I'm literally the only one who gets service in our office (hospital basement). Used to be Sprint only but then T-Mobile bought Sprint. Verizon, AT&T no good.
This is funny because in my basement office (why are we always in the basement lol) t mobile gets no service at all. Everything else does.

I switch back and forth att and Verizon every 2-3 years to get free phones.

Ya the kitchen is always in the basement. Lol. We're under radiology/ED so I heard the walls are very thick. 🤷🏼‍♀️ But also we used to have a Nextel system for intra hospital communication, which was Sprint, now T-Mobile. So Sprint always worked. I think AT&T works sometimes but the one person in our office who has Verizon says she never has a signal. (Either that or she's just ignoring our messages).

So far I've used one $300 credit and paid one AF. I'll get another $300 after my November statement posts and my AF shouldn't hit again until March. So I'll definitely use it again before the AF posts and then decide if I want to keep it. Every year do you PC a card to the CSR to get the $300 credit right away and delay the AF posting? DW only has one Chase personal card which is the CF and that was PC'd from the CSP. She's at 5/24 until March 2023. Maybe when she's under I'll apply her for the CFF just to get her a second card that can be PC'd to a CSR. In the meantime can I PC her CF again in less than a year?
Ok trying to understand how this works... does that mean that you forego the SUB so you can get the card benefits? I like the idea of switching between. DH has CSP and I have CSR right now.

Update - I called Hilton directly and they opened a case which was sent directly to the general manager of that Hampton Inn. The general manager then emailed me saying this: She apologizes for my inconvenience. She had the room inspected but did not find any bed bugs. Unfortunately, since I paid through a 3rd party, they cannot refund any money, but they can give me 15,000 Hilton points or send me a certificate for a free night at their exact hotel on my next trip to their little town (as if I would ever stay there again.) She wants me to pick which one I would like.

This makes me so mad. I don't believe they cannot refund me. A couple of years ago, I paid for a room using Chase but the hotel was overbooked so they not only refunded my room through Chase but they paid for my room at a nearby hotel. So I know they can do it.

Also, I found the bed bug and gave it to the front desk so why do they keep telling me they did not find bed bugs.

Thanks everyone for your advice. What should I do next? I haven't yet written a scathing review because I was thinking management would be more likely to do the right thing but now, I am so mad.

I need some collective wisdom. A while back DH got a BofA Amtrak card, which had a very nice SUB. It was only available for a short time and they pulled it. This week he got a letter from Amtrak that they are changing banks to FNBO. Is it worth keeping the card at a $99 fee? It's not really giving me anything extra really.

I closed mine a couple of years ago. I do have a bunch of Amtrak points and I keep them alive by doing surveys. I never qualify for the surveys, probably because of age. But, I get a consolation award of 5 points which keeps my Amtrak points alive until I decide to use them. I also tried using the shopping portal and it took almost a year before those points credited. The 5 points credited instantly. The points I have will pay for autotrain and room plus car, so I didn't want to lose them during the pandemic when I wasn't buying or traveling. I'm earmarking them for possible use on my January/February Disney trip.

I'm in the process of streamlining my credit card websites, and I'm not going to be accepting any future changes that unload me to service providers that require extra monitoring. If the new service provider is acceptable, I'd prefer to get a new credit card with a signup bonus.

Could hit as a new acct with the bank change and affect his 5/24. If you aren't using it I'd cancel before the switch. Plus that could leave open for the new card if the sub is good and you need more Amtrak points.

I've been watching to see if Amtrak will offer a new card since new apps disappeared from their website. It's been a while. So far, a big fat Nothing. I'd happily sign up for a new signup bonus and start earning again and possibly churn it.

We like Verizon. Two of our adult kids are still on our family plan, we have 12 GB of shared data we never use fully and it rolls over, plus the mobile hot spot which is a must for us, $175 a month for 4 lines. Verizon keeps telling us we could switch to unlimited data for less, but we would lose the hot spot feature. We buy our own phones.
I hate VERIZON! For stupid reasons that go back to years ago, that involved incorrect billing that took forever to get resolved. That said, their cell towers are the best around here and I'm lucky enough to be able to use them through Comcast/Xfinity.

