If you have a phone number issue (which is only with Kessel), delete it all, inlcuding any _____, then manually type it in. Do not use your autofill. Hopefully, they'll fix this issue. But, you don't have to put the 1 space, etc. like many people posted, you just need to delete any _____ basically.
has anyone been contacted by phone yet to clear this up after registering for both separately?I made the Kessel Run challenge mistake. Called RunDisney and they said to register for the Kessel and someone would get in contact to do a refund, that's fine. I chose Light Side, since I did everything Dark Side this year. Can't wait to see what the differences are
Make sure you get your hotel figured out ASAP - the first week of April is spring break week for a lot of schools!
Indeed, this is the only reason I can make this work. It's spring break for my wife. (We have our room set already; that was actually the impetus. "Hey, we've got some DVC points left over, let's do a running trip.")
I hope there are rooms left on Tuesday. Not a DVC member. I'm waiting to make sure I can sign up for the 10k before booking the hotel.
@cavepig Thanks for those screen shots! Also, it is my understanding that after I've signed myself up for the Kessel, I'll have to get back in the queue to sign my family & I up for the 5K?
If it thought you were another country then yeah it was wanting the 1, I forgot to add that, but as long as it thought you were US it didn't need it. So, if you changed country to something other than US, than back to US it should have fixed it. Like, even if it had US defaulted, it wasn't picking up that unless it got changed specifically back to it, a weird glitch yes. This was not true for me. I needed to have the 1-space in front. The error occurred on both my auto-filled phone number, and my manually-typed-in "emergency contact" phone number. It was not just an autofill issue. I tried 4 different web browsers.
Just throwing this out there in case anyone still has trouble! But I agree - I hope Disney has fixed it by now and all this is moot!
So do we cancel the challenge and virtual then somehow?? Don't understandUPDATE for those who didn't register for the Kessel Run Challenge the "correct" way. Just got off the phone with RD. The story has now changed from yesterday. They are now sending out emails, later today, that will contain a discount code to complete a new registration with the kessel challenge. It should bring the cost down to $10. We will see. Man, we could have avoided all this mess RD, if you would have had the Kessel Challenge as a separate add on like last year.

No, don't cancel. But, you do need to call or email them otherwise they have no idea you want Kessel. So do we cancel the challenge and virtual then somehow?? Don't understand
I spoke to them on the phone yesterday and they told me to register separately for Virtual Half since I already had the challenge set up.No, don't cancel. But, you do need to call or email them otherwise they have no idea you want Kessel.

I was wondering if anyone received that call back yet...
I'm about 95% sure we want to sign up for this on Tuesday. I have a question...reading through this thread it looks like I'll have to do separate registrations for my 14-year-old son and myself since we want to do the Kessel. What happens if it sells out quickly and I'm only able to complete one registration before it sells out? I don't want to commit to the trip and expense if we can't both participate. Has anyone had that happen? Will they refund in that case? The possibility of not getting both of us in is making me really nervous about signing up.
