Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

This may seem like a very odd question...but I am always hearing about Teena from the Beach Club. I hear that she can upgrade your room. Any way to get in touch with Teena? LOL

Teena is a greeter at BC who epitomizesall the things we love about Disney. She is an amazing person.

She is not an "upgrader". She just loves BC and tries to make everyone she meets have the best BC stay

Please don't ask her to upgrade you though. She can however give yoy hints to make your BCstay the best it can be

As far as upgrades are concerned the best way to go about getting one is to ask if one is available at the CHECK IN DESK and OFFER to PAY for it. Seriously, be prepared to Pay for it. RARELY, the check in desk can upgrade you for free but with capacity at the hotels at a very high level these upgrades are being reported less and less on these boards.

Conventional wisdom states that upgrades are given out based on the needs/convenience of the hotel. For instance if all of the standard room categories are booked and it makes sense to bump up a guest up to a garden view (because that is the room that is open for that time slot) then that's most likely when an upgrade will happen.

It's also been said many times before on these boards that the worst way to try to get an upgrade is to ask about it and not offer to pay for it.

So that's the scoop on the updates. It pays to be realistic about your chances and go about them the right way. Having an expectation that just anybody can upgrade you is a non starter at Disney Hotels

Hello to you too, and thanks for the tips! I am trying to plan my next Disney trip to go as smoothly as possible (my last trip in '09 shall be nothing compared to my next one!) I apologize if I came across as needy/begging

Nope ... I am a themed doorperson (greeter) ... don't even have access to a computer ... I have nothing at all to do with rooms and inventory.

I will be traveling with 3 men (hubby, 13 yr old nephew, and dad) in three weeks...I will be on the lookout to say Hi! We are traveling in 3 separate groups to make up our party of 10.

Are you originally from the PA/NJ area? I remember posts about WaWa and such! Nice to meet you!

Not needy at all, I just wanted to help you out with the right information so you stand the best chance for that to happen and you understand when it does not. Sometimes it's the small things that make the most difference. One time I got upgraded to the preferred building at Pop by the pool. I was all in a kerfluffle and didn't really want the upgrade as I preferred my building that I usually stay in... but the upgrade at POP was lovely because I faced the lake and I was close to AOA, which I got the chance to walk on over and see. The reason they gave me that upgrade was that my usual building was full of tour groups and the Preferred building was the one that had the room available for my time slot.

Awesome story! I'm a newbie at all of these Disney tricks of the trade, and it's nice to have sweet people like you helping me out! :)

The bakery has things besides sweets, I think my husband had a quiche & I had a ham & cheese something or other . It was all very good!!
Yes...there are other selections, besides sweets. The Disney Food Blog has some good photos, including pics of the food and menus.

Menu from Disney...https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/epcot/les-halles-boulangerie-patisserie/menus/

Though the World Showcase does not open till 11:00 a.m., they will let you in at 9:00 a.m., if you tell the CM that you are going to the French bakery.

Yes, born in South Jersey, raised my family in the Harrisburg area (thanks to hubby's job) and then retired to Florida over 11 years ago. Yep, I miss the Northeast's tomatoes, corn and Tastycakes and now that Wawa has arrived here, I'm a happy camper (love the hoagies and pretzels). I'll be traveling out to my daughter's to help her in her classroom (and of course to see Princess Lily) ... I leave next Tuesday but will be back to work on 8/30. Still thinking I might hop on the Disney Fantasy for a week on 9/12 but nothing definite on that yet. We'll probably decide this week.

Teena...what is your September schedule? Do you have any trips scheduled, or will you be at work during the month?

Are you going to be helping Jeanne this year at the start of the fall term?

Yep, leave on 8/18 and return to work on 8/30. Not sure about September. We are thinking of jumping on the Fantasy on 9/12 for a week but nothing definite yet. I've got a week or two to decide on the cruise.

Unless plans change at the last minute, I'll look forward to seeing you the beginning of September.

I hope you have a good trip out west and enjoy your "Lily time."
