I can't imagine how crazy it gets at the more crowded times of year at some of the most popular CS places. We had trouble at the end of January at an off time of day around 2pm at Woody's LB. I know they just added the TS in TSL so hopefully it will help a bit.
We have the same issue as DD22 has multiple food allergies and we cannot mobile order our food.
LOL on the cash.....we learned our lesson this year at FotArts. The food booth we were so excited to try had connectivity issues and could only accept cash so we had to eat at other booths. Our next visit to Epcot a few days later we brought cash jic because we were DETERMINED to eat from that booth!! Germany I think??? All was well with their systems that day but we were prepared.
Fortunately, my daughter took care of just ordering her own food at the counter while the rest of us mobile ordered. Most times she had her food about the same time we did, but a few times it took much longer for her food.
As for the cash...many years ago DH & I and the 5 kids were getting snacks and drinks at a cart. We had everything in our hands and DH went to pay with his MB and the system went down. The kids had already opened their drinks and snacks. We waited a minute hoping it was just a glitch. Nope. We had a little bit of cash with us in case we came across a stand that didn't take credit/MB (that wasn't uncommon at the time) but even with us scraping all our cash together, we were still about $20 short. DH & I hadn't opened our drinks or snacks yet so we told the CM to take those back. She said, "No, it's not your fault. Keep the drinks and snacks and enjoy your day. Mickey will take care of the balance." It was a nice gesture (and I'm sure they didn't lose money on us even though we were $20 short). The system ended up being down for over an hour that day. We now make sure to carry about $50 cash with us every day we're in a park. We've never needed to use it since then, but I'd rather have it and not need it.
