So I've opened 5 Chase accounts (personal and biz) within the last two years. Most recent was on Jan. 25, 2022 (over four months ago).

Is it safe to open a CIU or would that be too many for a shutdown? Currently under 5/24. I know the rule is every three months but wanted to confirm. Can have my P2 refer me, too.

Don't forget to use door dash credits. If you haven't used any this is thr first month you'll have 15 and the first month you'll lose 5 if you don't use it.
do they get used automatically? LIke, do I just make the purchase with the CSR and it credits,or do I have to sign up somewhere?

How many non-Chase accounts have you opened in the past two years? 5/24 isn't Chase accounts only.

It's not too many for a shutdown. You should be okay. As I remember, you've mainly stayed with Chase cards.

Was this flight going to Orlando? Im just wondering as I thought they had several flights a day going
there. That 10 p.m. time they changed you to threw me.

No, it's SLC --> RDU. It's the 2nd leg of our return from Bozeman (Yellowstone/Tetons). Can you imagine if I never caught it and we arrived in SLC at 8:something am and then realized our next flight was 14 hours away? :teeth:

Kind of off topic but, can anyone recommend any cheap but decent binoculars? I know nothing about them, except that everyone seems to indicate we should have a pair for Yellowstone/Tetons, lol. I'm looking for something on Amazon, in the $20-40 range, and then I can use my CFF for 5x URs this quarter (to keep this cc related, ha).
If you didn't think binoculars were necessary for YNP and GTNP, please let me know too! I'm just going off the different travel blogs I've been perusing.

DEFINITELY want binoculars. And actually, the more the better. Someone suggested that everyone have a pair before we brought our kids for the first time when they were like 13 and 10 and we did end up with 4 pairs. Admittedly, we already had 2 decent pairs we owned, so we got a cheap one for one of the kids and a new nice Nikon for the adults. We still have the Nikons which was purchased in 2007 and we'll take it back with us on our trip next week. (However we use binoculars a fair amount anyway - even for backyard birding, lol).

I live in a delta hub and frequently fly delta. I am looking for points for my next trip to Disney. We don’t check luggage. Should I apply for the delta card or the Amex card? I have all the Chase cards at this point.

SkyMiles Gold is running a 60,000 SUB (usually 40,000) with AF waived for the first year. You might as well grab it, and if you hate it at least you'll have the SUB. The rewards are kind of sucky so I wouldn't keep it long term if you don't check bags, but with no annual fee the first year it's basically a free 60,000 SkyMiles.

Which Amex card? Remember you can always transfer MR's to Delta so if you don't need the Delta card for luggage look for the most MR's.

@LilSweetPeaPhoto - in last year's thread you talked about getting your DS the "knock off" airpods from DHGate. I was just wondering if they are still going strong? I was thinking about ordering them. The only time I'd use earbuds would be while flying, so I was thinking of getting these for occasional use. DH says I shouldn't be so tight and just buy the regular ones, but I figure if the others work fine, why not??

So I got my son the knock of regular airpods. For some reason the left airpod stopped working. The BF gave him a pair of fake airpod pros for his birthday this month, and same issue w/ the left airpod. I have the fake airpod pros as does the BF and they are going strong. So I wonder if something is wonky w/ Brady's. He also uses his WAY WAY WAY more often than we do. I haven't had time to investigate a ton as to why it's happening, since it's happening with a few pairs now. We did try resetting his phone with no luck. But for $12 even if they only lasted him a year it's worth it, since he's 13 and loses stuff, LOL.

I had to search through multiple referral links to get the platinum 150,000 + 10x at restaurants to come up. You can also try searching with a private browser.
Hmmmmm I got it to give me the Gold 90,000, but I'm not sure if I did or didn't get the dining credit.

It would explicitly say that it includes the credit. The platinum offer where I applied showed the 150,000 points and mentioned the 10x on restaurants with an expiration of today. Did you already apply?

I cancelled my Charles Schwab Amex this morning by chat.
I was offered 30,000 for $3000 spend which I declined.
I think this is next for me eventually I would keep it to lower the AF of the platinum. The problem is I'm not sure how good Charles swab is.

More than likely you did. Congrats on the nice bonus!

I let my gold go last time around, but it was great for 3 years. The last year I just wasn't using it enough to justify keeping it. But If I got a shot at a bonus like that again I'd be there.

I generally prefer cash back over rewards, so at the end of the first year I'll have to decide whether to keep 4x MRs on the Gold or 6x cash back on the Blue Cash Preferred. I won't carry both AFs.
