Wait, didn't I just get back?! An August '10 PTR...TRIP REPORT LINK ADDED p. 27

Happy Single Digits!!!!! :yay:

Your sister is like my DH! Just kinda meh about AK. :sad2: I love it! It's so beautiful!!!

The night EMH at AK are pretty fun. Everything will be EMPTY except EE. If it's dark out, EE at night is something else....try it! I think they pretty much only have FOTLK and Nemo and EE going at night, pretty slim pickins.

No It's Tough to Be a Bug? I would love to go see it again, we haven't gone in it since having Henry...not sure how old he has to be before he isn't traumatized! :confused3

Yay for single digits!! :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Ummmm, not an attraction, but you can't go to AK and not get a jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel, can you???? :)

I appreciate the details and the beauty in AK, but I'll admit I usually don't spend more than a half day there. I'm one of those people who can go through a trail and go "yep, that's a Gorilla." I won't spend time just watching them. I do the same thing in museums, I rarely spend more than a few seconds on a painting. My boyfriend really liked the brief time we spent in AK during the last trip, so I'm planning a full day...I've realized there's a lot I've never seen!

Wow can't believe you're at single digits!!! :woohoo:

I like AK, but it's definitely my least favorite park! I love Everest, I love the safari, and the Flights of Wonder show, but there is a lot I still haven't done there! :confused3  It is such a beautiful park...someday I will take the proper time to explore it!

Yay for single digits. You're almost there!

Sounds like visits to AK are interesting with you and your sister. I hope you both have fun and get to see some of the trails. Even if you don't manage to do much exploring, the rides will still be a lot of fun.

Single digits! Wow how time flies!

All your plans for AK sound great. Definitely see FOTLK, it's always a wild show. ;)

Single digitsssss!!!! :woohoo: :)

The Simba bouncy smiley is so cute! I've never noticed the DIS had it LOL

Definitely try to squeeze in FOTLK since you missed it last time :thumbsup2

Wow! You only have 9 days left!!:woohoo:

Thanks for posting the video of World of Color! It looks amazing! I really want to go to Disneyland now!;)

I enjoyed your trip flashback! Great picture in front of Woody!:goodvibes

8 days now! :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed the WOC video. It was pretty awesome.

Single digit dancing! :cool1::banana::woohoo::dance3::banana: :cool1:

Nemo? Have you ever seen Devine? I really want to find her in November.

Yeah, I don't know if we'd be able to fit in both Nemo and FOTLK. We'll see. We have never seen Devine. That would be kind of cool too.

Happy Single Digits!!!!! :yay:

I love the AK too. I just love the theming and of course all the animals. :thumbsup2

I bet it would be interesting to do EE at night. The only thing is that it's the day we're planning on going to Universal so I don't think it'd really work out. I don't want my sisters to waste a whole day on their tickets. It wouldn't make a difference for me though, haha! Yay for my AP!

Dad and I did ITTBAB in April. If my sisters want to do it we could do it again.

Yay for single digits!! :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Ummmm, not an attraction, but you can't go to AK and not get a jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel, can you???? :)

LOL, I have never had one of those...I did try the regular cream cheese pretzel at MK though thanks to one of Lady Lallie's TRs!

Normally we don't either. Or else we'll go twice and just for a few hours. It was so fun in April when we were there for pretty much the whole day because of the Backstage Safari tour. :thumbsup2

Wow can't believe you're at single digits!!! :woohoo:

Me neither! This time next week we'll be getting all set to go!

Aww, sad! Like I said I LOVE the Animal Kingdom! You should definitely take a day to explore it. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I won't really mind if we don't get to see the trails since Dad and I did all of them in April. But yes, it will be interesting since all my one sister really cares for is EE, Dinosaur, and the safari (and I don't even think she's all that fond of that :confused3).

Single digits! Wow how time flies!

All your plans for AK sound great. Definitely see FOTLK, it's always a wild show. ;)

It sure does fly. I can't believe it's almost August already!

I hope we get to see FOTLK. It is a great show.

Single digitsssss!!!! :woohoo: :)

The Simba bouncy smiley is so cute! I've never noticed the DIS had it LOL

Definitely try to squeeze in FOTLK since you missed it last time :thumbsup2

LOL, yeah there are all different bouncy smileys if you click on more. There are a lot of characters.

Well guys, at this time next week we will be in Disney World!!!:lovestruc

I have a feeling this week is going to fly...lots going on! I have to work at my other job and we have a big event going on this week. Then Thursday the State Fair starts so I think we might go to that (I hope). Friday is when my friend and her husband are coming and then Saturday we've got tickets to the Brewer game.

Today we went out to Target and got a few random things for the trip like sunscreen, shampoo and all that fun stuff.

