In exciting news to me, just had our offer accepted for a house. Feeling lucky it went for "only" 7% over asking. One of the others we put an offer in on a couple weeks ago went for 50% over. Now to start dealing with the bank on Monday.
In a not completely unrelated note, @LilSweetPeaPhoto how is your area looking for hockey officials? I'm going to need some additional income this winter and thinking about becoming certified as a youth hockey ref. I already do softball in the summer and played high school hockey in MN so I don't think it would be too rough.


If you're booking through United with a United codeshare flight number on United ticket stock (the ticket number starts 016) it would be United's policy that should prevail. If it's an Asiana flight number and Asiana ticket stock it would be Asiana's policy. The difference in pricing is pretty universal for domestic based vs foreign carriers. There are very limited seats that foreign carriers make available to partners for award tickets, and not always in the cheapest buckets. point.me might be able to help you find a better award using Chase transfer partners other than UA.

I met the 3k spend for my hyatt 5k pt offer way earlier than expected thanks to a vet bill. Dude had a cyst or something that started bleeding and we could get it to stop and after a day it would start again, even covered. Hadn't wanted to make him do surgery at 15 1/2 but had to. Had the much smaller one removed too so it won't be an issue. Smaller in that it's smaller than a pencil eraser vs the pea size of this. Nothing crazy though after the bill I wish I could've just gone dr pimple popper on it

Anyway I will be 5/24 at some point this summer so I don't want a personal card. I will eventually need a bbp I think it is to keep my me safe but I'll have my plat until at least next Feb so it's not urgent.

Thinking about the aa biz since it's got such a good offer now but I don't generally fly them but could use for a partner later on. Marriott is also on my radar for potential wdw trip but it would need to be an awesome offer for it to make sense and I'm pretty sure the one now isn't.

Could use more mr but can't do a plat and I think that's the only charge card. I think the DL offers aren't that good esp for the af.

Am I missing any? Hate to get a card just to have a sub I may not need. Though it was nice to have enough AA miles for the flight mco to phx.

Not even sure chase will give me a biz card after all the reasons for the last denial but I'd like to at least try since I do need more UR. Which is why I want to get back under 5/24.

Ah, the elusive AF lounge at CDG. We have suffered through the one in their domestic terminal (it's hot, crowded and stuffy every time), but never got to check out the good one. One time we flew home from LHR instead, another time we barely made the connection so there wasn't time, and then there is the trip that got canceled. And now I'm booking a trip into CDG but will likely leave from another airport (or have a brief connection again) so I may never get to see it.

It was fantastic$50+ champagne self serve. I only was able to go because i was going to nice my friend that was my plus one asked if it wad heaven i ate 2 omelette and a croque madame got too full obviously from the champagne passed on drinks in flight well worth it if you have a chance. I'm surprised i only took 2 pictures there. I'm not sure why i didn't take pics of that either i was obviously overwhelmed with the choices for once.

Also i complain when there is no lounge for a long layover so i feel your pain

I’m not sure what the plan is with the AF lounge, but from what I’ve read Delta will move to T5.

Is the AF lounge open? I read one blog that said it closed permanently in September 2021.

The ORD T5 AF lounge was closed when we were there in March. The alternative was Swissport, which is garbo, as I understand it. What I read as well was that AF pax will have access to Delta SkyClub when it opens later this year at T5, so if we book something, I'm hoping that's true.

Thank you! I transferred the points and they were there instantly like you said! I am booking 3 rooms, so if it took an extended time, I wanted to call to make sure they had plenty of available rooms before transferring the points and having them stuck in Marriott and nothing to use them on. But, I have now transferred points and booked rooms!

I know someone was trying to get Marriott FNC that expire in June extended. Any luck? I'm still debating if I use them in NC in June (it was my last effort to use them) or see if I can get them extended. I'd prefer to use them a different way as the hotel I'm using them for is Carolina Beach, and I prefer Atlantic Beach/Emerald Isle area.

I have not, but I did a lot of searching to try and use points for this. Like a PP said, I booked the night with UR points and then paid for the parking, it was a reduced rate for being a Marriott member.

Amex takes longer to post the free night. I can’t remember exactly but I think around 2 months. Maybe it’s 6-8 weeks after the annual fee posts? Something like that.

My wife and I are looking at traveling to London for an NFL game later this year. Has anyone travelled to London for an NFL game? Were there packages released for flights, hotels, and tickets? What airline should we be looking at? We live in Louisiana and would fly out of Baton Rouge or New Orleans. What credit cards would be good to grab to try and use the bonus to pay for the flights or hotel. I have around 150K IHG points (by then I'll have a FNC as well) if those can be used in London.

yep Amex is 8 weeks most of the time (so you don't cancel and collect it)

Dang that’s a bummer. My anniversary is May 8, but my AF still hasn’t hit. I was hoping to use this for a one-night Dolphin stay on 5/31, but sounds like that’s not likely.

Interestingly, I chatted with AMEX about this on Sunday, and they said that since my anniversary has hit that I should receive my FNC, and to chat back if I don’t get it in 24-72 hours (before tomorrow). I’ll chat with them tomorrow, but guess I shouldn’t get my hopes up.
