Two Geeks and A 9/16 At-Home Disney-ish Wedding - We're married!

I hydroplaned & took out a street sign and almost someones front porch. I got a ticket too. I wasn't happy either. That was a few years ago. I feel your pain.
Keep an eye on your neck. Use cold and warm compresses off & on to ease the strain. Trust me, I was rearended & I thought I just had whipflash. Turned out I had major muscle strain in my neck and shoulder.
Had to have physical therapy for a few months and I've issues ever since. It's one of the causes of my migraines. Glad the other guy was ok too. Freaking rain sucks.

Love your dress, the flutes...everything!

I'm doing better today. Just having an issue with my ankle locking up (which has nothing to do with the accident). But yeah, the most important thing is that I'm okay and so was he.

Thank you! I'm so excited to see pics from your wedding on MONDAY! :yay: :yay: :yay:

So I was gonna quote your message, but the first part just looked like this

I love this!
I love this!
I love this too!

Seriously, everything looks AMAZING. I really want a pair of purple converse now. I've been getting back into the whole "sundress with keds" look recently. Which apparently made one of my kids from youth group mad, haha, because on Easter her mom told her she couldn't wear sneakers with a dress, and then I showed up. I told her when she paid for every part of her outfit and lived on her own she could wear whatever she wanted too.

And I LOVE the dress for your engagement photos! It's so pretty!

Obviously I love anything related to Beauty and the Beast. But I already tried the rose under the glass, and Joe veto-ed. Stupid groom not wanting a Disney wedding. Hmph.

Glad to hear you're okay! And that you didn't panic when you started to hydroplane and could make a conscious thought about what to do. It definitely stinks they gave you a ticket. Cops are, to use my word, poopieheads sometimes.

You can get purple Converse from their site without customizing them completely, but yeah :) I like mine :teeth: I've always liked wearing skirts and dresses with Converse. It suits me, I think. And that's too funny about the other girl, lol. My parents never really told us anything like that, but I think that's just because we had strange fashion ideas to begin with.

I really love that dress! I saw it and liked it, but didn't have the money for it until I got my tax return. Turned out that I bought the last one in my size they had in the store at that time.

That's sad that he keeps vetoing all the Disney touches :( I'm very glad Matt loves Disney as much as I do.

I'm just so happy that neither of us were hurt. I'm obviously not thrilled about the ticket, but it could be worse. It's not an outrageous fine and we're doing better than we were a few months ago, financially. So we'll just deal with it.

I'm glad you're ok!! Can you fight the ticket? At least in MA acts of nature is a perfectly acceptable excuse, at least as far as insurance is concerned (but our state is weird in that traffic tickets are tied to insurance premiums....not sure how FL is).

Now onto the fun stuff....I love everything you've picked out so far!! The shoes are simply perfect. That dress for your e-pics is sooooooooo cute, and what a better way to spend your birthday right? Poly would be great for pics, since you could always duck inside if it got too hot.

I think I can, but the court costs to do so would triple the cost of the ticket. And if I lost, I'd still have to pay the ticket. So I'm just going to do the traffic school thing so I don't get points on my license and then pay the ticket.

I love my shoes so much! And yes, I'm excited to do our pictures on my birthday :) Every time I ask DF where he wants to take pictures, he keeps saying he doesn't know. And it's like "Honey, we have to decide eventually." We're spending my birthday at MK anyway, so if Emily can do our pictures there, we will. We've got breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace before park open and then dinner at BOG.

I'm glad you're okay! I got in an accident recently and found out that in a two-car crash, Florida law is that they have to issue at least one of the people a ticket. In my case, the other car really was at fault. But that's probably why they issued you the ticket, since you were technically the crash-er.

Love your shoes and champagne flutes! Everything is really coming along!

I figured it was something like that, to be honest. That's why I'm not that bothered by it. We're just going to pay it and I'll do the traffic school thing and be done with it.

Thank you! :yay: I really like the flutes in particular. I've wanted them ever since I first found them and a wedding was just a hypothetical thing.

Yay shoes! And the card box is awesome. Zack thought so too! :-) I love the base of your cloche! Mine's not so pretty - I was debating a stand for it.

I LOVE YOUR DRESS.

At least you're ok, and the other driver. Property can always be fixed or replaced! But what a bummer :(
That seems like a silly law to me - maybe instead of issuing silly tickets to people who can't control what happened, they should spend their time looking for people who are actually driving recklessly in bad conditions :confused3 No matter how careful you are, there's always a chance... but those people are tempting fate!

I got mine from Save-On Crafts! It was only $18, and I got an aisle runner from them, too! I can link you if you like. I wasn't sure about having a tall base like that at first and then I found that one and was like "Yep, that's it."

