You'll have no problem. I do this all the time. Usually when they ask how many keys I want I just reply "go ahead and give me 2 I can give DH's his when he gets here". At least that way it seems like he's coming although I don't think any of them care.
I appreciate your help. I'm nervous for some reason.

Has anyone ever booked Swolphin through AMEX's Hotel Collection? My booking comes with a "$100 Onsite Credit to spend on qualifying dining, spa, and resort activities," and I'm wonder what qualifies. Also wondering if we are staying at Dolphin, if we can use it at Swan (I'm looking at you, Il Mulino!)

My $695 annual fee on the Schwab plat just posted. How long do I have before I can cancel and get back the whole fee?

Would like to get in one more Saks credit and book a cheap SW flight for a credit before canceling

And Holy Moly $695! I’m not usually an annual fee person so that’s just shocking

30 days. Have you chatted in for a retention offer? There have been lots of goof offers lately. You can always downgrade to a lower annual fee card and get a pro rated refund after 30 days.

24 hours ago DH and I had 460,000 MRs, as of today we are down to 52,000. We transferred points go BA for our Japan trip next summer and to Flying Blue for Paris this winter, AirFrance released J seats (217,500 miles for 4) so we upgraded, we had to add a day to our trip but I’m okay with that.

I was just poking around on Southwest looking for cheap flights to use up my Amex credits. I saw a $48 which will kill of my credit. Of course, now that I grabbed my card I can’t remember the route. Does anyone know any SW routes that are usually super cheap?

In exciting news to me, just had our offer accepted for a house. Feeling lucky it went for "only" 7% over asking. One of the others we put an offer in on a couple weeks ago went for 50% over. Now to start dealing with the bank on Monday.
In a not completely unrelated note, @LilSweetPeaPhoto how is your area looking for hockey officials? I'm going to need some additional income this winter and thinking about becoming certified as a youth hockey ref. I already do softball in the summer and played high school hockey in MN so I don't think it would be too rough.

Question...is this feasible? If we have UR,and transfer to United, then book a flight using those points on a partner airline (Asiana) what rules apply to the booking? United rules (can be refunded) or Asiana (refund costs $200) ? Is anyone familiar with Asiana at all? (again Korea trip) it seems that all the fares on their website have that fee. Thanks.... the problem I'm finding is I can find a fare that's decent on the Asiana website, but not on United site(much pricier) when looking at using miles. Any tips?
If you're booking through United with a United codeshare flight number on United ticket stock (the ticket number starts 016) it would be United's policy that should prevail. If it's an Asiana flight number and Asiana ticket stock it would be Asiana's policy. The difference in pricing is pretty universal for domestic based vs foreign carriers. There are very limited seats that foreign carriers make available to partners for award tickets, and not always in the cheapest buckets. point.me might be able to help you find a better award using Chase transfer partners other than UA.

Hit up Staples six times this week. Too many trips to Food Lion to convert to money orders. But I'll enjoy the UR points:)

And just booked tickets to Michigan on SW. Got three tickets for 46k RR points (have a companion pass). Booked a car through Chase but the rate was insane. I also have one booked through Costco. I'll keep an eye on rates. Just know it's important to get the kids up there to see my parents--especially given all of dad's recent surgeries (being facetious).

I would guess bay area to la or la to Vegas. Short flights that people are ok driving but will fly if it's cheap.

Or if they have a page for wtga fares or from certain cities that could be a place to look.

Yes! We used 2 nights under my account and 2 nights under DH’s. The $100 came off dining and our parking fees too. And yes, Swan too…I charged it back to my room.

This is what I recently learned with my biz Plat- I guess I didn't pay enough attention.

If you cancel, you have 30 days to receive the full AF refund.
If you PC, the AF will be prorated based on the date you PC. So if you wait the full 30 days, you'll pay 30 days of the $695 fee.

I did exactly as you did, used up some of the credits, waited for them to post, while I was trying for retention.

Yes, we booked through Amex as well. At the front desk they said it could be used on dining and spa. When I specifically inquired if it could be used towards the resort fee, she said no. However, I noticed the credit seems to post within the first day, so while I wouldn't want anyone to count on it counting towards resort fees, I have a hunch it might.

Did you try the Undercover tourist trick- bundling a ticket (AMC popcorn) with the car rental? I recently tried it because it was mentioned here and was amazed at how much cheaper the rates were. I thought it would be limited to ORD, but they aren't.

That's a great rate for your AirFrance biz class seats. Congrats on upgrading! You scored great deals... but it is sad to see those points dwindle. But totally worth it.

Totally unrelated but I have spent the last 2 weeks working on my resume and Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) to apply for our SESCDP. (Yes, I am a fed.) There are only 15 slots so it is a long shot of being selected but I am excited to have thrown my hat into the ring. (And wow was it a lot of work! And, luckily, I have some great executive mentors who were super helpful and the one wrote me a glowing letter of reference that actually brought tears to my eyes. Now to see if I make it to the assessment and interview phases! Wish me luck!

Oh yeah, so happy to scored those seats. Was really dreading a red-eye in Y, we are definitely flying back in Y, but it’s a day flight. Now we need to replenish MRs and URs, also maybe cool down the travel.

I started Puggles on the Farmer’s Dog food. I made the mistake of ordering pork this time along with beef and chicken. I am switching to just turkey and chicken with the next set of meals. He scarves it down but I don’t think it is filling him up since he requests a snack around 12-1 pm. I am not sure if I will stick with it long-term but we’ll see.

I haven't tried pork. Mine seem to like chicken and turkey best. The older dog isn't supposed to eat chicken and she was on beef and turkey but neither seem to love the beef. And older dog is eating food on her own after six months or so of needing to be hand fed--I think the blood pressure and thyroid meds are helping.

And I give my dogs half a serving of FD (which is grain free) and a quarter cup of Honest Kitchen clusters. I'm worried about going grain free because I've read there's some evidence it can cause heart issues. Who knows.

Just tried it. I was at $625 for full size with Costco and maybe 56k ur points. I can get standard from Budget for $505. That's better. Thank you so much!!!
