If we used a CSR for taxes on flights for 2023, do we now need to keep that card for a year? Or can we downgrade it and apply for a new CSR? (DH's 4-year anniversary is coming up soon)

We haven't ever churned a card so I'm not sure how this works.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I downgraded mine to a CSP in the hopes that the insurance would still apply (at the CSP level). When you file a claim, they ask for the statement that the charge was on. The account number is still the same.

My recent travel delay claim would have been a good test. But I just checked and the charge was a few days after I downgraded to the CSP.

If you want to apply for a new CSR, you'd have to downgrade to a non-Sapphire. I think there's still some travel insurance on those, but not as good. You might not want the Mastercard one since then the account number would change.

I haven't seen any dps and I know I can do it via chat, but worth my time to ask for retention on Hilton surpass? I did spend 15k for the fnc so kinda figure theco Peter will just laugh at me and have nothing.
Not Hilton but my Amex Marriott I got a retention offer of 30k points for $3k spend and I rarely charge anything on that card.

one more question...if P2 did the MDD,and we need to PC both cards...should we do both in one call,or 2 different calls? Or should I PC with one, and cancel the other?

Same here on Delta (and the routes have changed 3 times because of the massive time changes). And I keep getting emails from them saying "your trip has changed" and it's freaking me out, even though it must just be minutes difference at this point. One time I almost didn't realize they'd moved us to a red eye, because our departure from SLC was going to be 10:XXam and they moved us to 10:XX pm so I didn't even notice the first time I looked. We ended up moving our return back a day because of the change, so shaving 1 evening off our typical trip, but I supposed I saved a lot of Bonvoy points. Still annoying. 10 days to go so hoping we're not have any bad luck.
Was this flight going to Orlando? Im just wondering as I thought they had several flights a day going
there. That 10 p.m. time they changed you to threw me.

Yes, it would have to be downgraded to a FF or something like that so he could apply for a new Sapphire. I think we'll have to chance it with next summer's flights but I guess we will wait for our Fall trip before we bother switching things up. I'm so annoyed that neither one of us thought about this when we used that card. :sad2:

Kind of off topic but, can anyone recommend any cheap but decent binoculars? I know nothing about them, except that everyone seems to indicate we should have a pair for Yellowstone/Tetons, lol. I'm looking for something on Amazon, in the $20-40 range, and then I can use my CFF for 5x URs this quarter (to keep this cc related, ha).
If you didn't think binoculars were necessary for YNP and GTNP, please let me know too! I'm just going off the different travel blogs I've been perusing.

We really enjoyed having binoculars. There's so much traffic that when you get a good spot to park and see wildlife, you really want to stay put for a while. There are also lots of places where it is not at all necessary. the bison and elk are right on top of you :-)

I'm thinking about using my Dell credit to get a Fitbit. Can anyone offer advice about these options: Fitbit Charge 5; Fitbit Luxe; Fitbit Versa 2; Fitbit Versa 3; and Fitbit Sense? (These are in order of price, more or less, with the Fitbit Charge and Luxe the cheapest at $149 and the Sense the most expensive at $299.)

Both DH and I have the Fitbit Sense purchased with Dell credits. If I recall, I purchased it specifically bc it had the longer charge time, wallet feature and text message feature. I think it's stylish. I use mine at a VERY basic level, like tracking steps and reading text messages. I do like that I can see a call coming in on my watch and decide if it's important to find my phone, rather than being tethered to my phone all of the time. My husband uses the sleep feature a lot to track his sleep. It also tracks your skin temperature, if that's important to you. I really use my at a very basic level. I'd read somewhere that you increase your steps by 20% almost immediately once you start tracking your steps. I would say I increased my step count dramatically because it's really eye-opening.

IDK if you can pricematch this if it's a better price elsewhere. I've never done that, but I thought that's a popular thing to do.

@LilSweetPeaPhoto - in last year's thread you talked about getting your DS the "knock off" airpods from DHGate. I was just wondering if they are still going strong? I was thinking about ordering them. The only time I'd use earbuds would be while flying, so I was thinking of getting these for occasional use. DH says I shouldn't be so tight and just buy the regular ones, but I figure if the others work fine, why not??

Don’t forget that tomorrow is the last day to apply for the elevated Amex Gold SUB - 90,000 + $250 restaurant credit.
And the Plat with the 150,000 + 10x points at restaurants.
Is the Plat worth it for just the 150k and 10x restaurants? I doubt I'll be able to make the AF worth it without the huge welcome bonus. My wife applied for the Gold at the end of March. Would she be ok to apply for the Plat?

Thanks for this info. I somehow missed this 90K deal.

I am 4/24, so if I apply for this I will be 5/24 until September (and another dropping off in Oct). I am thinking I could apply for this now and then maybe in August apply for another Chase biz card or just wait until Sept or Oct. Anything wrong with this strategy?

If you are on our Reddit Amex support group, you may want to check your support links. A few of them do not work at all, and I couldn't pull up the 90K through any of the few I tried (multiple browsers and incognito). I will try again tomorrow if I proceed with applying for this card.

Hey, that’s the quirk you have to remember about going to 5/24. It precludes you from Chase biz cards. You have to be under 5/24 to be eligible for Chase biz card. But you could do another biz card that doesn’t count towards 5/24, like Amex.

New Wells Fargo "Autograph" card coming in July. Decent SUB for a no AF card and really attractive rewards categories. For me, this easily beats Savor, SavorOne, and the old WF Propel as the best travel and dining cashback card.

Welcome bonus 30,000 points on $1,500 in first 3 months (worth $300)

3x on dining, transit, travel, streaming, services, gas, phone plans

1x everywhere else.

No annual fee.

No foreign transaction fees.

Visa Signature benefits.

Once this launches I'll be running the following lineup:
- Blue Cash Preferred, 6% groceries
- WF Autograph, 3% travel and dining
- Chase Prime, 5% Amazon
- Citi Custom Cash, 5% gas
- BOA Custom Cash, 3% online shopping
- Discover It, 5% rotating
- Ollo Optimum, 2.5% everything

I'm really satisfied with that stack, especially with only one $95 AF between them. I'll also hold a JetBlue and a Southwest card for the bennies, and they pretty much pay for themselves with their anniversary bonuses.

After that I'm probably done with my lineup and I'll just start chasing fat SUBs.
