Data point for AA flight cancellations: We had a websaver, nonrefundable one-way flight booked on points, that was booked pre-corona. The flight isn't until end of October, so that's after their policy of free cancellations through Sept 30th. Went into my AA app, and found "Contact American" tab. After all the phone numbers, there is a button that says "Chat with us (NEW)". So I tried it. Wouldn't you know, I had a live person on immediately, she cancelled my flight with no questions asked, redeposited miles and refunded the fees. Said it takes 7-10 business days, but sometimes can be sooner.
For anyone who needs to cancel AA and is loathing calling, this may be a good option! I was absolutely not looking forward to making this call, and didn't expect much either. Super happy with this outcome.

ETA: Flight is already gone from my app, and I can see miles back in my account only 5 minutes after chatting.
That's awesome! DH got his miles back within an hour too. My flight we are toast on though LOL.

That is a bummer. I see you had a one way flight also, after Sept 30th. I wonder why they refunded mine but not yours? I wonder if because mine was booked with points, and yours cash, if that made the difference in them only giving you AA credit.

Yeah, pretty sure that's why, since dh got miles refunded, but I only get a credit.
 
I hope they cancel your flight completely so you can use that as argument to get your money back! Let us know how it eventually turns out.
Yeah, I don't think that will happen, they haven't cancelled todays or tomorrows so I have no reason to think they will cancel one in September. Nor do I know how long I have the patience to wait.
 
I haven't been able to transfer points from my CIP to my CSR for a few days. On the combine points screen, my 2 business cards are on the left, and one of those same 2 are on the right. There is the square on the right to "add household member/company owner". When I add my CSR using that, it says unexpected error occurred and its been that way for 2 days. There is no way for me to unlink the receiving business card and there doesn't seem to be a way to add another card. Anyone noticed anything like this before I call?
Can you move the points to your other business card then to your CSR?
 
Are you a FL resident? We are going down next week and my daughter will be returning in October so I wondered how much extra it'll be to upgrade her 4 day pass to an AP?
Depends on what kind of AP, and is it a true 4 day ticket or a promo buy 2 get 2 free type?

Last time we upgraded a true 4 day ticket to a seasonal AP (nov 2018) we got a $10 gift card back. The price may vary a bit, but they are roughly equal. I don't think there are any blockout days for the seasonal in Oct, check June though. We later upgraded that seasonal AP to the power, and it was $50 or $60 more, whatever the price difference is. If it is a promo ticket you may only get the value of a 2 day ticket.
 
Can you move the points to your other business card then to your CSR?
I tried that but business card1 is only linked to business card2 and vice versa. I'm just going to call...they are all my cards so moving points on the up and up. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was worried when you posted this but I was able to transfer from CIP to CSR.
 
I feel bad for this guy on chat. Went to lunch to celebrate our anniversary, come home to this. I've been in pretty bad pain for over a week now. This is not what I need. This is insane and I'm not sure what "documenting" it is going to do. I told the last chat person in caps DO NOT CANCEL. Ugh.
 
What kind of rationale do you use when deciding whether to keep a card? Both my JetBlue Biz (year 2) & Aviator Biz (year 1) just posted their fees. I am so undecided about whether they are worth paying. I earned the companion pass this year, so any upcoming flights until the end of 2021 will be SW. Would you pay to hold onto a card just because you "might" use its benefits sometime in the future? It feels like the cc climate is changing, so is holding onto cards a better strategy? I don't like paying for things I don't know if I'll even use. Ugh! Any thoughts?

I have no words. No one can do anything. So now I have a trip to Florida, APs (at least that helps) and NO place to stay the first 3 nights.

First: "You requested that this be canceled." Show me when and where, right, I didn't.
Second: "The hotel canceled" Why? There is no reason for the hotel to cancel, they will be open.

I don't even know what to do right now. I guess I wait until Disney's system is updated and they can alter reservations and then call Chase again.

It's actually a UR Chase procured 4 day ticket. Does that matter?

I've bought all the summer and work clothes I need at the moment and didn't find anything I wanted. They do have a sale going on right now too.

I'm so sorry. We had a similar issue with a flight, DH chatted with Chase and they decided to wait to cancel in case United changed or cancelled it first, then he got an email a couple of days later that he had cancelled it.

Not sure what is going on with Chase, maybe they brought on a lot of new people who are new. I called Sunday to change a flight from July to Dec for DD, it was booked in March with no change fees and I knew exactly what flight I wanted to change to, took an hour on the phone (at one point she asked me what time it was where I am located, and then what DATE it was currently). I never got a confirmation of the change so I chatted Monday, no confirmation, then I chatted again today, finally got a confirmation of the new flight but the cost was all wrong.

Are you sure disney didn't do it? While the rumors about where the nba will be staying don't really include riviera, no one alsp knows for sure that it won't since caribbean beach is the rumored hotel they'll use.

Has chase called disney? Or can chase prove it was a chase peraon that ccancelled it?

I'd keep calling and keep escalating and I wouldn't hang up until it's figured out though I realize that may not be poasible but make them fix it or figure out who to report them to.
 
Shouldn't matter where you got it. Is it a physical ticket or virtual? What matters is whether the ticket says promo on it.
I have the voucher from chase and it says I have to take to a kiosk when I arrive so I don't have the physical ticket or on my app yet.
