***Holiday Recipe Sent/Received***...COMPLETED!!

I see I wasn't the only one having a horrible time finding Christmas stuff. Ugh, I was getting so frustrated. Seemed like the only things I could find were Halloween related, with a bit of "Harvest stuff" thrown in. This was the first time I have ever joined you gals with this, so this year I'm planning ahead!!!

I will stock up on Christmas stuff this year and will be all ready to make a slammin box next year!!!!!! :rotfl2:

I was surprised how difficult it was to find Christmas things. I stopped in Marshall's and hit the jackpot :thumbsup2. Every other store had Halloween and Thanksgiving but no Christmas.

Cinnamon Sugar Butter Cookies

Recipe By :Mrs. Fields Cookie Book
Serving Size : 36 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Cookies

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
Topping
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Cookies
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup unsalted butter -- softened
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
In a small bowl combine sugar and cinnamon for topping. Set aside.
In a medium bowl combine flour, soda and salt. Mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.
In a large bowl blend sugars with an electric mixer set on medium speed.
Add butter, and mix to form a grainy paste. Scrape sides of bowl, then add eggs and vanilla. Mix at medium speed until light and fluffy.
Add flour mixture and blend at low speed just until blended. Do not overmix.
Shape dough into 1" balls and roll each ball in cinnamon-sugar topping.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets, 2 " apart.
Bake for 18-20 minutes. Immediately transfer cookies with a spatula to a cool, flat surface.

It has been a HUGE hit everywhere I've taken it :thumbsup2

Sausage and cranberry quiche
Prep time 20 minutes cook time 35-40 minutes

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 lb Bob Evans Original or Savory Sage roll sausage
¼ cup chopped onion
¾ cup dried cranberries
1 ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
5 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups half and half

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Spray 9” square baking pan with non stick spray
Unfold puff pastry and line baking pan. Press firmly ion place, then set aside
Crumble sausage and onion in medium skillet over medium heat until sausage is browned. Remove skillet from heat
Sprinkle cheese on bottom of pan.
Top evenly with sausage and cranberries.
Combine eggs and half and half in bowl; whisk until blended.
Pour egg mixture over sausage and cranberries in pan.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean

Baked Chocolate Covered Cherries

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter -- softened
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup oatmeal
36 maraschino cherries -- drained
6 ounces melted semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350º.
Sift flour and salt together. Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add the flour mixture and mix well.
Mix in the oats. Dough will be stiff.
Shape 1 tablespoon dough around each cherry. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
Bake about 25 minutes or until golden. Cool. Dip the tops in melted chocolate.

Yay! I'm so glad the package arrived!!! I included the pudding and the toffee bits so y'all could try the gingerbread trifle! It's a "must have" for my Christmas Day dinner!!! So yummy!!!

All the recipes are very easy to make and don't require hard to find ingredients. Just right for a beginning cook/baker!
