A friend of mine from a Disney in August group on Facebook checked into the Polynesian today and was given a room on the third floor of Samoa, overlooking the former east pool, and you can see right into the construction area. She posted a picture from her balcony. Just looks like a huge area of dug-up ground right now.
I think even from the second you can look right in

The scrim is right near the building. First floor on that side would look at scrim

Yuck

I've been trying to do the touring plans request thing. I want Fiji, 3rd floor. I can't seem to get it to work. It keeps recommending Tokelau. Anyone have any pointers?

It didn't recommend anything when I did it. The only I know to do it you pick the room you want off the Room Finder and click Fax Request right from there. When TP generated the fax (which you can then edit) the room info was filled in with the room I told it to go by.

Here's the room I was in on their room finder. I clicked where is shows "here" and it populated the requested with the text in blue on the bottom left of the image

If you want Fiji and 3rd floor just call and have that added to your reservation. Even if they do read the faxes, they definitely do not hold more weight than a phoned in request. Then you don't have to worry about making it work via touring plans.

Oh yeah, one other thing - hula lessons. Where and when?

From the August Activities Calendar.

Celebrate Polynesian Culture
Resort Lobby – Tuesday through Saturday. No registration required.
3:45pm – Hula Dance Lessons

I got it to work and set up my room request fax. Thanks!

Hi! Can anyone tell me what the hours are for the lobby concierge at the Poly? We will be arriving around 8:30 pm on September 4th and we have some issues with our tickets that can only be handled in person at Guest Relations. We are hoping to hit HS at 8 AM the next morning, so we would like to take care of it Friday night. Would Downtown Disney be a better option? Does anyone know their hours?

You can hop the monorail and go over to the ticket window at MK for any ticket issues but I think the front desk can handle 95% of the problems.

Are you staying DVC? Tokelau (our favorite building) is now DVC only.

We're going to Poly in two weeks. I requested Niue - 1st or 3rd floor. Taking the construction on the quiet pool into consideration, should I change my request? I have no idea what to request instead? TIA

We leave tomorrow for our first stay at the Ploy!!! So excited!!! :woohoo:

We are leaving tomorrow too! So excited. Safe travels

We leave for Orlando tomorrow too. But we are arriving in the evening so we are staying at the MCO Hyatt and taking a car service to the Poly on Sunday morning. We should be getting there around 7:30am. SO excited!!

Have a great trip!

I requested Fiji 3rd floor, but I considered Samoa, lava pool side. There's also a building that begins with an A (I think!) that had a cool view of the monorail and a good, central location. I have a Standard View booked.

Well, we moved over to the Poly CL this morning from our CL stay at CR and sadly, we are not impressed so far. Our check-in had to be the worst in all of our trips for many reasons but in a nutshell we were never greeted by a CL CM and even after we approached the front desk and the CM scanned our bands, he proceeded to check us in himself which was painful to say the least. By the time he was done he handed us a map and we were left to go find the Hawaii bldg. ourselves. Not a great way to start but whatever we find the bldg pretty easy. We get to the bldg and only one of our bands worked to open the door...CM's inside were literally watching each of us try our bands and didn't bother getting up. Last band worked we walk in and tell them it was our first stay in CL and they asked us why no one escorted us in...being a little annoyed at the process so far, I pretty much told them it was a question I hoped they could answer. At this point they started working on the bands and ask if we had any questions...really?? How about letting us know if our room was ready, explaining where the lounge is, forget showing us, but but at least point us in the right direction...it's been all downhill ever since.

I was so worried about the view we were going to get because because of construction...well, let's just say that our 2nd room (yes, I said 2nd room) is on the 3rd floor and thanks to a massive tree we have in front of our balcony, the view is just fine and we haven't been bothered by noise at all. Service and interaction with CM's here so far, on the hand, including the CL CM's, haven't been good at all and I am comparing to all the other CL stays we've had thus far. Really hoping tomorrow is a better day!!!
