**Official AP rate thread!**

Hi,
I called this morning and quickly got a wonderful, very knowledgable CM who got me exactly what my family wanted - Beach Club standard view for $169 (before tax) for 1/11 to 1/17!!!

Happy Happy Happy! Guess I have to renew my AP now! :teeth:

We had a ressie at POR for Jan 1 and 2 for $175 per night. I called this morning and CRO quoted me $175. I said that's no better than what I already have. She replied that it was for both nights combined! Yahoo.

That is a great rate for a WLV 1 bedroom.

You must present the AP upon check-in, and I think you have to pick them up at one of the parks. They don't sell them at the front desk.

From the rumors I've been hearing about AP's, they plan on raising the price at the end of the year. That would mean that I would have to buy the AP around XMas, and that won't work money wise. I know it is silly, but just 3 or 4 weeks makes a huge difference in our money situation. (getting the Xmas bills paid, etc.)

Just an FYI, don't tell them that you do not have the AP yet. When I called back, I was honest and said I had just booked but remembered that AP rates were out. I wanted to know how much of a difference it would make if we had an AP. She was really nice and gave me all of the info, including prices for AP's (I was at Deb's site, so I already knew, though. ;)) Then she said that she could not change the reservation until I had the AP in my hand. She offered to sell me one or said to go to the TDS the next day and then give WDW a call back and they would switch the rate. Oops. I never should have said we didn't have the AP yet. I just wanted to warn others incase they didn't know.

CRO didn't even ask me if I had it when I made the ressie. You just need to present it upon check-in, otherwise you pay the higher rate.

In my imho, the cm you spoke with was incorrect. When we made reservations with the AP rate I told the cm we would be buying them before we left but did not have them yet. I asked if the voucher would be sufficient for check-in and she said yes. She did add that we would need to bring the actual ap back to the desk when we got it, but the voucher would be fine. I've never heard that you have to have an actual AP in hand in order to book the room.

im sorry, this is all new to me and i dont know what a ap is can someone explain,
thank you:) :)

I wish that were true in all cases. I just returned from the Poly. I had an AP rate and they never asked for my AP at check in. The CM did say, "Oh I see you have the AP rate of $$. Good price!" But that was it! No asking for the AP to verify it. I think that it should be asked for every time.

The first time I was ever asked for my AP was this past 4th of July at the Polynesian concierge desk at check in. It caught me off guard as I had them in a different spot in my carry-on bag. He waited for me to dig it out, it almost seemed like he was waiting for me not to have it LOL.

As far as the 'unknowlegable cm's' goes, I have to say that I had the most wonderful one when I booked my DC ressies for CBR in Sept. She sais to me, " Now, I know we'll be hearing from you again. Once when the AP rates come out and then again when the general codes come out! Good luck!!! You'll get a much better rate then." I guess some of the cm's are just more understanding than others. Or maybe it's that they are new at the job. However, my original cm was right...she will hear from me at least two more times before Aug.
