Got my WDW May30-Jun06 trip moved to mid July. Its going to be HOT but seems like it will be more likely to happen. Took an hour on the phone to get the first reservation moved, He had some system issues but I got Free QS Dinning and upgraded to Preferred Pool from Preferred and saved $350. They didn't require park hopper, but I got hit with the ticket and hotel price increases that happened since the original booking. He could not touch the second reservation, said it was locked from view so gave me another number to call since that number was not allowing transfers... Called that and got a recording to email them as they are WFH. Ended up calling WDW Guest Services with the case number and got it moved with no wait.

Soooooo, Who's been to WDW in July?? How crazy am I for doing this?
Been there in July several times, including last summer. Love it when it's really hot. Rope drop, return to resort around noon, go back for supper until close.

3 questions:

so since I have to set up a different “business” login for my cip can I do that online or do I have to go into a branch (We might have my cip MSR all wrapped up with purchasing a new wood boiler woohoo!)

Question 2:
Frontier sent me an email offering to turn my $461 credit (that I have to use/book by 6-22-2020) into 80k miles that I have to use (does this also mean use/book??) by 9-1-2020. Again, I know almost nothing about air travel “deals” etc but I’m wondering if this is a better offer than just the credit. Anyone have an insight?

Question 3:
I should probably look for the post about pacing and I think the answer is 3 months, regardless, BUT if DH got his cip around 3/1 does he need to wait until 6/1 to apply for a cf or cfu?

Very good credit card news - Amex offered a $500 statement credit, no additional spend, to keep my Amex Plat for another year. That's perfect as I don't have any other Amex cards and I want to grab more amex cards before I risk the pop up. Thanks to all who mentioned calling in for a retention offer.

1- I was able to set up the new business login for my DHs CIP online

2- not familiar with Frontier sorry

3- yes 3 months is the recommenced Chase pacing, but if he hasn’t opened a lot of Chase cards prior to the 3/1 application you could do 2 months if the timing works for you

How often does AMEX run promos on transferring points to travel partners, mainly hotels? I decided my small stash of MR points would be more useful to us as Hilton points since we don't have any air travel plans outside of SW in the near future. I don't have an immediate use for the points with everything on hold, but I wasn't sure how often transfer promos come around. Does Marriott ever do a transfer promo with AMEX? I could see that possibly being beneficial if we wanted to transfer and do a 5th night free on Swan/ Dolphin sometime.

I was approved for a CIC today! I was going to hold off on going for another card since we're spending almost no money right now, but since Amex is now allowing another 3 months to meet MSR and I'm just over halfway through my Gold MSR, I decided to go for it. Worst case scenario, I pick up a bunch of VGCs with my CIC and pay the fee.

One more chase refund comment--URs are already back in my account. I think they said it could take 1-2 billing cycles. Still waiting from the URs for Royal Caribbean refund but I'm sure those will take longer.
was your cruise coming up soon?

I think for this trip we'll either buy a case of water and pack some or something because I'm sure we'll drink a lot.

We always order two cases of water from Amazon Prime as well as some stuff for DD to snack on. I am totally considering the possibility of taking a stroller for DD7 just to so we can store the cooler under it full of bottled water! We've had the stroller every trip before but we have not been for 1.5 years now, she's small but I don't think that small, going to have to get it out and see how funny it looks. Also if we are going to be pushing on late into the evenings this could come in handy to get back to the busses. We just booked the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage with the savings from free dinning so thats a plus!

Question about Alaska Air. I have a friend that has a flight booked for May. She was going to go to Aulani. When she asked about cancelling her flight they told her she would get a travel voucher good for a year from when she purchased the flight. That won’t work well for her. Any idea if she waits it to see if they cancel the flight ( if they do) if she would be able to get a refund instead? I’ve never flown with them and she asked my advice.

Long story but no. It was for next spring break. But my ex was supposed to have the kids this spring break and I always have them and thought I should offer it to him. Plus I'm betting on my Alaska cruise being cancelled this summer so I figure I'll rebook that next summer and think two cruises in three or four months sounds like overkill. Plus I'd rather be a little more liquid and the cruise lines are making me nervous.

yes, if they refuse to refund her(only offer her travel credit), have her file a complaint with DOT. @gottalovepluto was in a similar situation, she got a call from the airlines a day(i think) after filing a complaint to DOT and got a refund.

something to read for more info --> https://onemileatatime.com/dot-flight-refund-rules/

Fingers are crossed I'll be there. My plan is park in the morning, pool afternoon, park in the evening. Bonus, we or at least I, tend to eat less when hot so food expense might be a little lower lol I think for this trip we'll either buy a case of water and pack some or something because I'm sure we'll drink a lot.
We always have water in the room and carry a bottle each time we leave for a park. But we have stopped buying nearly as much, and hardly any in the parks. We just grab the free cups of ice water from all the QS places. Super refreshing and saves a ton of money.

She is entitled to a cash refund if they cancel the flight, and only then. If they do cancel the flight she gets a full cash refund. If AS refuses that go the DoT route but I don’t think they’ve been doing that to people, UA and JB have been the biggest violators of that. If the flight runs, no refund. Her risk of not accepting the voucher now is AS pulls the offer of a voucher if stuff starts clearing up.

I will say that going without the stroller for the first time is scary. It is so convenient to store stuff. But once you go without you will realize it is freeing! You don't really need all the "stuff". Now I try to go as minimal as possible. Usually just a drawstring bag if ponchos are needed. No bag if it looks like no rain. We each carry our own water bottle and then refill as needed. The water is not the best at the parks, but it is better than carrying too much stuff.

... Question 3:

IIRC the general rule is 3 months between business cards, and 2 months between personal cards. So I think that means you can go for the CF or CFU 5/1

Thanks, I will let her know.
