Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

Drones are a nice addition and possible enhancement but neither come close to replacing fireworks. Am I smelling cost cutting?

That worries me as well, but for AK I'm completely fine with it-especially compared to nothing.

As for Universal, I'm fine with that as well since we usually don't stay into the evening-but would to check this out. Epic has a fireworks area I believe, so will be interesting if 2 parks will have a night show or what they are planning.

Lion King Ride in Disneyland Paris?

A Dutch Themepark website announced tonight that Disneyland Paris will replace the plans for Star Wars land with a Lion King water ride.

Originally we would be getting Galaxy's Edge in Paris, however after the reviews from WDW and DL were less glowing than Disney had hoped, this idea got scratched.

Disneyland Paris has no water rides, no Splash Mountain or something similar. So, on hot days, no place to cool off. Most likely the ride will have to close during winter, as most water rides in Western European themeparks do.

1709513362861.png

Construction on the Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort is continuing full steam ahead. On our most recent trip, we noted some impressive progress on the new restaurant, including new walls and windows being installed.

The section of the Cake Bake Shop with the tower will be the restaurant section, while the area that has yet to fully have the exterior wall paneling fully installed will be the home to the bakery section. There have been additional walls and windows installed behind the construction walls on the bakery section, while all of the windows have been installed on the restaurant side.

Great news for all of the adventurers heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom-Dug and Russell from the Disney/Pixar film Up are once again greeting guests at the Wilderness Explorers Club House.

The Dug and Russell Meet and Greet is a fun and popular character interaction that takes place on Discovery Island. The Meet and Greets had been temporarily suspended for a short time, but we are happy to report that they are back!
Times for the Dug and Russell meet and greet can be found daily on the MyDisneyExperience app. Both characters greet guests together, and are generally available throughout the day at the Wilderness Explorers Club House, which can be found across from the Discovery Island Trading Company.

I had booked both breakfast and dinner for my trip next month, figuring I'd see which menu I liked better and cancel the other, and after seeing them both I may actually keep both, LOL!

Nope! I was not right at 6, and can’t get a good time for dinner in late April…. Also I think the characters are lovey, I do think it’s sad to take away the stepsisters but change is ok…. Or at least I keep telling myself

Ahsoka, Andor and The Mandalorian Inspire New Star Tours Adventures
1709651614286.png

Over the years, we’ve been working hard to keep our Star Wars experiences in Disney Parks evolving alongside that expanding galaxy far, far away. That is also part of what makes Star Tours – The Adventures Continue so special. So now, I am excited to share that, starting April 5, 2024, at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be taking you on some all-new adventures. These new additions will feature characters and locations from some of your favorite Disney+ new series – “Ahsoka,” “Andor,” and “The Mandalorian.”

With these additions, you’ll now have an opportunity to experience one of more than 250 storyline variations aboard the attraction, including a visit to the planet Peridea from the Ahsoka series. Urgent transmissions from Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, Din Djarin and Grogu may soon be part of your next Starspeeder flight. These iconic characters will continue to add to the galaxy of stories aboard Disney’s first Star Wars attraction.

We're going in September so hopefully demand will have died down a fair bit by then.
