In 1976, I traveled to the Magic Kingdom with my parents and younger siblings. It was the bicentennial year, and I have a distinct memory of Mickey, Goofy and Donald, representing the "Spirit of 1776" painting, leading a Main Street parade.
OMG YES. I had forgotten about this but I just knew I loved the Coral Reef whenever I went. This is what I used to have there lol.I still mourn the removal of Coral Reef's Blackened Catfish - served over pepper jack cheese grits, with smoked tomato compote, balsamic glaze. Why??? The catfish are farmed in the Land Pavilion right there (sniff).
this too! molded butter was so disney! When the butter was served at TS restaurants it was shaped like Mickey or Spaceship Earth I think in Epcot
yes, plastic cheese. for me it was my favorite thing about pecos bills. I loved to sit there in the outside-in setting of the old west dipping my fries in ooey gooey unhealthy plastic cheese. siiiiiigh.DD has been lamenting the loss of the fake cheese sauce from Cosmic Ray's and other places.
yes, I used to love those too!LTT used to have crabcakes appetizer (sigh)
A moment of silence for the loss of the crabcakes....
I still remember when Cinderella's Royal Table was King Stefan's, and they had an amazing prime rib dinner. Dessert was a choice of two types of crepes. I always got the chocolate one with a mint cream filling, topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. We actually bought a crepe maker to try to replicate it..... came close but it was never quite the same. That meal and especially the desert was a must do for every trip during my childhood.
Thiiiiiiiis. I miss it so much. Back when it first opened it was a Scandinavian buffet and the selection was fabulous. Lefse, mashed rutabega, smoked fish...
Beaver Tail!
Fortunately, I'm going to be in Banff in 12 days and the Beaver Tail shop on Banff Avenue is definitely on our agenda.
