Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

So for all my Northern States (and fellow Canadian) Run Disney Veterans....is Florida in November going to feel cold or hot? I am a Tink sized girl, who is habitually "freezing" in our chillier climates (I live in Ontario) and have only ever been to Disney in August temps, which I am totally fine with! So, I am packing for every eventuality, but would love some anecdotal feedback too.

We did the Wine & Dine weekend last year and it was hot and humid- we were at WDW in August and it was similar temps. That said, we have been there in November other years and needed light jackets. I plan on bringing only tank tops to run the 5 & 10k (not runnning 1/2) and maybe a long sleeve shirt to wear in the corrals and maybe one light jacket for evenings. In summary- overpacking again!

I've been off the boards for a few days, so sorry for the annoying question...

How can I figure out corral assignments at this stage? I was able to get our waivers so I have bib numbers...

Check the "Corral and Bib Assignment" link for your race here https://www.rundisney.com/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/
It lists the corral's by the range of your Bib number

EDIT: I thought it downloaded the PDF's, but I was wrong, they open in the browser.

I am also not sure what to pack as well. I live in Saskatchewan and my runs lately have been in the cold and the snow so I might be taking all sorts of options just in case of just about anything.

I'm in a similar situation. I run a space heater under my desk at work YEAR ROUND ( in Illinois). I'm going to pack for ALL 4 seasons for this trip. We did go to Food and Wine fest last year, but about 2 wks earlier than this race weekend. The kids wore shorts and tanks every day and just put on thin long sleeves for the evenings. I think I'll get a cheap-o zip up hoodie for the early am while we're getting to and waiting in corrals and just ditch it when im hot cuz i hate being cold. It will wear me out shivering before the race and I need that energy for running!!
I'm an Iowa boy and my wife and I are planning on shorts or capris for her and shorts and t's for me for race mornings. We did Marathon in Jan and it was upper 60's with high humidity that morning. I wouldn't have wanted to be in anything but shorts and t-shirt. By that night we needed jackets and pants (just wish that cold front had come through a few hours earlier). I would plan for at least one long sleeve shirt and maybe a jacket for nights (after party) just to be safe.

I'm packing some pants, jacket, hoodie & my Dopey sweatshirt for park touring if I need them. For the races I'm wearing tanks and skorts, but I'll bring a few throwaway items just in case for waiting in the corrals along with mylars. I figure pack a little of everything just in case.

Courtesy of runDisneyrun on Facebook...some of the Wine & Dine Weekend pins! There is a strong possibility that these are the pre-order pins for the 5K, half marathon and challenge. No sign of the possible 10K pin yet.

Per the post: "Courtesy of someone in China who is near the factory and selling them on eBay. Caveat: These may be scrappers so not as perfect as those at race weekend, Disney has high standards for pin manufacturing."

Further in the comments there is an addition picture of the back of one of the pins and it has the race sponsor stamped on it - apparently this increases the chances that these pins are legit. I'm not a big pin person, so who knows.

EDIT: I embedded these in a spoiler tag because if they are truly the real pins, they may give us a good idea of what the race shirts look like. :)

The pins are very cool! I'm not a pin collector at all as I see it as simply a major money grab by the Mouse, but these actually are pretty cool and represent and accomplishment. Glad I pre-ordered the Challenge one for the Mrs. when I registered her (ssshhh, don't tell her).....she's more the runner in the family.

I'll be happy if those are the pins!

And yes, I wish the guide was a pdf so I could download. Then I wouldn't have to be online to read it - such as when I'm at work or on the plane.

I hope that is the pin for the half and that it's used on the jacket too. Anxious to see what the stuff I preordered looks like.

I haven't found a way yet. If you want the maps, clicking on the button will take you to a PDF and you can print those. If you just want the text, you can highlight it to copy/paste it into a document or something. I'd have rather they did it like a document like I found before. :(
This seems very "low tech" doesn't it? My kids make powerpoint slides that are more functional (ie: you can PRINT them) than this one. This is my first runD race. What format was the old event guide? I read they were doing something different this year....

THIS is me to a tee!! I've kept the mylars (space blankets) from past races this year, to wrap myself in the corrals!

We always grab a mylar blanket, even if it's not cold at the finish. The California races are usually much cooler in the mornings. We will be bringing some to the Wine & Dine depending on the weather.
