Love those 80's!

TCD...I dont remember the SHOWTIME aerobic chic's name, as a matter of fact..Im not sure it was ALWAYS the same girl....I remember the set was all white and the "star" was usually in a contrasting outfit to stand out....the angles the camera would use were pretty much styled in PORNO MODE, and the fade in/fade outs seemed to try to make the sessions have a soft romantic look...yes, Im talking about a work out show..not Debbie Does Dallas!!!

I do remember being hopelessly in love with Kathy Smith..my fat butt would sit and watch her workout for 20 minutes a day while I sat on the couch eating pop-rocks and drinking Dr Pepper!!

Tamilee Webb was another tight one to watch...shes still selling buns and abs of steel videos!

It was one of my favorite shows...I could relate SO WELL to this show....I WAS A FAT KEVIN ARNOLD!!! I had one mean big brother, another older sibling who wasnt around much..but was very "hippy-ish and cool", and the crush on the girl who was way out of my league...the dorky best friend whose name was PAUL!!! I loved this show.

I loved that show, too. I always hoped that the end would wrap everything up with Kevin and Winnie living happily ever after. I remember watching the finale (as I think about it, wasn't this more recently than the 80's?), and being disappointed that Kevin and Winnie did not have a future together.

TCD.....I think this was the opening shot of that SHOWTIME aerobics show...
20minttl.jpg

It ran from 82-83 on showtime...not alot of info on the web about it!!!

While on the Fitness girls kick...how could I have forgotten Kiana Tom...from ESPN's Body Shapers and Kiana's Flex Appeal???

ooooooooo.....good one...21 Jumpstreet. Johnny Depp was in "Benny & Joon" with MSM & Quin!!!!

Bosom Buddies was Tom's big break into becoming a household name!! Hmmm....I have no memory of the other guys name...although, I do remember him starring in some minor roles in other unmemorable movies and shows.

Well done! Not many people remember Benny and Joon. I show it to my psych students every semester and they're always surprised that there is a Johnny Depp movie that they've never seen.:confused3

Well earned bragging rites to you! :cool2:

Yes, Three's Company spun off The Ropers but it also spun off Three's A Crowd. At least I believe it should be a spin off, it continued where Three's Company left off.

Here's a head scratcher: Which TV show had a character named Stringfellow? :scratchin

I remember a show with Jan-Michael Vincent who played a character named Stringfellow. Dang!!! I can't recall the name of the show though. DH was into it more than I was. OH YEAH!!! Airwolf??? I had the "hots" for JMV! What woman didn't???

It ran from 88-93

I enjoyed the Wonder Years. It started in the late 80's, but the time frame was late 60's to early 70's. I remember thinking that Kevin Arnold was about a year older than I was during that same time period. It was very true to what those times were really like. Jr. High (not middle school then:laughing: )....ultimately high school, and the Viet Nam War. I remember being a kid and the older kids protesting..and the high school kids walking out of school. Just like Kevin's older sister on the show.

I'm glad to see something I finally remember. The 80's were such a blur for me. Not the way you younger guys spent them:drinking1 ... I was busy having babies, ( although we saved one for the 90's! ). I think I spent all my time with baby puke on my shoulder...and Sesame Street.

Ahh..the memories..:crazy2:

If I am remembering right, it was not the same girl, and sometimes, there was more than one girl working out (oh boy). I saw the photo you posted about the 20 minute workout, but that is not it. The show I am thinking of came on it between programs, and only lasted a few minutes. Your description is about the cinematography is right on. I'll bet there are some clips on You Tube, but I can't remember the name of the show.

The next time I talk to my brother, I will ask him. I am sure he remembers this- we sure watched it enough!

Boy..he turned out to have very serious drug and alcohol problems.
I do remember he was very EASY on the eye though.

I remember it well....and I remember my dad ranting about what a **** Joe must be....my dad wasnt what one would call politically correct!!!

I know this is a "remember the 80's" thread.... but this one just has to be included in the mix....

1974 commercial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf3oOQq9KFU&feature=related

I certainly was around at the time- but I am not sure that I ever saw this commercial before now.

Joe Namath is one messed-up individual. Have some self respect, man.

I wonder what the reaction would be if a current NFL star filmed a commercial like this?

I don't think it would ever happen.