Been doing it since Comcast started cell service a few years ago and have had the benefit of Verizon towers since that's what Xfinity runs on. My bill for 3 phones is under $30 a month using by the gig payment. We are usually on wifi at home and for daughter, at home and work. I am also careful to use store wifi when shopping at such places as Sam's Club, Target, Walmart etc. My data rate is $12 a gig, but for new it's gone up to $15, I think. As Xfinity increases the phone customer base, the prices get higher and if you ignore the 'by the gig' pricing their rates seem to be coming inline with other providers.

You can buy the phone outright, bring your own phone or pay monthly over 2 years on your account. It's billed separately from the cable, which you have to have to use the phone service.

Right now it works really well for me, but there's no guarantee it will continue.

Figure out how many Hilton points it takes to equal the cost of your new hotel and the Hampton Inn and ask for that amount. They owed you the Hampton Inn room reimbursement based on their service policy and couldn't house you since they were fully booked when your room essentially went out of service.

I've received a Hampton Inn reimbursement at the desk without even asking when I went to complain about the promised service of a cot delivery for a child not being met. At the time I didn't even know they had such a policy.

All else failing I would also try Chase.

You really need to call them out by review/social media/whatever.

My daughter just got to London and bought her sim card from a local seller (GiffGaff). It is supposed to be good in Great Britain and Europe, costs are listed in pounds.
15 GB for 10 pounds
30 GB for 15 pounds
100 GB for 20 pounds
Unlimited data for 35 pounds

We suspended her normal phone account/number since she will be gone 3.5 months.
Do you where she bought the sim? DW and I will be in London and the end of the month and my plan was to buy a prepaid sim at Heathrow.

I got the bonus in 2020 with the CSP so I’m not eligible for another right now. Once my DW and I can get the bonus again we’ll apply but until then I think we’ll take turns holding the CSR and double dipping on the $300 travel bonus.

I think when I got the card for DH, it was only up for a week or so. I was in the middle of a spend, so I didn't get it right away... and then it was GONE!

I am seriously considering trying the xfinity mobile service for $15 per month. I have a "home phone" that used to be a landline but I switched it to xfinity VOIP service. I really want to keep that phone number so I am thinking to port it to a cell phone instead. I am a little worried that I may "lose" my phone number in the porting process, though that may be an irrational fear lol. Once I get rid of my VOIP service I can more easily reduce my monthly comcast bill

So funny, I HATE XFINITY. Lol. Mostly because of their customer service. In IL, I was able to dump XFINITY completely. I agree Verizon tends to be more expensive but we have had great coverage. I’ve saved so much money dumping XFINITY for TV and internet.

Comcast/Xfinity needs you to have 2? services with them to get the phone service, such as the VOIP or cable tv or internet. We have basic cable and internet. My DD just streams whatever she wants and also shares stuff like Disney + with her brother, and something else with her sister. I just watch news, weather and whatever trash is on the basic if I feel I want to, as my primary fun is reading on the internet.

My problem with Verizon came down to losing my home number that I wanted to keep, many years ago.

A heads up: converting from VOIP probably won't give you the $400 promos they run every so often on new phones. They want a transfer of service from a competitor. One way to take advantage is to buy a cheap no contract phone at Walmart or Target.

I’m at the VW dealer getting a trim piece installed. They charge 3% to use a credit card for parts and service. 🧐. Bummed I don’t have enough Visa gift cards in my purse. I wonder how many more places will start to pass on their fees like this.
Any Staples stores nearby?

Would the 3% charge not apply when using a Visa Gift Card? I had to pay the service charge when I used GCs to pay my tuition

We've had them all over the years. Xfinity tv and internet is good here but awful where my son lives, so ymmv. Xfinity phone is verizon so working for me as a back door.

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but when a gift card has a 'fee' attached to it, even when waived by Staples or whoever, that is in effect the service charge or transaction fee.

I 'assumed' but don't really know, that the gift card is a 'free' transaction for the company that accepts the Visa or MC gift card. Like getting actual cash as you have already paid the bill for the gift card as opposed to a credit card transaction where the credit card company actually takes over the liability for the bill and may charge you interest and also charge a transaction fee.

Anyone actually know the dynamic here? I could be way off and may be *** u me'ing too much.
