Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I'm thinking ahead about our room requests for our April stay at the Beach Club. I'm interested in requesting a king room since there is only two of us, but I know those rooms are really limited. Are they in any general area or just randomly placed? We booked a lagoon/pool view room.

I'm so excited to return to Beach Club, after staying at other resorts my past several trips! My sister and I have a garden/woods view room booked. I would like to request a room close to the lobby, and we'd also love a full balcony- but I'm not sure if either of these requests make sense with a garden/woods view room. Does anyone know if this room category has options either close to lobby and/or wiith full balcony? I know requests aren't guaranteed, but if it's possible, I'll put it in- if not, I won't bother. Thanks for your help!

:welcome: back!!!

When is your trip?

Yes, there are definitely rooms that fit your requests, as others have mentioned. I think there are some rooms that overlook the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard that would meet both criteria and offer some excellent views/people-watching.

We are considering staying at the YC our next trip and I have a few questions.

Do they share buses with BW, Swan, and Dolphin for MK and AK?

What time do the early buses usually come for ADRs?

Any other info you can give to help us narrow down resort choices would be great! We have never stayed at one of the EPCOT resorts so we are trying to decide between this and BW. We would be there the first or second week of Dec and have been this time of year before so have visited for the decorations. We are 3 adults, 2 of us are in our late 30s/early 40s and the other is late 60s. 2 of the 3 have food allergies so dining is not a factor in the decision. Thanks so much!

:welcome: to this thread!

No, the buses to the theme parks do not share with other resorts (just BC/YC). I can't remember if the DTD buses still share with BW or not.

One morning in August, I went out early to monitor the early buses. This is the timing the buses arrived the morning I was there.

WP_20150830_006.jpg

So what was the timing of the buses?

On this day, Animal Kingdom opened at 8 am and Magic Kingdom opened at 9 am.

As I walked up, a bus was just pulling away.

6:30, MK

6:52, AK

6:54, MK

7:06, AK

I wasn’t able to stay and be a bus monitor any longer because it was time for me to leave to get ready for breakfast with the gals!

Let us know if you decide to book at the Yacht Club.

:goodvibes:

That is interesting, although it doesn't make sense to have a bus to the front of Epcot in order to catch the monorail, since it is much faster to take the MK bus from the resort. I think they rerouted the water park buses so that they all went to Epcot instead of the individual resorts. Maybe it is for that.

Maybe Dee can check it out when she is there in January. ;)

I'll see what I can do.

I don't know if it was a test but there were Epcot buses at the YC the first week of October. It was funny because I remarked to a friend that I wished I had known about the buses on my last trip, when I had a heel spur. I just assumed they had always been there and we just missed them every other time we went.

The buses from YC/BC to EPCOT are new. They did not have them when I was there in August, but have started since then. I believe Wood Nymph is correct that it has something to do with the water park transportation.

::yes::

YC is been on my bucket list for many years but I hear so many complaints about it being overrated and not worth the money. I'm a DVC member but I would still love to stay here for a night or two but now I'm hesitant since I've heard lots of negative feedback. It really seems very expensive IMO so don't know if I would do better just spending my money elsewhere. Has it just become run down or has it just fallen from grace for another reason? It just doesn't seem to get the love that BC does.

:welcome: to the thread.

I have only stayed at the Beach Club so I can't really give you first-hand info about the Yacht Club. You will get a variety of reviews of this (or any resort) because peoples opinions and priorities are so different. For the most part the folks on here have given positive reports and definitely a lot of return visitors.

On Page 1 of this thread, Post 16 I think, there are some reviews of the resorts that guests have posted. You may want to check those up.

Let us know if you decided to book a stay at the Yacht Club.

:)

Need to make a quick decision and would love some advice. Currently have a 3 night stay in late April booked at BC for an excellent price, but it's standard view and no way of upgrading the view. For $290 more, I could switch to the YC and it would be garden view with balcony, but it's during what I think is a time of room renovations, correct? And the walk to Epcot would be a little further. And I'd be out another $300. I guess I'm wondering how awful the standard view rooms are at BC and if I should switch... Thanks in advance!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list at the Beach Club in April. If you decide to change to YC, let us know.

:thumbsup2

I’ve returned from my 12 month Disney planning hiatus and our 2017 plans are full steam ahead. You see here in the UK we can book for 2017 from this April. So please add me to your list for July 2017 BC.

Hello all! :goodvibes

My Mum and I are booked into the Yacht Club for 6 nights over Princess Half Marathon Weekend in February. We're then meant to be resort hopping for our remaining 2 nights, but we're regretting our choice and want to stay in Yacht club (or Beach Club, we're not fussy!) for those nights too.

Does anyone know what our best plan of action should be? Would we be better off waiting until we arrive and talking to concierge or ringing Disney and asking to switch our reservation before we leave?

I would start with trying to arrange the changes before you leave. If it doesn't work out the way that you need it to then plan b would be to try and make the changes while you are at the hotel. Good luck with your plans and have a fantastic trip.

