We are looking at London, Paris and Euro Disney for 2023 as well. We told our kids they could pick a trip anywhere in the world if they forgo the huge wedding-like Bar/Bar-Mitzvah party (we will still have ceremony and luncheon), and DD picked Paris and Euro Disney. I used to travel to London for work often and have wanted to take the family, so adding that as a second week. I'm definitely interested in any tips, advice, reviews from your trip/s! I am starting to stock up URs to use toward Hyatt. We are typically Hilton people, but Hyatt seems to have better international options.
so I'm trying to hit the diamond with delta so i can do premiere and upgrade to business. I'm also planning tokyo disney but i do a once a year trip with my guy friends over the years (we are going to paris this year). I too am a fan of Hyatt trying to do ana first for japan as well as Park Hyatt, the deal I do with my buddies is first to book the ticket gets the other bed in the hotel room. (only one did it this year).

depends on where you are landing personally its been a while but I prefer air France or Virgin Atlantic to delta (they have different flavors) for business class (also they tend to be cheaper on points at least) what did you want to plan first? one thing I've noticed is at least for us there are very few places where we can share a room with my kid, in London, there is the regency and the Churchill, the Churchill seems to be better but more points. The service is supposed to be better also the location is great. (been scrolling throught flyer talk)

the hotel du louvre has family rooms as well as park Hyatt Vendome (the lovre is a lot fewer points) also madeline has a few family rooms, in less than a month *fingers crossed* I'm going to check out Madeline and Vendome because we are doing a detour in nice. But it seems like at least from my boredom during the brief lockdown and daydreaming that these are the only 3 hotels you can book for sharing a room, seems like a better deal than booking 2 rooms. The family room there seems to be the best (the louvre).

Well I finally made a decision on a hotel. After booking 5 nights at the Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa for later this year, I decided to see if I could change our flights on Emirates and get lie flat seats coming in a few days early. This will be our second time in Dubai and I didn't want to leave again without actually seeing and exploring the city. I was not even planning a trip to Dubai this year or expecting to visit the Al Maha again. Marriott forced my hand by announcing their upcoming devaluation so here we are squeezing in a trip to use up my stash of BonBlah points for a stay I've been dying to do again before they are worthless to me.

Anyhow, I was able to change our flights with no penalties and come in a few days early so we could have 3 nights in Dubai to explore the city. That was easy. Choosing where to stay, not so much. SO many amazing choices! Do I use UR points to book the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, Al Qasr, One and Only The Palm, Bulgari resort or Armani? In the end, I decided to hold on to the UR points to book something I know I want to to experience down the line again (Ashford Castle) and not burn them on something that seemed cool to do on a whim.

Next up, points and or free night certificates. I looked at options using Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, IHG and Radisson points and or FN certs. Hyatt options looked good for FN certs but nothing that blew me away. The others looked good too but nothing that nailed down the experience if that makes sense. If I'm visiting Dubai proper, then I want that option of a luxury, over the top experience that seems synonymous with Dubai. I eventually narrowed things down to Hilton free night certs and wavered between the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah and Habtoor Palace Dubai LXR. After reading online reviews and scouring the net for pictures, I decided on Habtoor Palace Dubai LXR. Apparently all rooms have butler service, there's a Bentley limo service, really cool dining options and activities. I am now super excited to see what fun, crazy insane options I can charge to the room and not pay for with Hilton Aspire resort credits!

Does anyone have a United card with a support link for the 150,000 mile Biz card SUB? Mine and DH's link is only for 75,000 miles. Someone had posted a link that TPG has a 150,000 mile support link. Looking to support another Disser. The support links on reddit were also for 75,000 miles for the United biz card.

i dont know enough about dubai so I cant chime in on this, but I did find out my bonvoyed AF comes up in march just in time for the evaluation to come out and see if its as bad as I think it's going to be im 90% sure I'm going to cancel, this is an excellent use of points before what I fear will bottom out.

This is all really helpful! I have noticed that in London it is hard to find a room for 4, but I hadn't checked Paris yet. My daughter has celiac, so it's complicated to eat out all the time. We usually book someplace with a kitchen if we are going for more than 2 nights so we can cook safe food for her. I may look into airbnb type lodging so at least some of the trip. We are doing a 2 week National Parks trip this year all in hotels (although some have a kitchenette) and this will be a test to see how we do without a kitchen for that long.

We can fly out of BOS or JFK, although BOS is easier. We aren't too picky about flights. It's hard to go 1st class with 4 people on points. My priority is a direct flight.

If you’re in the major cities, you often don’t need to worry about cash. However, if you’re traveling outside of the cities, or go to any small local workshops, you absolutely need to have cash on hand. Many of the smaller towns don’t accept credit cards in stores or restaurants. I had to withdraw money more than once on the trip as we had not anticipated how much cash we’d need on hand, since we’re so used to paying by card for everything. Admittedly, we did visit a lot of smaller towns between the major cities on our trip.

