Has anyone cancelled a current Instant Cart membership and rejoined with the CSR/CSP benefit? I'm not exactly sure how to do this. My current membership renews on 9/22 so I've already cancelled it, but it's still active until then.

I came across this before. Link I think you're right, it can be an issue.

I always buy my parents' policy separately because I have different concerns for them (pre-existing conditions, medical coverage outside the US). It usually ends up being a different company than what we get. For my family of 4, I usually get one of the kids free policies. I should think more about this issue the next time I buy a policy for a cruise.

Are your excursions prepaid and nonrefundable? Cruise taxes are usually refundable, so I don't add those in. The insurance cost usually goes up per $500/person ($1001 is the same cost as $1500), so I always find the top of the bracket that contains the amount I need. :)

I think it posted pretty much immediately after the charge posted, but not while it was pending. The T&Cs say within 2 days of posting.

I am NOT a cruise expert. But I have filed my fare share of claims for trip insurance and part of the process when filing a claim is sending in the invoices for your expenses as well as copies of your cc statements proving that you made those payments. You are correct, it does average the insured amount across all travelers. I personally think I would break up the insurance by household groups and leave it at that. That way you can easily tie the cc statements to the invoices, and that might help with expensive cabins vs non-expensive cabins. This might also make sense if one household might not travel, but the other would. I don't know that the insurance company would itemize the cost for passenger 1 vs passenger 2 in a room, even if you are getting a "discount" from the cruise line for booking it way. My guess is that they would just equalize that cost. But again, I've never filed a claim for a cruise.

You also mentioned "If I cancel the trip" so I assume you've researched what reasons would be covered if you cancel and what % you would get back?
Also, when I've filed a claim, usually each individual receives a check. If you are insuring your full costs (and that can be proven with a cc statement), there's nothing to prevent you from cashing your checks and then amongst yourselves, dividing in a fair manner.
thank you both for giving me food for thought. My party is DH and my 4 kids. I'm sorry for thinking "out loud" here but let's say I do cancel (only the cruise fare for discussion purposes). I have to send the X many credit card statements where I paid off the cruise. In addition, I have to send the invoices for each of the cabins where the total of the amounts paid should add up to the credit card statements. So in that case, it will be more difficult to separate each person to file claims on multiple insurance policies. So I'm back to thinking either insurance per cabin or just all together at the highest amount.

Hopefully, I never have to find out how any of this works but with our parents getting older and just spending so much more than I've ever spent on a trip, I think its worthwhile to try and wrap my head around it.

I think per cabin would make sense. I'm currently helping my dad with a claim. Lucky I only put their cabin on 2 cards and only had to send 2 cc statements.

Instacart order 8/25 and the $10 posted to my freedom already. I wasn't sure if it would because I had a $20 off targeted from PayPal. I know credits from a retailer when you use PayPal can be hit or miss, so opted for the $20 over the $10. Got both, which was a lovely surprise!

Used Staples on chase freedom, Disney, SW sometime around 8/20 and credits all posted, too. Maybe issue specific to your card? Or to CSR?
I just want to make sure I’m understanding the instacart credit correct. When u use the chase card it should show as a credit on the chase acct right?
I sent Chase a SM and they wrote back that it is through instacart and I would have a credit on my instacart acct. Um what?

HUCA. Lol. They are wrong. Wait a day and try SM again
But double check that you have activated the benefit and used the right card.

How many tickets are you buying? Is it worth it to get a new card for the SUB?
It's going to be 4 tickets for 8 days so about $2,800 so potentially worth getting a new card. Problem is I haven't been travelling too much so I don't know if I should get a hotel card like Hilton Aspire, or something like Citi Premier (most of my points balance is with Chase and AMEX).

Current cards: (At 3/24)
CSP
CF
CFU
United Explorer
United Quest
Ink Business Cash
Disney VISA
Citi Double Cash
Sears Your Way
Discover It
AMEX BBP
AMEX Amazon
Amtrak World Mastercard
Jetblue Plus

So the Cap One Pre-approval is not all accurate LOL. Dh only had the Venture One showing for his, but he just got instant approval on the Venture X (I am impatient, waiting for Chase, I have stuff to pay).
If Chase approves now, I see some Venmo in my 90 day future LOL

I just got a call from Citi's fraud department to verify that I applied for the Premier yesterday. I confirmed my application and address, and immediately after that, I got the email that I've been approved. Citi is stingy with their credit lines though, lol I only got $8K. It's ok, the MSR is $4K so it will work.

I realized I can use my September instacart credit to send dd a birthday cake from Publix in Atlanta. Was going to send her a cake from a local bakery, but after she cracked her windshield (not her fault but costing me $500) and broke her ray bans (again not her fault and I offered to replace them), my budget is now more in line with a Publix cake using my instacart credit:)
From what I understand you can't go wrong with a Publix cake!

What four other shows make your list? We are trying to decide what to see in London in October. I've read the book that Come From Away is based on, but have not seen the live production.
If I am remembering correctly, @CalifoniaGirl09 has recommended Six and Mamma Mia in the past for London shows. Six was not showing the night we had available and we had already seen Mamma Mia in NY. Our youngest wanted to see Moulin Rouge and the reviews were definitely mixed from the 4 of us. Part of what I love about the shows is the music that is written specifically for the show. I think Moulin Rouge only had one original song.

Enjoy London! We had a great time and will definitely be going back.

I always recommend Mamma Mia, I have seen it many many times. It's just plain fun.
My dd is obsessed with Six, I will be seeing it here in November.
I do not know what else is showing on the West End right now.

"P2" just applied for a new Chase Biz card, he never gets instant approval which is crazy because I do and I have twice as many Chase cards as he does.
Also, the Chrome browser was giving me Bad Error message, I had to use Safari to apply...I mean P2.

I saw Mamma Mia in May in London. The performer who plays Donna is so good!