Does anyone have photos and/or video containing the new remodeling of rooms 1501 (or 2501 or 3501) and 1509 (or 2509 or 3509)?
I've always wanted to stay in those rooms, particularly 3509.

Thanks.

Randomly placed. They are not in one area.

I've been trying to catch up and now can't find the thread where it was referenced, but I thought I read something about a sub-thread that has pictures of the different BC views. Can someone explain where I find this "sub-thread?" Thanks!

There's a link to the BC Views Thread on page #1 of this thread. Any information like that you are looking for will probably be on page #1. Here's the link. http://www.disboards.com/threads/beach-club-room-views.3057904/

Hi there and happy new year! Can you please update our info for BOG list? We will be staying at the YC from June 9-15. DH has a business trip in Orlando a few days prior so my son and I get to tour Orlando before the grand finale in Disney. I think we will use a few of our water park passes too so I have to figure out transportation for that.

Thanks :)

Dee, you need to try out YC next time! Give it a chance and you will enjoy it! I highly recommend requesting a room on the second floor near the lobby stairs.

We may. If Mark and I do our 30th Anniversary trip to Disney next fall, the YC is a definite contender.

:thumbsup2

Happy New Year Yacht and Beach clubbers! I love the easy going friendliness of this thread. Thanks to all for sharing information and reviews, your thoughts and opinions are so helpful! :goodvibes

We can't wait to be back at the YC in April. The countdown is on!!:beach:party:

Thanks so much for the kind words. I appreciate the cooperation of the people who post here and keep the thread helpful and positive!

:goodvibes:

our dates are 5/26 - 6/4, also in a standard view at BC.

I had slightly different dates for you on the Be Our Guest list, so I will update with what you have listed above.

:cool2:

We are excited to try our 1st stay at BC (we love BWI and YC) but want to try something different this time.

We have a waterview room booked and I asked for a 1st floor room as I love the patio rooms at YC. Does anybody have experience with waterview 1st floor rooms. I do not really care about a daybed or location on the 1st floor, just want a patio.

:welcome: back!

I"ll add you to the Be Our guest list.

:cool1:

I'm not sure if any of the views on the BC view thread (referenced on the previous page) are of first floor rooms.

If you specifically want a lagoon view, you should add that to your room request because some of the first floor BC water views may be looking at the BC quiet pool. I think your best (and maybe only) bet for this view/floor combination may be the volleyball courtyard.

Anyone else have any thought or input?

:goodvibes

Hi! I love this thread! I've been following along and really appreciate everyone's input about these 2 wonderful resorts! We were books garden view at the BC but a garden view at the YC opened and it will save us $529! I was prepared to make the decision by what I've read here (that's why I kept looking!) and we have moved to the YC!! Full balcony here we come!! (Still 4/29 to 5/6!!) Yay!!

OK, I'll make the change.

Heading to the Beach Club after the Daytona 500 for a few days. Not long enough 2/22-2/24.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

As dansdad replied, placement of the king bed rooms are scattered throughout the resort. I believe some of them have some nice set ups, so it is worth adding the request to your reservation.

As Ninjamom indicates, you should try to arrange to switch your reservation now, and if there is no availability between now and the time you arrive, check when you get there.

I'm not sure. Have you tried searching this thread with the room numbers you are interested in as the search word? ( 1509 / 2509 / 3509 ) and ( 1501 / 2501 / 3501 )

FYI- I just tried it with 3509 and only your post and mine showed up. Try the others.

dansdad provided the link for you. For future reference for anyone looking- check Page 1 or you can find the View threads for BC, YC and BCV on the Resorts Community (Photo) subforum.

Will do! I finally caught up here and should be able to update the list, back to page 347  later this morning.

Are you still club level?

We were in room 3565 and it was a lagoon view room with a king bed. This room is a corner room with a standing balcony. . I saw pictures of the room above it and it had a king bed, too.

Request for Info:

I am looking for a printed copy or screen shot of the Beach Club advanced checkin and Yacht Club advanced checkin forms to post on Page 1.

Thanks!

I have one for BCV:

Note- the option for full balcony is confusing.

Here are the options for the YC:

Room Requests

You may select up to 2 requests.

 Ground Floor

 Upper Floor

 Lower Floor

 Near Elevator

I believe that the BC also has the "Large Balcony" option.

What do you do if you want to request a king bed since that isn't one of the options?

You need to add a request for a king bed room to your reservation by calling Disney's Central Reservations Office and placing your request that way. If you booked with a travel agent, they need to call and make the request on your behalf.

Search this thread for the phone number if you need it. It is either in Post 13 or Post 14.

Totally forgot that it is a brand new month!

Here is the January activities schedule.

Hmmm... very blurry. My copy is ok. Using a new scanner so I may need to set the resolution higher.

Is this one better?

Looks slightly better. I'll go with it.
