It took me a while, but I got myself caught up here!
The only thing that I have Marie-Kondo-ed in our house...is my drawers of Disney clothes, LOL, that's the only thing that sparks joy around here nowadays, hahaha.
I feel this!
Great selfie! I love the animal print scarf - good for Animal Kingdom!
I was so tired I just stayed in the room and rested for the week ahead! Steve did the Crazy DIS Asian thing where he went to the hotel gym LOL.
Crazy Dis Asian is right!!!
For the Wreck it Ralph experience you pick out one of these character cards which is the character you will look like in the virtual world!
I got the musical purple guy and Steve picked the math nerd. Which he totally is, so of course he'd pick that one. LOL.
That's really neat! And funny about Steve's pick!
So I would say that this Wreck it Ralph experience was absolutely adorable. All the graphics were so cute and we both really enjoyed ourselves! You do get to shoot guns and stuff but really fun things come out of your guns instead of just normal blasters in the Star Wars version.
Awesome! What a fun experience!
I honestly don't buy that much stuff anymore from the stores, just the occasional clothing item and jewelry because I already have tons and tons of stuff that I never use from years of going to Disney so this would just be another addition to the pile, so I totally refrained.
I feel like this, too. But some of that merch was really cute!
Ha! Love this - I relate!
Ears on, we were on our way to our first park, Epcot!!
Ooh, I like your ears! Are they from Aloha Ears, by chance? If so, do you like them? I've been thinking about trying a pair of them at some point.
Deconstructed BLT with Crispy Pork Belly, Tomato Jam and Soft Poached Egg
This was really good! I love the soft poached egg yolk and the delicous pork belly. Such a classic combinations and the Tomato Jam added a nice bit of acidity.
This looks yummy!! And sometimes I think food is deconstructed just for the heck of it to try to follow a trend or something, but this looks like it actually works really well and is kinda creative.
We did, however have an amazing ride on RnRC! Not so sure about the people in front of this though!
Oh that's me the winner!!!
#joy
Wow! Congrats! I've never gotten anything higher than the cat I don't think.
We got a corner room though, not sure if that means anything but maybe we just have like an extra 10 inches of window space or something.
Well that's nice! Yeah, I think the biggest benefit of a corner room is having more windows and more natural light.
I am OBSESSED with these Genie faucets.
So cool!! I want this for my house.
I think I belong here...in this room.
Not so much this resort, although I think it is lovely, I prefer POFQ just slightly more.
We haven't stayed at POR yet, but I think I would feel the same. I'm a big fan of POFQ.
Imagine a Moana room at the Poly...
Oh my goodness, yes! I think you're on to something here!
So happy to see the castle again!
The perfect castle selfie! So magical.
Here's Steve's ride picture. I'm kinda glad I didn't go, look how crowded it was, they squeezed so many people onto this boat!
Oh my goodness! So many people on this boat!!
Obligatory Peoplemover feet picture:
Obligatory for sure! I like your flip flops - they look comfy for Disney!
Remember back on my SOLO trip when I asked if anyone wanted to see a series called Manatees and Me? Well I reordered my first episode
I love this! The ending...
So sweet.
The photographer then told us to switch headpieces.
LOL Steve is a good sport, he really is.
This is a great picture! Steve is definitely a good sport! You look nice in his cap, too!
Over in Japan we got to try the Sushi Donut, which was fun! It's just sushi in a donut shape so if you like sushi regularly I think you'd really enjoy the novelty of this.
Yum! It looks so pretty, and it's such a perfect picture with that backdrop. I think I was mentioning this on Kari's TR, but one of the local sushi places not far from here has been doing sushi donuts as well, and theirs are really quite aesthetically pleasing! More carefully layered than this one. I think they're a big hit! Especially for people who might be newer to sushi and unsure what they'd like to order.
We ended the night watching Illuminations. Such a great show, the music is so powerful and reminds me of growing up and going to Disney World and ending the night in Epcot, which is probably my favorite thing to do.
Sad that it's ending.
I agree! Glad you caught it and enjoyed it.
All the sadness, guilt, anxiety, stress that I had felt from the previous few months dealing with my dad's passing and taking care of a lot of family stuff was really taking it's toll on me and my family, and finally...it was lifted. I think Disney was my way of finally letting go and telling myself everything was going to be ok.
After all the difficult things you'd been through, how beautiful! It sounds like this trip was exactly what you needed to centre yourself a bit in the storm and bring some joy into your life.
