Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Hi everyone! I’m just venturing back to this thread after multiple postponed trips. Come hell or high water I will be there with my family October 19-22 in a 1 BR Kidani savanna view before transferring to Beach Club Villas.
My question, without digging back too far into the thread, is are the showers open at the Samawati Springs pool? We have a very early arrival flight and we’re planning on a pool and Disney Springs day with no real hope of getting into our room at a reasonable time I think showers were closed for a time but recently started reopening at other resorts. Thanks!

We're at Jambo for Oct 2-4, and then over to Kidani from Oct 4 - 7. So really get to compare the rooms and locations!
Got Boma reservations, but honestly I an angsty about whether or not it's worth it's price with picky eaters?

Anyone have pictures of views from standard view? We are staying there in October and have stayed savanna view

This was our standard view at Jambo in a 2 bedroom villa. We've always been lucky enough to get the view of the people pen when we book standard view at Jambo.

Have all of the Jambo rooms been renovated?

Not sure but we literally left on 8/25 (checked out a full two days early of DVC rented points losing $ because there was constant drilling on both sides of our room and 8/25 we were all told the night before that they would be testing fire alarms from noon to 3pm and on day of checkin 8/23 our fire alarm was going off every ten minutes so we had to get out of the room that day as well…..total waste. Maybe that was all to get ready for the lodge reopen?

Add a request to your reservation for a partial savannah view. A lot of the standard rooms have them. Much better than a parking lot or roof view.

We were at AKL on Friday the 20th and they were testing the alarms as well- my stepdad spoke with one of the managers and they said they had to test the alarms in every room on the non-DVC floors before they could be occupied.

I'm trying to get my head wrapped around bus transportation from jambo. We got reservations at ohana at 6pm Sunday but no rental car.

Would it make sense to do the following?
Jambo to Poly - take AK Park bus, transfer to Poly bus
Poly to Jambo - take EP Park bus (open for extra evening hours), transfer to jambo bus. I was thinking transfer at MK but we'll be dealing with crowds at end of night. Our plan was to watch fireworks at poly before we take off.

Or kill all this and take uber/lyft?
