Any FL recommendations around Orlando and Tampa? I'm digging around to see if anything else speaks to us... DH would be perfectly happy going back to Universal for 2 days but I think it would also be a good time to see other things if we want. Weve been to Kennedy Space Center but that's it really.

I was in Chicago but moved to Michigan. I kept using MDW for SW nonstops to MCO for most of the 1st couple of years. But Delta has really reasonable flights out of Detroit to the little airport where my DH lives. I found that I really like DTW, it's an awesome airport with several Delta lounges. They are also one of the few airlines that flies into Melbourne which is super convenient for me to visit my vaca home. I used to hate Delta but I think they have upped their game. They and DTW are a winning combination for me. The flight I take to MLB is through ATL you should see if that is a reasonable option for you, in case you wanted to visit the Vero Beach area :)
I hear you on the Plat but it gets me into the Delta lounges (DTW and ATL) for free, that with reimbursing me $150 for my 3 week old Ray Ban's (lost in the Atlantic while at Vero) within 24 hours of my claim with no questions asked makes it my favorite card.
I think the Plat is a great card! I enjoyed having it for a year but it's not a keeper for me. I definitely can see why some choose to keep it though!

You know I want to visit the Vero Beach area so I will look into my options from DEN>ATL>MLB. I'm sitting on a pile of Delta miles so could be an option :D

Was able to book our flights to DC for April. I used a credit Alaska had given us for two severely delayed and miserable flights. Total $155 to get my family of 8 to DC nonstop from Seattle. 😊 Definitely happy with that one. I'm super nervous waiting until January for SW points and CPs will result in a crazy high points redemption for our flights home, but I promised DH this would be a budget trip, and I need my URs for future trips.

Side note: I'm having a heck of a time finding a Hilton for hotels. I thought Homewood Suites would work, but the ones close to downtown only sleep 6. So we are going to need two regular rooms and they are all showing 60,000 points/night.

I know Away luggage has been talked about a lot here, but how does everyone feel about the expandable nylon luggage!?

In good news, I qualified for a free year trial of Apple+ TV. When the iPhone11 came out, the iPhone8 dropped in price and I wanted wireless charging capability (because of my new car). Well, Apple is offering the free year trial to anyone who bought a new iDevice since 9/10/19. I bought my phone on 9/11/19! So far I can't really tell if it's good, but it's free so that's good.
Thanks so much for mentioning this! I just bought a new 11 so should be eligible. I was intrigued by See. Yes, because of my moon and stars :) Love him.

Busy credit card night here.

DH applied for the CIC and called and it is pending with the "2 weeks" message, so I hope that means he will get approved soon.

DH called and got a 15K MRs for a $2K spend as a retention offer on his Amex Gold card.

And, finally, the AF on DH's CIP posted and he doesn't want the card anymore. Is there any harm in canceling this one (he hasn't canceled lots of Chase cards in the past)? Or is it a better idea to PC it (he would really rather cancel it but will PC it if necessary).
It’s fine to cancel the CIP

Newest Platicorn holder :yay: That’s how I party on Saturday night 😂

Instant approval through cardmatch. Card # in hand and ready to start spending.

I’m assuming they’ll give me an MR# since this is my first Amex card, or do I need to sign up for that now? I haven’t had a chance to look.

Super happy to be a part of the, how does @Lain put it, “high maintenance mistress club” LOL!
Congrats party:

Just a comment on DC hotels in April. That is a very popular time so hotel rooms will be high. Usually in the $300+ range for even the 3 star hotels.

Does anyone know if you can refer from a Delta Gold Biz to a Delta platinum Biz? I know there is some Amex trick to refer from one card to different cards. Wasn’t sure about the Delta cards.

I haven't but I've seen reports of them indeed coding as cash advance for Chase so if PayPal warns you that could happen I would definitely not do it. It's a recent change in the last couple week :(
but if you reduce your CA limit and then send more than that using a cc ,it won't go thru at all, right?

"around"???? hmmmm how close? I personally liked the area down around Fort Meyers, and the Estero beach islands for a few days (Loved the Edison estate area) and I like West Palm Beach coast area.....(and up thru Jupiter etc) lots to see and explore (I love old school kitschy tourist stuff tho) also found plenty to do around the Everglades on the eastern side on down..... I also liked finding Manatee state park type places at the right time of year like Blue Springs,or the wildlife areas on Merritt Island on the space coast....I find Florida a very interesting state. I guess it depends on what you like- I've read a lot of 'Florida off the beaten path' type guidebooks over the years....

My parents have been in Naples since the late 80s and I still haven’t made it to the Edison estate. Need to put this on my list.