I know I'll need cash for things at the shrines and temples from what I've read since it's sometimes just a box to put cash in. I do want to be able to do/get some of the things. And get a book I can get stamped. I think, as of now sincr I don't have ab iphone, that if I need to add funds and even buy a passmo/suica card I'll need to do that wish cash as well. I do think most can be done with a card but I will need cash.

Seems that our most unfavorite blogger, TPG, is being sued by AA. I'm not sure who would input their username and password for AA into a 3rd party app (especially one owned by TPG); I protect ours vociferously and wouldn't even give to a trusted friend.

He's also suing them. Award wallet also can't track your AA balance for the same reason though I think they may have a slightly different way of accessing than TPG did. Either way both are cut off, AA is going to have miles start expiring again and the only way to track your balance is on the AA site. I think view from the wing did a write up about the lawsuits and all of it. I read something the other day and am fairly certain it was him.

yeah I'm flying out of Boston was 10k points less than NYC also I'm flying out on a Thursday Friday was way more points, I think it varies on what time of the year you go. I'm not a fan of Airbnb I feel like I'm messing up someone's house but your situation is different, I'm also a little obsessed with getting points and burning them on great redemptions it might be worth it to get a suite for a little more points if you have them (i haven't checked on a kitchen) but I did notice this in nice too very few hotels accommodate more then 2. I've also read on flyer talk that if you put more than 2 and get caught or don't notify them you can get booted, something about an EU stays law.

I'm not sure what that is. If I just google the card, the 150,000 miles offer shows for the higher spend ($20,000 in 6 mo). All of the reddit links show 75,000 miles for the biz card. trying them all out right now on my ipad.

what browser are you using? in chrome its control shift N (sometimes credit card offers show different offers if you haven't been previous browsing)

I have Chrome. Just tried but the offers are the same (75,000 miles). Maybe the support link has to come from someone who got the 150,000 mile offer themselves?

As far as I know, Chase isn't like Amex where you can get different offers to pull up with incognito or different browsers, etc. This may just be a case where the support and public offers are different. That happened before with the elevated Bonvoy offers.

I don't know if Chase sometimes eventually make the offers the same (it didn't with the Bonvoy ones). I think Amex sometimes does, but I waited once and it never happened.

I have a feeling I will be canceling or down grading mine. But I agree on the use of points. I fear that 100k per night points will likely apply in months that I would not want to visit Dubai. If I’m wrong, that’s ok and I have no problem using them at this cost for this resort. So, it’s a win win in either case. No regrets.

ahh this makes sense I don't usually seek out offers I am long on cards I know some here arent I assumed it would be the same thing, maybe someone in this thread has a support link that has the united card and it could be better (not sure if that's against the rules but prob in DMS).

For Hyatt, I got it when I saw the bonus night promotion I was eyeing it anyway so it was a no brainer, that's the last card I got , before that Disney offered me 200$ I never saw that before always 100 so I jumped on it too, right now I have no credit cards in mind.

now that im back on this thread again after my hiatus if I'm going to sign up again ill post what's a good offer.

We try to use the term support here, not the r word. Not allowed on DIS. There's a private Reddit group, message @SouthFayetteFan or @Albort to join

I found a puppy and I need some help :) I'm terrible at names and would love some ideas. I do have 4 things I want it to meet - 1. Not a human person's name, 2. One syllable 3. Goes with Dude 4. Sounds ok being yelled or said where others can hear. 5. Disney is ok but not obvious ie not buzz, star wars or marvel :)

He's a mini doxie, currently called cashew as it was a nut litter. There's also a pecan and a walnut. Parents are Tiki and Rebel, they name all their dogs with disney names. The pic with the blue back ground is from yesterday and the bottom shows he's got white on his chest, back feet, like 2 toes and belly have some white.

Already scratched Squirt due to #4 :) Smoke as it's too obvious. Potentially Crush but would have to see personality and really might be too ridic for me to put with Dude.

Dude's name came about as I used to use it as a reaction word, which also means you can see how the day went after picking him up :) It ended up suiting him well. We had a Doc/Docie/Dr Peter Von Weenie, growing up.

Dude and I will pick him up on the 5th, he'll be 8 weeks on the 7th.

He’s adorable.

Potential names: Zoom, Jock, Chip, Toodle, Dug, Scamp, Flynn, Feud

My school's protocol is that I needed to do a rapid test today to go back tomorrow. I tested at the BFs house positive still on Friday night. He joked the line was so faint, I'd for sure be negative today. I will say, w/ the congestion I've had, I'm in no way ready to be in the classroom wearing a mask 8 hours a day. My O2 levels are fine, but I'm still "winded" I guess is the best way to describe it. Well I did my test today and within 30 secs I already had the 2nd line. And it's the darkest line of any test I've done in the last week. So I guess I'm not going back tomorrow. I'm okay with that. Between the congestion, the fact I still need to grade finals from last week, and the fact I need to get groceries, etc still....I need another day (or 2) off. I'm not mentally ready to go back into the mess that school is. UGH.

At this point, Mexico can't get here fast enough, LOL.
