Resort Change by Disney

We were booked for the WL and needed to move to later in month so all parks would be open. Just hung up b/c they said there were no Deluxe resorts available. I hung up and will try again.

None at all?! What dates were you trying to move to?

My person said the system was a being a bit tricky while I was on the phone with her. She was able to switch us to CR Tower Lake View for the switch out of Poly Standard View. When she went to try to book for YC she couldn't find anything at BWV or BCV for us so we could still be in the Epcot area. She then was going to try Copper Creek for us while she was waiting for CR link to work again. It was acting up for her. We're a family of 5, so I was thinking we wouldn't be getting Copper Creek since it would have needed to be a 2 bedroom villa. She actually took my number to call me back while she was trying to fix the second move, so I wouldn't continue to be on hold.
 
Ugh. we have two consecutive reservations at the same resort - the second week we booked that an agency and that one was moved Friday. Wonder if they gave them preference and let them get first dibs at deluxe. Makes sense now.

Now with school closures and possible earlier start I definitely need the first week switched.
 
Disney knows exactly how many rooms they need in each category. I haven't paid attention to the park reservation thread since this am. Wonder if dates got booked up.
 
I posted this elsewhere, but wondering if anyone took a “downgrade” and just saved the difference. Since the NBA is bumping me (😡😡) and we cant get YC, we are “thinking” about maybe switching ( if possible) to CBR and just saving the $$
 
Booked 8/14-8/16 at YC GV (no parks- plan was SAB and captain hook's prate crew for the kids/Yachtsman for us). Called shortly after noon, got through 407-939-5277 less than 10 tries. Took 1 hr 40 minutes, got a CM. She confirmed resort was closed and transferred me to guest services, said it was a 133 minutes hold time. Finally got transferred to guest services shortly before 5. He said the choice was Poly or CR- I said I did not have a preference since the kids just wanted a pool. He checked Poly first which was booked, moved us to CR GV with no upcharge.

Good to know you were transferred to GS shortly before 5. I was transferred at around 5. Maybe I'll be soon.
 
I finally got back through but they said the queue was closed off so to call back tomorrow. Not speaking for those already in motion but if you are awaiting guest services it might be best to just go get some dinner and a good nights sleep and try first thing tomorrow
 
I am going on 3 hours from the time the first CM transferred me to Guest Services. Gosh, I hope they pick up soon! I’m approaching 4 hours total.

Over 3.5 hours since being transferred to guest services over here. Silver lining, my new phone's battery is lasting amazingly long, still at 80% after all of this!

And as I'm writing this, the original CM who picked up the phone came back on to let me know the guest services queue is dying down, but there is still a bit more of a wait. Fun times.
 
Has anyone changed two resort reservations during the same call? I have a July and August trip that needs moved. Wondering if I should prepare myself for a second call later tonight.
We changed a July and August reservation on the same call. CM was super-helpful.
 
I am well aware. I am a professional and treat others as such. Not sure what exactly you think I would do.

We had two reservations directly impacted by covid closures and were not given options to rebook by disney. poor customer service.

two consecutive weeks in August. second was already moved by TA to Poly, but it turns out our resort will be open. we are extremely disappointed. Now trying to get the first week taken care of and clearly others were able to get similar resort and room categories. Disney know how many of each are booked and what they will need to move.

We downgraded from GF tpv to CR tpv and saved about $700. Wasn’t really anywhere else for us to go though.