I also told my sisters how I think when we get there next week we should take the boat over to Port Orleans since we are not going to go to a park. I know I posted possible arrival day plans a while ago. It's still kind of up in the air as to what we do . We'll probably decide when we're waiting for the plane! :rotfl: I know, we are so organized. :rolleyes

And since I haven't done them for a couple days, it's time for some more trip flashbacks! :yay: Let's see, where did I leave off???

Before I post the next Disney World trip, I feel like I should interrupt that to post about my first visit to Disneyland! Especially since it occurred before our next trip to WDW anyway.

Disneyland Trip #1: 2004
For quite some time I had been wanting to go to Disneyland. But for whatever reason, I was kind of afraid to visit there. Why you might ask? Well, after having been to WDW so many times I thought that I had been spoiled. We all know how WDW has 4 parks, 2 water parks, recreation, countless resorts and it's really an all-inclusive resort area. Then there's Disneyland. Only 2 parks, a couple resorts, and...yeah, that's about it. I guess I was afraid that I would be bored if I went to Disneyland and would just wish I was in Disney World the whole time. I would find out what the original Disney park was like in '04. This was a really last minute trip and was mostly because my dad's alma mater, the University of Michigan, was playing in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day '05. We were able to get game tickets through one of his friends and made the trip out west! It was just me, Emma, and Dad.

The year was also pretty significant because it was right before Disneyland's 50th anniversary. Awesome!

We only had a couple of days in Disneyland but it was so neat getting to compare the original to WDW. The two parks have a lot of the same attractions but there are also a lot that are only in DL. We loved the Matterhorn, Alice in Wonderland, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (RIP Mr. Toad at WDW). But it was even fun comparing the attractions that are at both parks. We found that the DL version of Pirates is WAY better and the WDW version of Splash Mountain is better. Dad liked to refer to the DL version as the "Splash Mountain Speedway" because you just went through it so quickly!

We also really enjoyed visiting California Adventure which was filled with exclusive attractions, like our favorite California Screamin' and Soarin' over California (its official name at DCA). I remember how this one couple actually gave us some fastpasses for it. Otherwise I don't think we would've gotten to ride since the wait was so long. We were so excited when they decided to build it at Epcot. :thumbsup2

A random shot of Paradise Pier. I loved how it was all lit up at night!

Now, part of the Rose Bowl experience is going to the Tournament of Roses parade. We ended up getting bleacher seats to watch. Guess who the Grand Marshal of the parade was?

100_0068.jpg

Yep, that's right...MICKEY MOUSE!!! How fitting that he was the Grand Marshal since it was our first trip to Disneyland (well, mine and Emma's atleast) and our first Rose Parade!

After the parade we went to the stadium where we got to see an epic game. Sadly Michigan lost but Dad still says it's probably one of the greatest Rose Bowl games ever...it came down to a last second field goal.

So that was a really exciting trip for us. Oh, and the verdict on Disneyland? LOVED IT!!! Seriously, if you have not been go. Any true Disney fan has to go see where it all started. It's a completely different experience than WDW but still a blast. Can't wait to go back!

Wow the Rose Bowl and Disneyland the same trip. How fun. The Rose Bowl Parade is on our short list of destinations. It sure would be fun to go and watch a favorite team.

I loved the WOC video, thank you for posting the link. I saw it once from the fastpass section (blue) and nightly from my room balcony(5 times). We were on the 3rd floor, so we could kinda see the lights underwater from that angle. I hope everyone will be able to plan a trip soon.:rotfl:

Where is Nemo on your AK schedule, I enjoy that show. Esp. the air conditioning on a hot day:lovestruc. You really should try to close the parks, MK is the best, the ride lines generally get really short. It is a great time to get on and off BTM or SM multiple times. You and your sisters are young, stay and enjoy your time in the park.

One week, so close now.

One week! I'm looking forward to your TR already.

It's funny, your description of your hesitation to go to Disneyland is exactly my feelings too. Would I want to go to Disneyland instead of Disney World? :confused3

In all seriousness, I do envy your completely up in the air itinerary. You know you'll be back so it's all good. :cloud9:

Nice Disneyland report. I really want to go there someday. It's hard to justify flying all the way to California to visit Disney when you live in Florida. Hopefully someday I'll make it there.

We did the exact same trip as you, DL & the Rose Bowl, only it was the year before you went! We only had one day at the park however and it was NYE, yeah, we didn't have the best time. We gave DL it's proper due in 2008 when we spent 4 days there, it's different than WDW but definitely worth the trip! I agree with you the PoTC is better there and WDWs Splash is better, but also DLs Space Mtn is sooooo much better than the one in WDW. I hope to make another trip out there once all of the renovations to DCA are complete :thumbsup2

Great Disneyland report! It just makes me want to go all the more. California Adventure looks so beautiful all lit up at night!

Wow, single digits!!! This time has gone so fast. Isn't it great when you can say, "This time next week..." about your trip? I love annoying DH with that line. :)

Love the DLR pics!

I was there a year ago :( (at WDW that is.) Time sure does fly! I love being able to say, "one week from today I'll be..."
