Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I can tell you all about overpacking!! Every trip I try NOT to, no really!! So far it's been an epic fail! It's prob a good thing they charge now for each piece so I'm not tempted to pack 2 suitcases.

I resemble this! We could still get the first bag free so we all have a suitcase, carry on and personal bag. Repacking it all tonight I have so much we haven't worn! Good part is the clean stuff stays separate so maybe I can do less laundry when we get home, maybe...

Edit-blasted tablet went temperamental again, won't quote SueM.[/QUOTE]
We each have a checked bag, carry on wheeled bag & a personal bag usually a lesportsac tote lol! I always pack a carry on with change of clothes, shoes, pj, & bathing suit. For when airlines either loose my luggage or luggage doesn't make my connection and don't get my luggage untill late the following night :sad2:

I never ever say no to Tastycakes and Tastypies!!!!! I love anything chocolate and my pie choice is chocolate or cherry. Once in a while we can get some of them here now that we have WAWA but the selection is very limited. But if you have room for a real Jersey tomato, I would kill for one!!!!! Florida has no idea what a real tomato tastes like!!!!!
I can't believe you can't even get a Florida grown orange in Florida! All imported from CA!

What are these Tastycakes I keep hearing about? Maybe some kind person will bring some down for me!! Ninja I'm looking at you!!! Lol!

Teena what's WAWA? I only know Publix or WinnDixie in Florida. But usually shop Publix cause they carry Jones Breakfast sausage & Indian River O.J!! My must haves in Florida. Plus a decent Key Lime pie!

If you go to the local orchards here in Clermont, you can get real Florida oranges.

WAWA .... it's sort of like a 7-Eleven but way way better. WAWA is a store where if you were northeasters, you grew up getting their hoagies (otherwise known as subs) and coffee. They make the best hoagies ever. They put Subway to shame. Apparently the owner retired to Florida a few years ago and started putting them up all over Florida. When the first sign appeared in Clermont that a WAWA was coming, there was a huge party ... people were talking about nothing else. Bob goes every morning for their breakfast sandwich and coffee. I go at least twice a week for their soft pretzels and hoagies. Jeanne finds a reason to take the car out at least every other day for their spinach salad and soft pretzels. There are a few near Disney now too!! And their gas is always the cheapest around.

If you are looking for a full balcony, then we suggest that you word your room request "Full balcony please"

If you want to add on that you want a certain location or other request you can do that too.

"Full balcony, please. Upper floor if possible"

There is a floor that doesn't have many full balconies- I can never remember if it is the 2nd or 3rd floor. Someone here will know or maybe you can tell by looking at some of the pictures on Page 1. But on other floors there are both full balconies and smaller ones throughout.

Unfortunate resort design!

;)

@dansdad Beat me to it!
Hmm, didn't realize we could write in a request like that when we do online check in or are you writing the request somewhere else?

When I checked in another resort last October I was given a screen which showed options and you clicked on things like higher floor, close to elevator and things like that. Don't recall seeing a place we do could write ins. Just wanted to make sure when my time comes around I know where to put the request or if I need to send it somewhere other than online check in page. Thanks!

The requests we are talking about can be called in to disneys central reservations office to be noted on your reservation. This can be done anytime after you book and is in addition to the online check in request

Thanks so much! Never knew we could do that.

Ferrentinos, great photos!

Yes you can definitely sit out a ride. DH didn't do Star Tours. One family had problems getting there-monorail issue so they have them fast passes to get on the rides they missed. CMs were really helpful and answered questions, gave out some fact etc.

I just got called for jury duty! I was supposed to report next Tuesday but I called the court house to let them know I'm leaving for vacation. I had to send the clerk a copy of my reservation. She emailed me back and said she wanted to go to Disney too! ;) I'm just glad I got the letter before I left so I was able to be excused! :D
I called called for jury duty the week we were scheduled at the YC in May. Last week was my "make up" week, and sadly I was not picked for the trial....which was really ok as I lost a whole day of Disney planning in that courtroom!

oh man. I was just reading over on the restaurant board. Folks were talking about Cape May Cafe and then said it made the beach club lobby smell like old seafood/fish smell.

I am looking forward to to the light beachy smell you guys have mentioned! I don't want to walk into a wall of old crab leg smell!

Am I being crazy for being concerned?

I HATE fish, the sight of fish and the smell of fish. I never noticed a fishy smell at all. :)

I have a family member who is allergic to fish/seafood. She can't stand the "aroma" wafting from Cape May. Strong fish odors are prevalent in the evening, when passing by Cape May and walking in the passageway from the BC toward the YC side.

I hate that fishy smell. Honestly, I find it awful to be in the BC lobby and the corridor towards the YC in the evenings. Not only was it crowded with people waiting to be seated, but it had a terrible seafood smell. If you don't mind seafood it probably isn't nearly as noticeable. This is one of the reasons that I personally prefer the YC to the BC. YMMV ;)

I never noticed this smell!! Though now that I think about it, I may never have passed by that way at dinner time.....

Has anyone else noticed that at the YC for 2016 bookings Lagoon View and Standard view seem to be unavailable? I wondered if it was just the week I was looking at but once I started checking random dates it seemed all that was available was Garden View?
