Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

So I am staying at AKL-Jambo House October 26 to Nov. 1.
The construction is concerning to me.
Staying in a standard view King. Does anyone have any pics of a king stand are view?
I’m wondering if so should switch resorts due to the construction. I really want to stay here.

We stayed a couple of weeks ago. Construction was supposed to be done on Kudu trail, but we had horrible construction noise from the presidential suite above us. While I still think it was an error that should've never been allowed to happen- totally preventable- they did do right by us in way of compensation. If you really want to stay, I'd go for it. They are not telling guests that construction may impact their stay so if it does, you are entitled to compensation and they seem more than willing to do whatever they can to fix it. Had I known what was going to happen on our trip, I would've stayed there anyway. They made it right in the end. I'd make my request that you want as far away from any construction as possible and hope for the best knowing that they will do what's needed if there's an issue.

Hello! We are staying at AKL Jambo Dec 29 - Jan 4th--first time in AKL and we're excited. I've been reading up on the renovations and wondering if all the new rooms have showers only? We'll be traveling with my young daughter who does baths only, and by the end of the year, I'm assuming most of the rooms will already be renovated. Will we have a bath option?

I tried to call in for a partial savannah view yesterday and the cm said that I would have to upgrade. I’m a little frustrated and it’s the one time I’m not asked to take a survey. Is it better to call again or have my husband fax it in?

Do you have a standard view and you're just making a room request? If so, I'm assuming the CM misunderstood you and thought you were requesting a savannah view. Did you question them as to why you would need to upgrade for a room request that is possible? The CM just wasn't clear on what you wanted. I wouldn't ding them with a bad review over a simple mistake that is easily cleared up.

We will be staying AKV-Jambo Jan 8-Jan 13 for Marathon Weekend!

I look forward to keeping up with the renovations on this board. If anything, maybe we will get an upgrade if our villa is in one of those sections they can't use! Stay positive, right?? This is our absolute favorite resort and we can't wait for our "Welcome Home"!

We will be staying at AKL Kidani Villas 8/25/19 - 9/1/19. This will be our first time staying at AKL and in DVC. We have a Savanna view studio booked. Are there paper or plastic cups in the DVC studios or just real glasses? Trying to figure out everything we need to bring. Thank you.

We will be at the lodge in January next year. Sadly it's just for 2 nights 17th and 18th but hopefully we'll be back in October for 2 whole weeks Yaaay

We have a couple breakfast reservations at MK--one at 8:40am at The Plaza & one at 8:35am at BOG--and I'm wondering about travel time and arrival into MK before it opens for these restaurants.

If you wanted to be at the restaurant at 8:30am, what time would you leave AKL to get there? I'm not sure the timing on the buses as we've never stayed at AKL before.

We checked in a few days ago. My request was higher room and newly refurbished. We’re in 4392. We were disappointed at first because we’re at the dead end of things and the view isn’t the greatest. But there’s a feeder right outside, so I had hopes we’d see animals.

The first photo was taken a few minutes ago. The second was before the feed trucks came around.

It’s very quiet over here and the only signs of construction are when we get to the elevator which takes you down to the pool area (it lets out near the old Simba’s Cubhouse, which they must use now for the crafts.

Savannah view. I’ve had better Savannah views, but we did get a refurbished room, which is very nice. There’s not a ton of drawer space, but I like having room under the bed for luggage and I think carpet is just gross.
