Update re: Target Circle glitch. The systems department is aware of the issue and hope to have it resolved over the next few days. I was given a case number and told to hang on to that but that they should have it fixed soon. Since there's 21 days left on the bonus, I'm going to wait to make my next two qualifying purchases to see if they fix it first.

Fred Meyer (kroger) has a q for 4x gc the 27th to 29th. Skimmed the details quickly and it looks it just excludes the normal prepaid debit, kroger, gas etc.

Of course I gave up on getting 4x this month and have been buying them for 2x to get my fuel points.

Also be careful, I have my app set to not show me q's that are only for pick up/delivery so I should only see in store offers. I was getting all of them today and my settings were the same.

I'm taking one for the team and have been in a lengthy chat with customer service about the Target Circle glitch. Still working with a specialist. I'll report what I learn hopefully soon.
The first rule of "Gift Card Club" is not to talk about "Gift Card Club". I hope they don't add regular gift cards to the prohibited list!

Target Circle Earnings rewards are not earned on the following:

adult beverage purchases;
purchases of prescriptions and over-the-counter items located behind the pharmacy counter;
purchases made at some partner businesses, including in-store clinics, and Target Optical;
purchases made on the Shipt App and tips for Shipt shoppers;
purchases made from Target through 3rd party sites such as Google Express;
purchases of Target GiftCards; and Visa, American Express and Mastercard gift cards/prepaid cards;
taxes, bottle deposits, shipping, delivery, handling and all other fees or charges;
payment of any RedCard balance, debit card cash withdrawals at checkout and payments for insufficient funds;
• prior purchases (except if you are able to submit a receipt from a prior purchase within 14 days); or
where otherwise prohibited by law.

I read the list of excluded items and third party gift cards are not excluded so this isn't like trying to get something past them that is excluded, unlike tracking giftcards on RMN. I don't think I broke any gift card club rules here.

None of those include Disney gc or anything other than target and visa/amex/Mc gc.

It's just a general recommendation not to rock the boat when purchasing gift cards from one of our major sources, even when you feel you're in the right. In this case you are still just waiting and hoping that the glitch will be fixed so nothing was done except to bring attention to your gift card purchase. Yeah, it's not excluded NOW but they may change in the future if many people call and complain that their gift card purchases are not being credited right now. Loop holes have been closed at Target before (RIP, buying gift cards with gift cards) and earning Target Circle rewards is one of the ones we have remaining that is easy and profitable.

My intent is not to make you feel bad. You've already called and that's water under the bridge :goodvibes. I'm just putting this out there in case someone else thinks about calling and following up on their gift card purchases.

Ordered groceries last night and picked up today. Got the checkmark today, I'll check back on it tomorrow and see if it holds.

My checkmark came through instantly after purchasing the giftcards but then disappeared later when I went in to purchase my second purchase. Hopefully it holds for you.

Thanks. I was going to call but decided to check here first. With 21 days left I still have time to complete. And I do have a screen shot of the first step completed.

Yes I wanted to check here first before calling since didn't want to "rock the boat". I still have 21 more days so we will see if it is fixed by then. Hopefully!!

Warning from @Dznypal about the new DGCs you see in store that are fully enclosed in a cardboard case and the cards themselves are also cardboard. link

today I was combining gift cards. I got down to the last 2 I had noticed that the cardboard backing was bigger then my other cards they also didn't just flop open like the others--I had to tear through the backing to get to the cards so I put all the info in and got to the scratch gently well the cards were more like heavy cardboard then the plastic types which the silver covering comes off pretty easy but since these cards were more like cardboard it scratched the whole number off so I cant even read it
I did call the number on the back of the card the agent was hard to understand but if I understood her right she said since the barcode was ok then I could just swipe the card when I want to use it so if I'm right again then I wouldn't be able to combine it with my other cards and just use it separately has this ever happened to anyone else where you cant see the gift card number

I got one of these myself today. Instead of scratching I did the peel method- very slowly to make sure I didn't peel up the numbers- no issues. HOWEVER, I took my nail to it to see if I could scratch the number off and yup, it scratched off pretty easily with a similar amount of pressure to what I would use to scratch through a silver cover backing.

I've had one of these and was happy for a more secure card. I didn't have any issues with the silver, used one of my metal cc's to scratch it off. They are like most other cardboard cards, which have all been ok for me. The only cardboard card I'm aware of that has a strip you pull off is Amazon. Netflix and Uber you have to scratch.

But she is in the right. This isn't a loophole. It specifically states which GC are excluded. It's not a thing they just aren't catching.

But I do agree with you on things that we all KNOW are supposed to be exluded. Like we all know we shouldn't get cash back on Rakuten when buying GC. So no, never call on those things. But I might have called too in this circumstance, bc there is no reason it should not have triggered the bonus.

My Sam's Club membership expired a few months ago so the Disney GC deal is out for me. I'm hoping BJs will have a decent deal around Thanksgiving along with Best Buy where you don't have to buy the membership to access it. I'm also debating whether I want to stock up on GCs to pay off my DVC dues in a lump sum like I usually do or do it monthly so less worry to stock up.
