Bet you never thought you would see that phase!lol

It is being reported that a Guest was seen swimming topless in the Sassagoula River yesterday.

I think even more interesting that than is that apparently going topless is not "explicity" forbidden at The Mouse House nor is swimming "technically" forbidden in the River.

While toplessness is not explicitly forbidden, guests are not permitted to be in public spaces at Walt Disney World in inappropriate or vulgar outfits.

Guests reported the incident to Cast Members, who informed them that, technically, there is no rule against swimming in the river. However, it is not advised to swim in any bodies of water other than resort pools as they are not maintained for guest safety. The waters in Central Florida can contain dangerous wildlife, such as alligators or various bacteria that are harmful to humans. Boats also travel down the river, which could create hazardous conditions.

Was the guest male or female? Which leads us back to the discussion about whether women should be allowed to be topless if men are.

And I flash back to when the Beverly Hillbillies tried running a "Topless Waitress" promotion at a restaurant they were running. :rotfl2:

Yeah was going to say something about that but not really worth getting into...will just lead to a lock and move IMO

Did not recall that episode, but will need to go back and watch it.

I'm not sure how they ended up running a restaurant, but they did. Elle Mae was put on a street corner with a sign board advertising "top less waitresses" for the restaurant. As you can imagine, men flocked to the restaurant. Of course, everyone was fully clothed. When asked, Granny pointed out she didn't have a hat on. No hat = "topless" :rotfl2:

I don't understand why a guest can swim in the river there, yet not in Crescent Lake nor Bay Lake. I thought a big reason was a potential alligator encounter. Well, alligators live in rivers too. Is it possible that the Cast Members had the wrong info?

My guess we will soon see another rule on the website. Should have already been there. Last thing Disney needs is another gator situation, or her getting hit by a boat or BRAIN EATING BACTERIA.

She did break the proper attire rule, I don't think only a thong is approved attire. It is now a video all over the internet.

Reported by Admin of PortOrleans FB Group: "Re: the recent post about a woman swimming partially-naked in the Sassagoula River. A security cast member involved with the situation has informed me that this individual, who was only a day guest, was escorted off property and trespassed."

In multiple visits to POFQ we never saw anyone swimming in the river. Or saw anything indicating we could go in the river. In fact there are signs saying to keep on the paths. In addition to the wildlife , the boats to Disney Springs run every 15 minutes or so.Likely some idiot who thought it would fun or a great video on some media site.

How many bodies of water are in the greater Orlando area? When I whittle down the reasons why someone would choose both Sassy River and topless, all I come up with is: attention &/or $. Otherwise there are hundreds of better options.

Well not the smartest thing to do at Disney I think there is not much to the story.

I took one for the team and watched the video.
Seems more like she may have just been from somewhere in Europe and it was no big deal, she was just cooling off.

She seemed to be by herself and not drunk or anything like that, not showing off, not doing it for internet clout.
She was just at the edge so not likely to get hit by a boat or anything.

That said - those waters really are not somewhere you should jump into for many reason, most of all the bacteria.

I could be wrong, but I think way too much is being made of this for the clicks.

That could be the case. It would not be the first time international guests have tried to swim sans suit at Disney. My best friend worked at a restaurant at the Contemporary for a while and when leaving after their shift saw security trying to get a family who was swimming in the main pool sans suits to leave the pool, cover up, and go back indoors. Apparently they were guests of the hotel. There was a language barrier that was making the situation worse, but considering the pool was closed for the night (IIRC it was around 2am) at least there weren’t many onlookers other than CMs.

Between the brain eating amoeba and the body eating gators, you wouldn’t catch me swimming in any lake or canal in Disney.

And when Mr. Drysdale whispered the true meaning of “topless” to Jed, his face turned beet red.

I don’t remember how the Clampetts went into the restaurant business. But apparently business was slow until Jethro noticed lines at other establishments that featured topless waitresses and the Clampetts decided to try the same.
