will be a portable/foldable/travel one (which can fit in a tote bag), so there really shouldn't be any problems with using Uber/Lyft. A previous poster in this thread confirmed that she has the same travel booster and has no problems using Uber with it.

We have used ART on every trip and have never had a problem. It does get full at the end of the night but we’ve always managed to squeeze on. I’ve also had plenty of good experience with the drivers- sharing tips on route information for coming back after the park, general advice, etc. I’ve never understood the bad reviews about them because we’ve always had good experiences. Maybe I’m lucky?

We just stayed at this exact hotel two weeks ago & used ART for 2 out of our 3 days & it worked out pretty well for us.:) I would say that if you were trying to make a early Magic Morning at Disneyland that starts at 7am you probably won’t make it for rope drop at the start. It’s supposed to start picking up an hour & 45 mins before regular park opening which is 6:15am but on our last day which was a Saturday(also an MM early day but we used ours earlier on our trip on Thursday)the ART didn’t show up at 6:15 at all & so when we were there for pickup at 6:45 the bus was pretty full after our stop but luckily it was the only one so we had no problems getting on. Basically I would Uber/Lyft if you want/need to be theee very early for MM otherwise ART works great! You do have to fold your strollers & at night the #12 bus route can get really, really full after fireworks/WOC shows. The bus drivers really cram everyone in! Let me know if you have other questions!

Thanks for chiming in! We decided we'll do Uber instead of the ART, it's cheaper and we don't want to be confined to the ART schedule. On another note though, how did you like the Staybridge?

We have used ART every time we have gone and it has always been fine going to the park. The only issue we have had is at the end of the night the bus can be PACKED. Otherwise it has been fine.

I think you made a wise choice about using Uber for this trip. Given your daughter's special needs, it concerns me to think about her dealing with a possibly packed shuttle on the ride back to the hotel after a long day in the parks. Maybe if you do a return trip to DLR, after you know the lay of the land and know the ropes, ART might be fine. But for this trip, making things as easy as possible for your family (and for your sanity!) just sounds better.

Good choice with Uber/Lyft! We did that one day where hubby dropped us off then he took a Lyft back to the parks.:) The ART worked better for us because we were a big group of 10(4 adults & 6 kids ages 4-16)& we would have needed two Lyfts to get there plus 2 booster seats for my youngest kiddos! As for Staybridge we liked it a lot except for how far away it is from the parks but this was a last minute trip! We had 2 two bedroom suites for our group right by each other on the top floor & there was lots of space. The breakfast is great but wish they had earlier hours so we could have used it on all our park days. On weekdays it’s open at 6:30am but on weekends it doesn’t open until 7:30am & we are ripe drop get there early kind of people. Luckily I had brought frozen breakfast sandwiches & other food to eat for those mornings. Let me know if you have any other specific questions & have so much fun!

We used ART for both our trips a couple years back and never had an issue. There was a couple times it seemed to be running late, which was annoying, but didn't ruin our day. There was never a time it was so full we had to wait for another one.

This time, there will be 6 of us including an infant/stroller. That seems like a pain to deal with on ART, but with Uber/Lyft, I'd have to deal with his seat instead of just the stroller. Decisions, decisions....

What is the average cost for an Uber/Lyft that fits 6?

Oh, ok, NBD that makes sense then...I just didn't see anything in the OP about them having special needs child. :)

Ok thank you! We are only doing Disney on the weekdays so breakfast won't be an issue with getting to the parks early. I wish it was closer to the parks too, but we also booked last minute and it was a great deal! If we ever go back we will probably look at staying a bit closer, but using Uber will be like having a personal escort to the parks which is the next best thing! I am glad my DH doesn't have to drive a lot this time (we rented a car on our last trip and he drove 30 minutes every morning to the parks!). Thanks for the help!

Yes, I agree I just can't see that going well for us at the end of the night!

No worries! the luckyrabbit has helped me with some of my other questions regarding my autistic daughter, so she knows about her through other posts.
