It's automatic.I'm trying to keep up with this..... do we need to apply for this,or is it an automatic thing?

If you really need to get her attention, unplug the internet
Seriously, sounds like a hard worker, though!
House passed stimulus bill
when do they start mailing checks?
I looked at Instacart first, but I didn't like the stores that use it here. The three I remember were Publix, CVS, and Aldis.
I hope I live long and prosper tooI read somewhere that the Airline bailout included ticket agents and travel agencies. Not sure how that works but it was listed as 'special deals'.
I'm not sure what industry/service you are connected to. Whatever it is I hope you live long and prosper.
It’s hard being Chinese right now.
It might be faster to pick up from the White House yourself! In all seriousness, I don't think anyone knows WHEN yet...when do they start mailing checks?
I had previously read that if you filed and had a refund direct deposited, they would use that bank information. Not sure about the reverse scenario you describe, ie. owing and mailing a check. Obviously direct deposits of the stimulus will be much faster. If you have to await a check it could take weeks.Piggybacking on this: Since I've been paying each year, not collecting refunds, will I end up with a check, or will they somehow have my bank account from the checks I've sent in? Not really expecting a definitive answer here, and actually expecting a check, hopefully in time for Xmas!

I wonder how far back they look? We have paid the last couple years, but in the past had a refund direct deposited. If the IRS (nor SS Administration, if retired) don't know your banking information, then I think they will have to mail a check.

I am so, so sorry. Even before things blew up here in NYC, Asian NYers were feeling the brunt--our City Council leader held a press conference encouraging people to come to Chinatown because the businesses there were suffering due to stigma. At my agency we saw an uptick in discrimination reports from Chinese New Yorkers. It's sad and scary and reminds me of 9/11. I was in college at the time, and remember walking my Muslim classmate home because she was scared to walk the streets alone with hijab. Muslim shops in my neighborhood had US flags flying just to keep them from being vandalized. Fear does ugly things to people.
I live in Brooklyn and for my last grocery run I intentionally went to Brooklyn's Chinatown even though it's out of my way. The stores have everything ever on the shelves but more than that, these are small business owners just grateful for the help. As a queer Black woman especially I feel like it's my duty. I know what it's like to be othered and blamed. We should be coming together and looking out for each other in times like these. Having to deal with the same scary stuff that everyone is, and then adding racism to it...it's just too much.

News for those with college cut short students:
University system of Maryland is going to process partial refunds.
Not sure if other colleges have started refunding or not.
not yet collecting social security - but now see a good reason to start sooner rather than later. I'm retired and have medicare as well as health benefits from my former job, but figured I'd wait a few years and just have not gotten around to collecting. I'm pretty passive about money anyway.
There's no doubt in my mind the 'government' has my banking info - somewhere - lol! Just not as a venue to deposit refunds for me.
This is a pretty rare event, so I'm not sure I would start taking SS just for this, especially if you don't need the money right now. I think by not taking SS, your benefit increases by 5% every year from 62 to Full Retirement Age, then 8% for every year after that up to 72.
Thanks for the tips. I sent a DM a couple of hours ago and just checked and my miles are in my account!!! They will refund the charges to my card. They mentioned in their response that the miles redeposit wasn’t automatic and had to be requested.I clicked on the envelope in the Twitter App at the bottom of the screen, then the other envelope for 'new message' and entered @AmericanAir to compose my message.
As an aside, I also saw the option to cancel on the AA website - with the same message that my miles would be safe - but it wasn't clear if they would redeposit my miles or hold them for a future booking (which doesn't make sense on a miles booking) - but I had seen conflicting accounts online.
Publix is extremely overpriced in my opinion and I’ve never had any issues with produce from target. I definitely wouldn’t be buying anything from a bakery right now. We don’t normally get stuff from the bakery anyway though. Normally we get groceries from Walmart but they have less options right now than target as far as what can be delivered in my areaI had to come back on this - how can you possibly like Target over Publix?? And I personally prefer Aldi to what's in Target's produce aisle. I know this is a personal type thing, and I've shopped at Target lots of times, but mostly with a gift card and rarely found much extra value.
Plus, Publix has the bakery!! Again - just a personal opinion! (Which I couldn't keep to myself.)