I love my dress, too! I've been having such good luck in the last couple of years with finding dresses I like in my size!

I agree on the ticket, but like I said before, we're not going to bother fighting it. It'll be okay. I'm just very glad that the other driver and I are both all right.

OMG!! I'm sure glad that you are okay. That accident sounds scary. Hope that there is nothing else that comes out of it.

Love the dress and your deliveries. Best of all are the shoes!!! They are going to be awesome and so comfortable.

I adore your invitations! I'm suggesting a similar design for one of my brides. Your pearls and earrings are classic. I can't wait to see it all together!

Well, I was notified that the guy in the other car has hired a lawyer. So... Not sure what's happening. :headache:

Me neither! :yay:

99 DAYS OMG!!!

Where the heck has the time gone? How do we only have 99 days left until the wedding?! Technically, in 99 days, the reception will be winding down and we'll be leaving for our honeymoon, but still!

Anyway, nothing new to really report. We sent out our invitations last week, so people have started to receive them. We're working to finalize a room block at a hotel near us for guests. My birthday was last week and we spent the day at MK, which was fun. We've had some things happening in my family, which wasn't fun. But that's life. Not much we can do about it, you know? Just get through. We've also decided to stay our current apartment for another year instead of trying to move a month before the wedding.

We still have to do a few things.
  • Order rings
  • Get my dress altered
  • Get his new boots and hat
  • Figure out a seating chart
  • Make centerpieces
  • Order flowers
  • Get the marriage license (I think we can do this next month)
  • Menu tasting
  • Get bridal party and parent gifts
I... think that's it? I'm not sure. I have a checklist somewhere.

I know! It's so weird! And I will post pics :) We did our engagement pics three weeks ago, but haven't seen any yet. I'm going to email our photographer to ask, since she'd said she'd have a sneak peek for us within a few days.

You're in countdown double digits! I can't wait to see your engagement photos. I know they turned out beautifully!

Enjoy this time. It's hectic, stressful, and exciting.

PS: Happy Belated Birthday! :bday:

How exciting, once you're in double digits time flies by so quickly! Can't wait to see your engagement pics.

Double digit dance!! :cool1:

I can't wait to see some of your engagement pictures once you get them! Only a few months left!

We're still waiting on the rest of them, but our photographer did post one on Facebook a week or so ago! I'll post it in a bit :teeth:

Yes, it really is. Especially with everything else we've got going on right now.

Thanks! :teeth:

I know! We're down to 81 days (and two and a half hours, according to my countdown app). It's insane! We've gotten one picture back so far, and our photographer is still working on the rest. I'll post the one we have in a few :)

99 days? WOW!

I KNOW!

Eleven weeks and four days left! I think I'm driving DF a little crazy with that :lmao:

WHERE IS THE TIME GOING OMG

So we're down to eleven weeks and four days until the wedding. WHAT.

We paid off the honeymoon this morning, so that's all taken care of! We're going to purchase Memory Maker, but I want to make sure that we won't accidentally activate it on one of our random park days.

We'll be getting Matt his new boots sometime this weekend, I think. Our schedules are a little crazy because BOTH sets of parents are in the state at the same time. Mine are visiting my uncle, who had a stroke back on Easter, and his are currently in Tampa for a baseball game. We're hoping to try and get everyone together for lunch on Thursday, but that might not happen. I got selected for some sort of recruiting photo shoot at work ( :confused3:confused3:confused3) and it's on Thursday. The problem is that I also am currently on light duty with restrictions that I can't lift, push, or pull anything more than five pounds and am supposed to wear splints at all times. So I'm not sure if I'll still be involved in that or if they'll reschedule or what. At any rate, we'll figure it out.

Last month, we took our engagement photos at the Poly and Wilderness Lodge! We haven't received them all back yet, and our photographer said it can take up to ten weeks. We did get one sneak peek, and we might be getting another soon (his parents want to run an engagement announcement in their local paper, so I emailed her this morning). So here's the one we got!

I love it! I can't wait to see the rest of them :teeth: There's this one she showed me on her camera while we were there. I have a tendency to bite Matt's lip sometimes when we're kissing, and I caught him pretty good and she got his reaction on camera :teeth: We're going to be using our pictures for a guest book for the wedding, and maybe print some out for hanging around the apartment. We're leaning toward Shutterfly, but does anyone have any recommendations for other photo book companies?

We made our engagement book via Shutterfly when we got one of those 'Free Photobook' coupons and it honestly does the trick. I don't like it much now, but that has more to do with the design choices I made at the time :) If you want any canvases around the home I highly, highly recommend Canvas on Demand - they run a lot of Groupons so they are very affordable and good quality!

Eleven weeks!!!!!!!!!!
