Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

I have a reservation at Be Our Guest for 7pm Tuesday night of Boo Bash...also made one for same time Thursday. Both days full day at MK. Am going to cancel one of them. Which one should I cancel? Would you recommend BoG night of Boo Bash?
If you don't plan on having popcorn or ice cream bars, BoG is perfectly fine. After a full meal at BoG you definitely won't want any snacks. Our night of the Boo Bash we did Ohana at 4:30, which was perfect because then we were looking for snacks by 11:00 (6 1/2 hours after dinner). So you could move the BoG to a much earlier time if you want the free snacks.

One person in our party is no longer traveling with us. We have a BooBash ticket for 10/22. We called Disney and they said we could get a credit towards a future ticket once we get there and go to Guest Services. Does anyone know if this credit could be used towards adding park hopper to the 4 tickets of the people still going? Our trip starts on 10/16 and Boo Bash isn't until our last night, 10/22. Will we need to wait until after the BooBash date to get the credit?

Boo Bash was tough last night;

Splash Mountain - closed
Peter Pan - closed
Haunted Mansion - closed for half the party
Mine Train - closed for half the party
Overcrowded (social distancing has completely disappeared now, especially in lines)

oh well - we tried it!

I’m sorry but this seems unacceptable to me considering the cost of the tickets!!! Was there no refund or compensation offered?!

Hi all! We were at boo bash last night and had a phenomenal time!

it was myself, husband and three kiddos (12, 10, and 7)

Our priorities were to see fireworks (they weren’t doing them when we were here in May) and to ride as many rides as we could.

We hit a snafu with traveling from Wilderness Lodge to MK (boats just stopped running) so we ended up taking a Uber to the contemporary and walking over. We arrived a few minutes after 7 and breezed right on in.

I will say there was a really large crowd at guest relations outside the park when we walked in. No idea what for though.

We had planned on doing things before fireworks but when we walked down Main Street at 7:15 it was already getting crowded so we found a good spot and had a seat.

It was hard not to feel like we weren’t wasting time just sitting there but my husband kept reminding me this was a priority for us.

So glad we stayed because the view was great and I cried. Really glad we had one more chance to see the show.

After Fireworks we headed straight for Small World (it’s our family tradition to ride it first) and to wait for it to clear out.

Here’s everything we did:
Small world
Drinks - no line
Friars nook mobile order - trick or treat while waiting)
Ariel tot
Barnstormer
Tot
Space
Tot
7DMT 15 minute wait
Ice cream
Big thunder
Popcorn & drinks
Cavalcade (tot while waiting)
Pirates
Cavalcade villains
Haunted mansion posted 25 actual 15 including stretching room
Splash (one last tot for 7 & hubs)
Walked out of the park at 12:28

Everything but 7DMT and HM were actual walk ons. We only did 7DMT because a friend was there and wanted us to ride with her kids as she gets motion sickness.

I wish we had skipped HM as it meant we missed Malificent’s Dragon but oh well.

We got a good deal on a two night DVC at WL and so literally only came down for the party. We spent the rest of the time at the pool and brunch at Topolino’s.

We were just down in May for six nights over Memorial Day weekend. We’ve never been to Disney twice in one year.

So was it worth it? Yes. Absolutely. Compared to the lines we saw in May, these were an absolute breeze. Compared to the crowd levels of a previous Halloween party, the crowd was so much less.

However, there were still people everywhere. It’s just that not everyone was riding rides. There was enough to do to spread everyone out.The two cavalcades we did see, we walked right up and got great spots. We never stood in line for candy or treats or drinks.

HOWEVER, because there are still a lot of people at the event, even in the middle of the party, I thought to myself, five minutes could make or break your experience. For instance, we got into 7DMT right after it was reopened. If we had to wait in the line while it was not running and then asked to leave, our experience would have been totally different.

Still, it was super fun and I am so glad we did it and hoping we can make a similar trip happen for Christmas too.

Enjoyed BooBash, mainly because I had great company with some DISers! I found a helpful strategy if folks want to wear masks outdoors, but also want to enjoy the tasty treats.... Pick up a mickey bar, strawberry stick, popcorn, etc outside of people mover. Ride Peoplemover and enjoy the snack without mask! You'll be outdoors and physically distant! :D

There were some places that had less people, but overall I didn't find it to be less crowded... then again I might have higher expectations about "less crowded" or I might have been in areas that were attracting congregating.

Apparently things have changed - when we were at Boo Bash last Sunday they were making us wear masks on the PeopleMover.

I believe they are required on people mover because it’s got so much time inside.

I am sure I have missed this somewhere in the thread but I could not find it specifically. If you have park hoppers, I know you wouldn't have to wait until 7:00 p.m. exactly to get in. But what about coming in in costume? If you wanted to arrive (using hoppers to get in, but still have Boo Bash tickets for later) can you come in dressed up at say 6:00 or do you need to wait until 7:00 since in costume?

That's unfortunate bc it kind of messes with my planning. I was thinking that we would use Boo Bash as a substitute for a full day at MK. But if it turns out we can't get tickets at the gate, I guess we risk being out a whole day. Anyone tracking the day of availability?
I don’t believe we’ve seen any reports yet (here) of someone that wanted tickets that were not able to get them. And I personally could have gotten tickets the day prior, so I don’t think you need to wait until day of to ask about tickets - just make sure you’re asking at a park guest services or Disney springs. I asked when I checked in at my hotel and they immediately told me they are all sold out, so I don’t think they are actually able to sell tickets or see inventory.
Others on here have said they were able to buy them at Disney Springs at Guest Relations. If you're staying onsite, check with the concierge at your hotel.
I wouldn’t trust the hotel concierge if they say it’s sold out. - they told me that, but they were in fact available at Disney springs.

Ok, cool, that makes me feel better. Our first day is the day before the Boo Bash night we want. We will be at HS. I will try at GS there. Do you think HS GS would be just as good as DS GS?

If we can't get Boo Bash tickets, I have a "plan B" which requires adding a day to our park tickets and rearranging all of our park reservations. I hope I don't have to do that. Too many spots to go awry!

Were people able to get refunds?
Not sure. It was our first night (Boo only) so
we went to guest services after the party to get my sons DAS for the rest of our trip and the families ahead of us and behind us were waiting in line to complain and request refunds. I definitely would have been really unhappy if it was my only MK opportunity.

But why were they down? I was at the Magic Kingdom last night for our last park day, just not for the event, left about half an hour after fireworks, and the weather at least seemed fine! Was it just an unlucky evening?

Is it possible they didnt have enough staff?

Pure speculation but everything that went down seemed to be in the same area and about the same time so maybe an electrical issue? I really have no idea though.
