In your opinion what is the most overrated thing in WDW?

No one has said this yet, so I'm bracing myself here, but...Hall of Presidents. No matter how moderate they try to make it with pretty generic statements about America to avoid sounding like they're on either "side", you always have some guests who feel the need to loudly express their disapproval for certain presidents when all the names are read aloud. It makes it really hard for me to enjoy the attraction. I like it for the air conditioning and relaxation, but it's difficult to relax when people are booing.
AGREE!

I started to put the dining plan, but the more I thought about it, its kind of all the food. I want to like it. I really do. We have been going to the Food and Wine for the last several years and were planning on going this year. I keep trying all the food that people claim are yummy (I hate that word) and I just don't get it. So many things are over salted and just lack flavor.

I told DH the other day I am thinking of just cancelling the whole trip and going to NOLA this year instead.

After reading thread title, the first immediate thing that came to mind was the nasty Dole whip.
bought one threw out most of it,
on next trip tried one again gave it a second chance threw it out.

Me too. Years ago I thought it was amazing. Now......not so much.

When I think of overrated attractions, I think of popular, unjustified wait times.

MK- Peter Pan: it's a classic, we love it, always FP it. But I wonder how many people feed into its popularity cuz it garners the 2nd longest wait times. I'd probably prioritize HM and Pirates more if wait times were equal.

HS- RnR: it's fun, but the duration of fun does not equate to the abundant line waiting. Prefer a 5th time of TSMM- if my arm hasn't fallen off, and ToT over the 82 seconds of loop-de-looping

EP- FEA: the queue is sorta neat, but I think I actually enjoy spotting a Mickey made of cabbage on Living w/ the Land more.

AK- don't really have a good one here. this may end up being NRJ from what folks are stating, but when they had the parades, I either resolved to not get stuck watching it or leave the park altogether. It shouldn't, but it sometimes bugs me slightly when guests are enamored by certain aspects of Safari not to be mentioned.

Every parade, MK fireworks/castle projection shows, and Illuminations. I can't figure out why people camp out for these things. I was forced to watch the electrical parade trying to leave MK last time and it was a nightmare. I'd rather ride rides. With that said, I LOVE Peter Pan and Tiki Room and they are must dos for me. I also really enjoyed BOG dinner, but thought it was better than lunch.
Have you seen Happily Ever After?? It is AWESOME.

Okay this is hard but I am going with Le Cellier. We used to LOVE it when they had their lunch menu. Now they serve the same things at both and a family of 4 WILL DROP over 200 bucks to eat there. Yes the food is good. I will say that but it is NOT WORTH 54 bucks for a steak. We just ate there a few days ago and OH I DO LOVE that soup but will probably skip it from now on. THE FOOD IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

I never gave my answer... American Adventure.

Incredibly boring, awful song, and I don't want to hear about how great America is for a half hour... especially these days.

I would love to see them tear it down and put another country there instead.
I took a nap there this past week. :)

About the character meet and greets being overrated... When I was younger and our kids were young the characters kind of wandered around and interacted with kids randomly. My son was terrified of them. My girls were amused but not enthralled. I bribed them into posing with Mickey one Christmas. We were all a little puzzled when the autograph fad started. Then people started to walk over each other to line up for an interaction and things got crazy.

Ironically, my silly girls ran out of their shoes as young adults, to catch up with and have their photo taken with Wolverine at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

I don't really hate anything! Here in California I LOVE POTC...not so much in Florida! I'm just used to having the two drops and the burning logs plus the lay out is a bit different. Although I understand why they did it that way. I love pretty much everything accept all the walking!lol

Illuminations...my daughter HATES fireworks, so we've always skipped it. We finally dragged her 17 year old self to watch it this year and it was such a snoozer. I thought Fantastic was slightly better, but neither one comes close to comparing to Wishes or HEA. I would wait for a couple of hours to watch HEA again, but for Illumination, I'd be heading to the parking lot and spending an hour at the pool instead.

And I agree with the previous comment about food allergies and the Dole Whip. I'm allergic to dairy and it was so amazing to be able to have.

I'm looking forward to so many of your listed things lol. How ever I have always disliked the bug show in dca.
