Star Wars Hotel Pricing

Haha, I love it!

... and it's what I'm having trouble wrapping my head around. Your teenagers are sure to get grouped with the 40 something super fan, the one who brought his own custom made lightsaber that he won't stop talking about, and who constantly corrects everyone on anything star wars related... Your kids are going to have a blast! :D

But yeah, I'd love to hang out there for a day/night, have some adult beverages and take the whole experience in. It's a little hard to justify it (or, almost impossible) with my not-so-interested wife and introverted teen and adult children.
We're not planning to participate in role-playing, unless we become SW-enlightened in the following months. I will wait to see the immersion "mandate" before booking. If everyone is required to dress up and carry a weapon then it will be a pass.

The marketing on the website implies you can get involved (or not as involved) to your liking, so I'm assuming they'll organize people into groups in a way that allows for this. I figure if anyone can make this work, it's Disney. I hoping the experience is very customizable.

They also state dressing up is not required. But heck, I would dress up. Sure, not full-on comic-con level, but I'd wear something that wouldn't look out of place in a sci-fi move, IDK... it's part of the fun - when in Rome, you know. Plenty of options if you think about it (60's star trek theme, 80's Buckaroo Banzai, more modern like costumes on The Expanse - Avasarala's outfits were amazing)... hmm... starting to talk myself into doing this.

My guess is that once the hardcore SW fans have gotten their fix, the “totally immersive” roleplay concept will not last. I’m a moderate SW fan and while I enjoy participating in things like Rotr, two days of that kind of thing constantly would be too much for me. So at some point I expect it to turn into a more standard pay-by-the-night very cool SW-themed hotel with proximity to DHS as a selling point, perhaps with occasional special two-night roleplay events along the lines of the existing model.
This is very much within the realm of possibility for the future if demand begins to wane considerably.

Die hard fan or not, the pricing is crazy. How about a trip to a place we’ve never before visited….on Earth? That’s way more interesting to us and our adult kids then 2 nights on a make believe starship. No matter what, it’s not real! JMHO

If we were to go we would definitely go in costume... but then again my wife, kids and myself all have Star Wars costumes... unfortunately I doubt I can wear my Stormtrooper Kit lol

😂
I love it! The whole family in costume!
You see, this is what it’s all about !::yes::

Yea. Not sure what the policy will be regarding helmets. Can I wear my deathtrooper costume? I doubt it, but I bet I could wear my rebel fleet trooper. Maybe the restrictions will be similar to the rules for the Halloween parties.

Who is anyone else to decide what should be important to another person? This will be sold out consistantly. I won't do it, but plenty will. I will never understand why people are up in arms with outrage over this hotel's pricing (not necessarily on this thread, but all over youtube, etc). Don't like it - don't go. Nobody is forcing it on us. I don't see this same level of outrage that some people can afford to pay a fortune to have a plaid and skip lines or that they pay $15K for a single meal at Disneyland's most expensive dining experience. Why has this enraged so many? It literally does not affect their lives in any way whatsoever.

Agreed. To each his own. For us, not Disney next year. Maybe following year w grand babes. Maybe not. See how it all goes

If you're not already "star wars enlightened", I can't imagine what the appeal of this would be. Especially given the price tag.

In one of the recently-released imagineer videos, they said no full helmets. So I think the wookiee idea is not going to work. Unless you just wore the body suit and went as a "shaved" version.

The Star Wars hotel will send your wallet into hyperspace and have you going into the poorhouse when you leave. I can go on an all inclusive vacation for two weeks in Jamaica or Mexico or even go on vacation to the Bahamas, Europe, or even Japan for that price or less.

If people have the money to go and budget properly they won't be in the poor house

I expected this to be expensive, but I wasn't expecting this high.
If you have 2 guests per cabin, the trip will cost you $1209 per guest, per night, for a total of $4809 for the 2 days.
3 guests per cabin get by for $5299.
Even if that includes all dining, drinks and a visit to an empty Galaxies Edge (don't know that it does), thats a lot of money.
Do you think there is that kind of demand.

Disney is out of their minds, and so out of touch it's unbelievable!

$6,000 can pay for or almost pay for an entire year’s worth of college tuition for a full time student at a community college. No way would I pay this much for two days and two nights.

Nor would I. Mind you, I also can't fathom spending $800+/night to stay at Grand Californian Hotel, etc. I just need a clean place to lay my head at night within walking distance to the parks (in Anaheim). I'll spend the rest of my money on stuff I find worthwhile. I also don't stay onsite in Florida since you can rent great villas with private pools for a lot less per night than a cramped Disney hotel room.
