We keep delaying our decision about a July trip, too! The AP extension sucked us in, and we all really want to just be on property soaking in the sights and sounds...but not the virus! Is it insane to think of being at Disney World different from being in Orlando? We wouldn't be visiting local bars (I know, they're closed now anyway) or restaurants. I do believe that Disney will be a bubble with appropriate mask wearing, social distancing, and constant cleaning. I talked with DW and said that with mobile check-in and ordering we will have hardly any contact with the local Orlando CMs, and unlike here at home where we see employees wearing masks on their chins, we think Disney will enforce proper mask wearing for its employees. Just irrationally hopeful.
I do think Disney will be safer than many places. My husband is of the mindset that the virus isn’t going anywhere and we have to learn to live with it. We will continue to monitor numbers and weigh risk. If we do decide to go, we will rent a car and only use that or Skyliner, as well as only do mobile orders and make a grocery run for food for our room.

Disney is certainly safer than other places, but obviously the CMs don't live at Disney. They go to supermarkets with other people in Orlando, and out for dinner, etc. You're exposed to everyone they were exposed to.

For those still leaning toward going, how did your ADR's go this morning? Did you get most of what you were hoping for?

I got everything in ADR's this morning that we wanted. Well....except for California Grill and O'Hana. I sure wish they would open soon....
:o

I was happy Disney allowed dinner reservations up to park closing times, since the parks are closing so early--at least it allows more time for attractions:)

My Disney travel companion finally got Covid too. So, now we are a party of four who have all had Covid, and July trip is looking pretty fun to us!!! Never been to Disney in the summer though...

I was able to get what we wanted today including rebooking build a droid at Droid Depot (although they really wanted to do the light sabers).

I am so glad you recovered and hope your symptoms were mild! Enjoy your trip!

Probably the best time to do water rides. Bring a pair of flip flops in your backpack.

I rebooked Droid Depot too---one of the MODS who's daughter is a cast member said rumors are looking good that the light sabers may be open come opening day...may the force be with us:)----Editing to say---That it was recommended to keep checking in to see if they were "open" and taking "walk-ups"

Got all the ADRs we wanted as well! Staying 7/25-8/8.

I would love to see Florida's covid numbers decreasing though... especially coming from MA where our daily cases are 100-300 now, percent positive around 2%. I need a vacation after staying home (except for groceries and Dr visits) since March... going a little stir crazy here...

FYI, I think your Gov just mandated a 14 day quarantine on your way back in from Florida. You might want to check.

Thanks. It's been that way since March. New order just removed the local states from the list. Trying to figure out exactly what it entails though...how to get groceries and if I can keep my Dr visits. DH will still be working from home, and kids won't be back in school yet when the 2 weeks are up.

Very close to cancelling our 9/1-8 DVC reservation at BWV and banking points. Two years in a row (thanks to the hurricane last year).

Just cancelled our stay 7/2-7/6. While I do think Disney is one of the safest places to be, Orange County looks like a hot mess. So sad, I was so looking forward to a change of scenery and a Dole Whip.

We are going . 7/31-8/8 booked at The Contemporary. I booked 16 TS meals and will have groceries delivered from GG. I am a frontline worker and well aware of the risks and consequences. I and my teenage daughters have no underlying conditions. I have purchased 4 cloth masks for each of us and 100 disposable ones. I am planning on placing groups of 5 disposable masks in ziplock bags and dispersing them through our luggage and carryons. I have 20 mini bottles of hand sanitizer and 20 packets of 10 each of Wet Ones, and Hydrogen Peroxide wipes which we will carry. We will take our multiple vitamins, wear our masks and use our hand gel religiously. We will spend mornings at the parks , afternoons at pool or resort and evenings back at park or Disney Springs. We will use UBER/Lyft to get to AK, HS and EPCOT. We have 9 days of fun planned and cannot wait. 😄
