Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I still have a YC CL booking from 1 July. I am beginning to feel lonely!😂
I so hope you get your vacation.:wizard: I had club level booked at BWI July 3-11, but too many unknowns was driving my anxiety up to the sky. So, to be healthy again I changed our trip, for the the fourth time, to November 20-29. Who knows if that trip will come to fruition, but for now I’m having fun replanning a holiday trip.

You have just created a very special trip. I love it! :beach:
I hope so! I have two teenage daughters and we have done many family Disney trips. We usually stay active throughout the day so having partial park day and lounging cabana time sounds fabulous. This is just us girls this trip and shopping at night at hopefully Epcot or Disney Spring should be fun.

I have a 1 br suite at CR booked for late July. Should I be worried now or do you think they'll honor those existing CL reservations?

I have several CL reservations all summer, so same boat.

Obviously impossible to know what exactly the mouse is up to with CL at the moment. If they do intend to have a period with absolutely no CL offerings or lounge access during a stay, I would expect to be contacted at some point about recovery options - be it to change to a non-CL rate or some other type of recovery (Eg, room service or restaurant/lounge vouchers, or something like that). Of course I’m speculating there.

Disney is ‘usually’ pretty good about contacting/reaching out to guests who have something material happen to a resort reservation which requires a change, so I generally have that same expectation here.

Of course with CR being one of the resorts to not have ANY room availability until late Sept at the moment, I’ll let smarter people than me try to figure that one out and what it may mean.

Should you be worried? I am opting not to worry about things we don’t know/can’t control (which I know is easier said than done). But some of these signs sure sound like something is up, so I’m trying to take a one day at a time approach and let my attitude roll with whatever may happen.

I hope it works out for you - if you’ve never stayed in one, the 1BRs at CR are awesome.

My best guess is worst case the room will be honored but the club might be closed. I would probably add some dining reservations if there’s anything you’d like to do in case the club is closed.

I hope your trip works out, both for being able to go and for a nice CL experience :wizard:.

I cancelled/rescheduled 3x and am currently contemplating an early August trip, but I'm leaning toward no for Aug and maybe trying for Oct.....or just wait until our Dec trip. Planning is usually half the fun for me, but at the moment, not so much. I hope November works out for you :).

Sounds like an awesome trip! Hope it works out :goodvibes.

MTE. We have a YC stays booked for July & September. I have absolutely no expectation of the July trip happening, but I’m not cancelling a thing at this point. Luckily the airlines are being flexible, so I’m just waiting Disney out. Easier for me to do with a trip already planned in September that looks like a pretty sure thing. And thanks to posts on here, I’m now more worried about deciding if I should try to plan a trip for 10/1/21. ;)

We have a July trip booked at Poly for our anniversary (not CL since we knew we wanted to do a lot of higher end TS since we won't have the kids with us), but with all the unknowns of when WDW will open we have booked a trip over Thanksgiving week. We do still have a lot of the same dining, but with it being Thanksgiving I'm wondering if we would be better off getting CL so we have somewhere to escape the crowds. Of course all this mess with not knowing how CL will be handled in the future really has me not knowing if I should book it or not, I'm so torn! My husband was so jealous of my BWI stay in January that I thought it would be fun to go back, I just don't want to spend the money if it's not the same. I wish they would just announce their plans already, this not knowing how to plan is really getting to my plan ahead loving soul. Also, sooooo not fun booking ADRs this morning for that trip with zero park hours posted.

We are going to Indian Shores Beach in Florida for a week vacation in mid July. We have 1 night at Universal and 3 nights at AKL CL planned on our way home. If we don't get to go - it's fine. We are waiting until the last minute since we can wait and see what it's like and cancel late if needed. I'll be really bummed if there aren't any CL amenities. I'm fine with being served in the lounge and not having anything be "help yourself". But, I'm not going to pay CL prices if the amenities aren't there. Also very curious to see what the situation in the parks will be like. Hopefully they've opened by then so we'll have some idea.

We've always stayed CL at the Beach Club - it's always been our favorite. Last trip we ended our stay with one night at AKL CL - we'd never been to the resort before. We instantly fell in love with it and regretted only having one night there. We've been so excited to return. I hope we get to!

OT....not sure if you've been to Indian shores but Guppies and Salt Rock Grill are some of our favorite restaurants in that area. My parents live just south of there in Maderia Beach.
Have fun!

Thank you! We grew up going there every year for about 20 years. But, it's been a long time since we've gone and all of our favorites are gone now. So, I really appreciate the suggestions! We will try those.

For what it's worth, an article posted six hours ago on the Axios website:

HOW DISNEY WORLD COULD HOST THE NBA

...Coronado Springs is Disney World's prime convention resort. According to Yahoo Sports' Keith Smith, who worked at Disney World for nearly 20 years and first broached the "Disney World bubble" idea over a month ago, it would make the most sense to house everyone there. In addition to three village areas, a health club, and a self contained marina, Coronado Springs also has 200,000 square feet of convention space that would be ideal for team meeting space, film rooms, and media outposts...

I had a quick July 4th weekend trip booked for Poly CL and canceled for the same reason. That, and work is going to be absolutely insane...our system is getting a major upgrade and we'll need to revamp training materials and run uptrainings, while all this virus stuff is still happening.

I'm trying to be zen about all this, which is one of the reasons I won't even take a solo trip this year and just decided to skip the rest of 2020 altogether. ADHDers share a lot of traits with folks on the autism spectrum, and change/uncertainty is extra challenging for me. I feel like I spend a lot of time on the boards lately telling people not to freak out, but it's aimed at myself just as much. I'm glad to watch from the sidelines and see what happens.

You can all blame this on me. We have a split stay mid-late July and have AKL Club booked for the first 3 nights (Poly DVC for the rest), and it's the first time anyone in our family has stayed Club Level anywhere ever. We also have a flight at the moment, so depending on different factors we may drive from PA and forego the petri dish in the sky both ways to mitigate some exposure, which would cut into at least one night at AKL. Hopefully they at least present a plan this week so we can digest and see what's what.

For those that don't follow WDW news closely, Disney announced this afternoon that they will be presenting their phased reopening plan during the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force meeting Wednesday at 10am ET. These presentations are required for all of the theme parks and is the same thing Universal did last week. In theory we will at least get some sort of news from the presentation.

Just FYI!

I have it on good word that buffets in the Disney system, including and especially club level, are to be changed over to claw machine service vending.

Just kidding! But it would be entertaining to watch hungry folk get upset as their parfaits plop before reaching the vending slot.

We will get opening dates tomorrow, they are required. OC Health Department did onsite WDW inspection today (just like UOR did before their presentation). Rteetz (rumor/news mod) said he will put together a thread for news so watch for that on the rumor/news forum tomorrow if you want the news fast without the chatter of the operations & rumors thread.

As far as CL goes, UOR didn’t present anything on hotels and this is focused on theme parks so idk that we’ll get any clarity there.

I’m sure we won’t. I think it’s going to be a general outline of safety procedures and policies for limiting capacity. Universal didn’t get into the weeds about a great many things. If it’s an opening date relatively soon- mid to late a June, I’m afraid those first few quests are going to be the guinea pigs. Disney isn’t the best at providing information.

True, but universal doesn't own the resorts on the property (owned by Loews),unlike Disney
