Also Randall's (at least in my area). Most of the savings come from cash-back at grocery credit cards and fuel perks, so harder to find real bargains than for DGCs, imho.

Moreover, (and this is more directed to LuckyMamaInDE and CyndiLouWho) I have found using Universal GCs to be much MUCH more of a pain than Disney GCs. I've used them to pay off rooms and room charges at RPR, PBH, and HRH, and each time, there was a problem with one of the cards that took a while to sort out. I've also used them for food and merchandise in the parks, and frequently encountered CMs who don't know how to use them properly. YMMV of course, and I do keep using them, but be aware of the potential headaches for the ~10%-ish savings.
I just got back from UO. I didn't use gift cards for the room but used them for meals, snacks, parking, etc. The only place I had a problem was Bubba Gump--something about them being the only restaurant that's third-party so they are on a different system. I also had one gift card that wouldn't swipe so RPR had to manually type in the number to cover my parking. All in all I would say it was a non-issue.

I don't understand what is happening. :scared: My DH doesn't want to apply for another card. He says he's tires of keeping track of everything and we need to take a break. I said, you've just a had a 3 month break from your last Chase card...you're 4/24. You desperately need another business card. He said NO!. He's done for now. He says I can ask him again in March. :eeyore:
My DH won't even entertain the idea :(
Sorry to hear this......but this hobby isn't fun for everyone. I would probably get a similar response from DW IF I involved her. Usually the only time she knows she has a new card is if I ask her to sign the back of it. She is the major breadwinner in our family, but I don't seek her approval for opening new cards and she doesn't want to get involved anyway. I appreciate not everyone has the same option to do that within their relationship.

What I can say is....it has definitely helped that she can see the benefits - for example, we are heading to Orlando for 5 days next month - Flights, Hotel, tickets - all on points. This is one of those trips we just wouldn't have taken if we didn't have the points. All I ask of her is an occasional phone call to close a card.

Is there something your DH wants that you could bribe him with? You could use the 'If we get this card, I could use some of the bonus to buy you that XXXXX you have been wanting'

Find a way that he doesn't have to 'keep track of everything' - my DW tires of that pretty quickly - especially if I keep telling her she used the wrong card......AGAIN!! :p
I make twice as much as DH so luckily I'm not dependent on him for income verification but I did included his income on one recent occasion because it was really important for me to be approved and I was a bit nervous. My DH hates to travel and he is credit adverse. I'm sure he also thinks I will "nag" him to go somewhere if I have more points, so it's probably his way of slowing my roll lol. I would love the relationship you have worked out, I should look further into trying to bribe him, he does love free (as long as it's not travel).
I am totally going to be a zombie at work tomorrow today. Here's to 2020 and better sleep habits 🤣
Yes, so important. I am using the Sleep Cycle app, it's interesting to me and I think does help just as an fyi .

My dd19 will not be returning this semester, of course, but if she was, she would start back Jan 21. My dd17 resumes college on Jan 22. They both were done back on Dec 10. I find it such a long break and agree that it'd be nicer to have more days off during the semester.
Glad he isn’t the only one, I was beginning to think so, He moves back in the dorm on 1/25 and classes resume on 1/27. So excited for your DD!!!

Have any of you take a ring somewhere to get the diamond tightened? My main diamond on my engagement ring is slightly loose. We don’t have a Jared near us. I went to Kay and they said it would take 10 business days to send it in and cost $53. Do I just have to bite the bullet and pay for it? I’m really nervous sending my ring in but I don’t want the diamond falling out either
I used to work for an independent jewelry store. We offered options. You could pay more and schedule a time to bring it in when a gold Smith was onsite. You could have it hand delivered to one of our gold smiths and it would take about a week. You could leave it and pick it up in two days for the on-site gold smith. Depending on the quality of your setting and prongs will determine the cost of the repair. I would check around and see what they say. If only one prong needs rebuilding vs all. If you aren’t comfortable sending it out you should have some where it stays on site. Almost all your chain jewelry stores send it out since they don’t have an on-site gold smith.

Yep, hence the frowny face, we don't have either in our neck of the woods :( I think both chains do GC online but it wouldn't code as grocery and any additional points earned would be worthless. The only Kroger store out this way is Littman Jewelers as far as I can tell, but I doubt we can convert grocery/gas points for gold

However the reports of Randall's and Safeway are encouraging and maybe one day they'll come more northeast for us. Uni is definitely a different path to discount.

I need some help... So we have only stayed at AOA and POP and for this upcoming trip the new offer does not include preferred rooms at POP and we have a preferred pool res. Looks like we can upgrade to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside (Garden View) for $30 more than what we already committed to, or French Quarter (Pool View) for $275 more. I moved our POP res to POFQ but I am still not sure what one is better. Anyone stayed at either or both and have any suggestions? So far just booked POFQ because only one bus stop and looks more compact. We have a split stay, last three days will be at AOA Nemo suite so we'll get our theme fix so why the decision to try something else.

I've had such a spendy weekend, good god.

We bought a new couch for the basement and two rugs. And I just booked a tour on Viator "Old San Juan and Bacardi Factory" for fun before the Disney cruise next month. Of course there was no new MSR to fulfill. :rolleyes2 Furniture is so expensive. #AdultingSucks

I am sad because DH will be gone on business all next and I will be lonely. I will be relying on your guys to keep me company.
I love the Bacardi Factory tour....we just drove over on our own a few years back...

Having stayed at both Riverside and French Quarter, I prefer French Quarter. It’s a nice small resort - even the furthest building is no more than a 7-10 minute walk to the bus stop. However, it looks like you would be paying $245 more to stay there over Riverside. If that’s the case, I would save some money and stay at Riverside.

Try an independent jeweler. I got my ring done in-house. I did leave it with them for a few days, but they didn't send it anywhere.

So according to my charts I should have gone under 5/24 on 11/21. I applied for the CIP this weekend and got a message that they were reviewing it. How do I check the status again?

Hope everyone had a great holiday and new year to start! And darn....I didn't even see that there was a V3 of this thread, LOL.
