For those of you who are there for an extended period after the race, how long do you keep wearing your medals? Only that day? For an entire week? Until your legs stop hurting?
We wear our medals day of whichever race and then medal Monday. After that we’re done.

ETA: Merch/shirts are another story! I’d wear those whenever.

Expected Race Pace - 13:30 while it is dark (I will not stop at characters) then probably around 15 to 16 when the sun comes out to do all the stops

I have no idea what my time will be since I am doing two different paces, but I like to get as much miles in while it is dark and cooler so skipping all characters till the sun comes out, then once the sun comes out picture time!

Thought someone here has definitely done it and upon searching old posts, it’s @FFigawi! And probably others. I’d love to do either ToT or Aerosmith but I’m terrified that i wouldn’t be able to get out of the seats afterwards.
I did both ToT and Aerosmith in the 2019 W&D half. BUT I entered HS about 2 min after early entry began. I was on the very first elevator for ToT and did the single rider line for Aerosmith. The whole process for both took about a half hour with very few people already in line for each (they each have a preshow).

Thank you so much @DopeyBadger! Also, getting super excited reading everybody's costume plans.

Marathon Weekend 2023 DIS LIST

Alright everyone, as promised I will put together a spreadsheet that has everyone that wishes to participate in the spreadsheet's information on it. We do this as a means to help people find each other on race day at either the pre-race/post-race meet-ups, in the starting groups, or just by chance on the course. I will ask for information and you can choose to provide or not provide any information as you desire (or not participate at all). The only key parts are Dis name, estimated pace/POT from registration, and expected pace. All others are optional. This will also be helpful to your family and spectators because it provides "time of day" markers for when you should reach different milestones based on your estimated pace and starting time (starting group).

So for every race that you (or friend/family member) plan to participate in (so Goofy and Dopey people I need each race separately, 5k, 10k, HM, M...) please provide me the following:

RACE -
NAME -
DIS'er name -
Costume/Clothing -
Estimated Pace/Finish/POT from Registration -
Club runDisney Platinum? -
(Yes or No)
Pre-Race Meet-up? - (Yes or No)
Front, Middle, or Back of starting group -
Early Bird or Late Arriver -
Expected Race Pace -

I will compile everyone's response into a single spreadsheet and then distribute this when we get closer to race day. As for the optional items, the following reasons have been given for why someone may choose not to provide:

NAME - Because I want internet anonymity. Just first name or initials are fine. Or nothing at all is fine too.
Estimated Pace/Finish/POT from Registration: If you know now that you will be starting in a different group than assigned, then give me the group you plan to start in. The estimate for the M/HM should be the estimated finish time you selected (for instance 4:30-5:00 for a M or Dopey). I will assume one starting group on a single HM/M bib for Dopey runners. So whatever your M assignment will be the same as your HM assignment.
Pre-Race Meet-up? - Not required to attend or not attend the meet up. Just gives us an idea of who to look out for morning of.
Early Bird or Late arriver just means whether you think you'll arrive to the meet-up/starting group early in the race morning or late in the race morning.
Front, Middle, Back of corral just means where you plan on lining up when the race starts. This helps people find you easier in a crowd if say two people are in s3, that are early birds, and front people. Then I'd look for your costume on race day. As well it helps with timing to know whether you're closer to the front of your group or back.

Once I "like" your post with the above information in it I have added you to the compiled list.

I will include timing information about the races based on past history but no guarantee they follow the same system as before.

The DIS List also contains:

-Timing information for each race (like what time the corrals open, or the walkout to the HM/M start line)
-Pre-Race Meetup location and timing (FYI we changed to the light post for Princess 2022 so ignore the meetup locale in this PDF)
-When you individually will hit milestones on course based on your estimated pace and start time estimate.
-A suggestion as to whether your spectating friends will need to take a pre-race bus or a post-race start bus to see you at the finish line.
-HH meetup information
-Riding rides estimates based on your pace and start time
-Alcohol locations on course
-Real bathroom locations on course
-Magic Kingdom dark sky estimates based on your pace and start
-Pacer information (if available)
-DATW information

Hi. I'm mostly a lurker but the boards have been super helpful to me with all the information and experience people have to offer here! I have a question/advice for folks here about Everest timing. I completed my first Full at Disney last January and will be completing my second at Marathon weekend this year. I really want to ride Everest but I'm trying to figure out what the timing looks like. Last year, I started at around 5:15 AM and hit the 20 mile split in 3:46. Everest is around the 17 mile marker , correct? My training has been going well and I'm hoping to improve this year, but I'm also desperate to ride Everest mid race. I guess what I'm asking is what's the fastest you can be and still make it to AK when Everest starts running? (Not that I think I'll be THAT fast lol, but I'm just trying to gauge if doing some character stops between MK and AK might actually help me time Everest better?) Hopefully, this makes sense. Any advice is welcome!

Here are some rough numbers:

Screen Shot 2022-12-15 at 2.44.09 PM.png

The six corrals (whether they be named s1 or A) and their estimated start times based on historical data. If the race doesn't start "on-time" (5:00am) or if the corral release schedule is different than the usually normal 60 min, then this information would change. I set the Everest ride time cutoff at 30 min. So the balloon ladies are estimated to reach Everest at approximately 10:30am. So I would say if you arrive later than 10am, you probably want to consider not riding it. To read the above, if you started in Corral s3 (or C), then you have an estimated start time of 5:26 and can run no faster than 8:04 min/mile pace and no slower than 12:01 min/mile pace to fall within the window of riding Everest.

Screen Shot 2022-12-15 at 2.44.14 PM.png

For TOT/RnR, based on historical data you want to allot approximately 45 min to ride both. So the cutoff is set at 11:20am with a balloon lady arrival around 12:08pm. A person in s5 (or Corral E) would start around 5:42, and want to run no faster than a 7:22 min/mile and no slower than a 14:49 min/mile to fall into the window of riding TOT/RnR.

Here's my EE from the 2020 Marathon. I'm in the last row with my daughter. We used the single rider lane; the few folks in front of us let us cut them and the CM put us together on the next ride.

I loved doing it, but I have to say it got me "off my game" and I struggled a bit for the rest of the race. After the ride and an umbrella drink, my body said "good job we're done now, right?" No, there are 9 more hot, very hot miles to go.
