Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Anybody recall or have any info on pool hours for early May? I know they change but any info would be helpful.

Great, thanks! Only like seeing one type of crane on the savannah.

We just left and there were cranes out on our view. I believe they were also doing some refurbs down this wing on the 4th floor as well. The hall was closed in with a door and workers going in and out of the hall.

I’m interested in how fast they do these refurbs, this is our first time staying at AKL and i’d hate to see or hear a lot of construction from our room since we plan to spend a lot of time on our balcony watching the animals. Last year we were at the GF and outside of our building they were jack hammering the side walks/pathways and it was awful we couldn’t sit outside and enjoy our outdoor space because of the noise (during the daytime hours, not at night of course) and then they were painting inside the building and so it was a decent amount of small refurbishment work happening in our building. I’m hoping to avoid that this year if possible, though I know refurbs have to happen...

We were in room 4343 in Jambo. See below. we stayed for 8 days and never heard any construction noise. Although, we leave early in the morning and come back late in the afternoon so we weren't in the room during construction hours. It looked like they used the cranes just for painting.

Bummer! Arriving in 11 days for a mostly resort stay and were requesting the same wing and view as you. Back to the drawing board. . .

Hey guys. I am looking at booking a trip for the first weekend of December. We have not been to Disney since 2008. So much has changed. We are thinking about booking club level. What are your thoughts about that? We normally stay club level at the universal properties.

So excited booked 3 days bunk bed Savannah bunk beds.. We requested close to an elevator due to my mom is fighting and beating cancer:).. Any room recommendations? This trip is more for her to relax and enjoy the hotel and view.

TIA

I would like to know from all of you experts, what building has the best animal/savanna action, I know it is up to the animals but some of you have to have a favorite part of the resort?

Frederic Awesome!!!!
I am so excited to be staying at AKL for the first time in two weeks, 2 connecting rooms savanna view. This was a hard switch for me because we always stay at SOG. The price difference was very very hard to swallow for me plus the amazing room sizes at SOG always win hands down since we do spend a lot of time in our room and at our resort. It was time for our family to try something new and after doing research on every resort, AKL beat out every other resort including SAB pool because DS9, DS8, and DD4 saw that the AKL pool is the biggest on property ( Plus the animals but that goes without saying ). Everything that Frederic mentioned in his post was exactly what we saw. Thank you for making me even more excited about our upcoming trip!

Hey, let us know how you like it, once your trip is over! Thanks

We are driving down and arrive Saturday!! How does bell services work? We usually just take our own luggage to the rooms but are thinking we want help at AKL. So do we just pull up to the front and they help us or what do we do?

Yes, just pull up to the front and they will take your luggage to bell services and give you a ticket. When you get to your room just dial bell service and they will send the luggage to your room. Usually takes about 15 mins for them to get to your room. Don't forget to tip!

We arrive late in the evening and will have our luggage with us on DME. When we get our bell ticket, can I also remind them that we have groceries that were delivered? Do I need to hang out at bell services and wait for those? Will they bring those together when I call from the room? We'll be in a hurry to settle into bed.

Thank you!!
Should we tip both times? When we leave the luggage and when they deliver?
