News Round Up 2020

Any news on Test Track? It was supposed to reopen this morning but it's been listed as Temporarily Closed in MDE all day. I saw some tweets about soft openings yesterday so I'm a bit surprised that it didn't reopen...

Due to it's location in the France pavilion and that area already being open at park opening, I would be shocked if RAT doesn't open at 9am park opening. The bakery in France is open at that time so there wouldn't need to be any new walkways opened, just the queue to the ride.
That's good to know. I have potentially two days planned at Epcot (oddly) in an upcoming trip since we will be on the Skyliner .. and one of our days may simply be to do all of World Showcase .. being able to hit RAT at rope drop from the International Gateway should seemingly be a pretty good strategy (if can't get a FP, which I have my doubts considering how hard any new FP is to get unless you have a 5+ day trip (which I don't since we are staying offsite for some of it) ....

Considering the long walk the front gaters have to make to get all the way in the back corner, rope dropping RAT from the International Gateway may mean it is not very crowded early in the morning (IF it opens at 9:00 AM).

The tiers will be interesting to find out .. I would HOPE if they add RAT to Tier 1 (which makes sense) something else will drop off of Tier 1. Having the only four rides (worth doing) at Epcot in Tier 1 will be ugly :(.

Also have to find out when Rat will open (every day). Doesn't most of the World Showcase (and its attractions) (except Frozen) open at like 11 AM?

I am assuming (due to popularity) and the awful construction at the front of the park --- it will open with Future World like Frozen does. I would think that the International Gateway will be the preferred entrance of choice trying to rope drop RAT.

I think FEA, Remy and Harminious go Tier 1. Everything else (eg. Soarin' and TT) to Tier 2.

Maybe someone with better knowledge of this can clear this up for me. I could have sworn based on some concept art that the railroad was to go through a part of the Tron building. Does this mean that the railroad really won't open again until Tron is finished?
Yes .. the train will go under/through the Tron building, so I think this story was pointing out the "non-tunnel" track that was ripped up for construction (retention pond is being replaced). I don't think the train will be making a full circuit any time soon (at least with guests).

I wonder what that means to Kennedy's future. You would think Spielberg would have stuck with it just for Kennedy. Maybe his exits is a signal of her exit.

Or maybe he just wants more time to help his daughter's acting career get off the ground.
I saw his kids' band open at a concert I went to a few years ago. I liked them well enough, but all of the article I read about the band mentioned that they wouldn't have had the (small) level of success without their father's influence. I found it convenient that the band they were opening for described themselves as "cinematic indie pop." I'm sure they weren't hoping for an in with Spielberg at all 🤣
