Girls Trip Take 2 - Labor Day Weekend 2021 and Christmas 2021 Trip

This sounded like a great day. We never eat much while at Disney but all of the food we see everyone else eat looks so good. I think the heat gets to us more and we are just not hungry.

Such a fabulous day at Animal Kingdom! Love all the pictures, the food and the drinks. Everyone looks so relaxed and happy!

Plus you did two of my favourites....FotLK and the Bird Show! Love that! :goodvibes

We don't usually eat near as much as we would like to while at Disney due to the heat. I'm surprised at how much we did eat on this day.

Saturday, September 6, 2021- Epcot- More Food
We rested and freshened up before returning to the parks. Danielle was not with us so it was take the bus or bust. We made it to Epcot between 5 and 5:30. We stopped for more pictures, because that's what you do when it's a Girl's trip.

We didn't spend much time in Future World, believe it or not we were hungry again and wanted to try some of the F&W booths that were in World Showcase. I did get some more pictures of Remy and Emile as we made our way towards WS.
1698369228959.png
Loved the plants in Gumbo pots.

1698369351376.png

It was such a beautiful evening and the colors of the festival looked so perfect.
Once we made it to the beginning of WS we had to choose which way to go, left or right. We had gone left on our first visit so we should go right, right? Well, we actually went a little left first so we could hit the Hawaii booth.
I got the Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts.
1698369544906.png
I also got the Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet-and-Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayo.
1698370115823.png
Both were really good. I did share with everyone else so we all got a taste.
Having gone left it was time to go right now.

We backtracked to The Noodle Exchange so Leah could get the Tofu Pho with Enoki Mushrooms and Thai Basil. I don't know much about Pho but she said she didn't like it. I think it was too spicy for her.

1698369739544.png
We next started heading towards the Refreshment Port. We were looking for 3 things there.

Michelle loves Poutine and wanted some.

1698370239480.png

We were looking for another Remy, which we found while we were in line.
1698370284070.png

And the most important goal we were looking for was Danielle. She was working here as the fry cook. When Danielle said she wanted to do the College Program Dennis use to joke with her that she was taking her college degree to make fries. We had to send him a picture of just that.

1698370414035.png

All joking aside, when you sign up for the College Program you sign up to do the jobs that Disney needs you to do. Lots of young adults get great jobs with Disney but lots also get the not so great ones. You're doing the program to learn from one of the best customer service programs and you're going there to work, not just have fun. You also have the opportunity to work you way up. Most CMs don't start with the job they want but if they stick it out they can end up with the job they want.

1698370656004.png

We weren't just in line to see Danielle. Leah got the Maple Boursin Cheesecake with Whipped Boursin Maple Bourbon Cheese and Candied Pecans. The was the best desert we had the whole trip.
1698370750361.png

Michelle got her beloved Traditional Poutine, French Fries, Beef Gravy, Boursin Cracked Black Pepper Crumbles and Cheese Curds. She of course loved it.
1698370842544.png

We found a spot behind the Canada booth where there was some benches. Michelle and Leah sat with our food while I got in line for some more food. This has become our spot for feasting on the last few trips. We used it just last month.

I had the Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup served with Pretzel Bread. It was a small serving but just right to go with all the other food we had.
1698371058104.png

Michelle got the "Le Cellier" Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle-Butter Sauce. This was the best savory dish we had. I forgot about the Diet Coke with the special cup we got at the Refreshment Port but it's included in Michelle's picture.

1698371174597.png

After all that food we were finally "full as a tick on a seven day lick". It was time to walk off some of it. We made our way to Norway to ride Frozen. The night was looking just a beautiful as the day had been.
1698371379741.png

1698371403117.png

We waiting about 25 minutes to ride but sadly our ride photo did not come out. I'm guessing someone didn't have their mask on. Disney was deleting ride photos if everyone didn't have their masks on back then.

Continued in next post.

We did stop after our ride so Leah could get a traditional photo with the Troll.

1698371804860.png

We made our way around WS looking in all the stores but not getting anymore food. Michelle always enjoys Italy and had to stop for more photos to send to Jimmy.
1698371879246.png
1698371903109.png

I took a few photos in France. I had signed up to do the AP preview of Remy for this night but skipped it. I had signed up before Danielle had won her preview and doing it with everyone was a lot more fun than doing it alone.

1698372013978.png
1698372035137.png

We made our way back to the beginning of WS and picked a spot to watch Epcot Forever. Danielle had been raving about it. She loved it for all the nostalgia of the old Epcot attractions. She also heard it every night while working so she knew it by heart. She wasn't with us but we did enjoy the show.

1698372185756.png

1698372212725.png
1698372242008.png

We closed the park down and then headed back to Movies to get some rest. The next day was a big one, Michelle would be flying home, Danielle had to work and Leah and I were headed to Studios. We would also be going to Disney After Hours Boo Bash. Danielle would be coming with us after she got off work.

Thanks for sticking with us.

Love reading this report. I was hesitant to post our trip reports from December 2022 and April 2023, but now I'm not so hesitant. Not sure I will, but this thread gives me hope that I will not be made fun and that people will still read despite it being almost a year old.

Danielle was not with us to it was take the bus or bust.
Nah.
You could take an Uber
You could take a cab
You could rent a car
You could take bikes (suck it up, Michelle!)

:duck:
I should stop now, huh?

Nah.
You could walk.
You could jog.
You could hire a rickshaw.
You could hire a hot air balloon.
You could...

We stopped for more pictures, because that's what you do when it's a Girl's trip.
1698369072982.png
Don't look so shocked. I mean... If Tink is gonna hang out anywhere, it's gonna be at Disney.
believe it or not we were hungry again and wanted to try some of the F&W booths
Those booths are like a siren's call.
Loved the plants in Gumbo pots.
!!
You're LA is showing. I wonder how many others would call them that. I'd call that a Stock Pot.
We had gone left on our first visit so we should go right, right? Well, we actually went a little left first
Two options... so we did neither!
I also got the Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet-and-Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayo.
mmmm...
We backtracked to The Noodle Exchange so Leah could get the Tofu Pho with Enoki Mushrooms and Thai Basil. I don't know much about Pho but she said she didn't like it. I think it was too spicy for her.
Too bad. It sounded good.
Michelle loves Poutine and wanted some.
Then she needs to come up here. Well... not "here", where I live, but over there in Quebec.
And the most important goal we were looking for was Danielle.
:lmao:
I thought you were going to say a cronut!
Dennis use to joke with her that she was taking her college degree to make fries.
:rotfl:
Like this shot. Big sister proud of little sister. :goodvibes
Leah got the Maple Boursin Cheesecake with Whipped Boursin Maple Bourbon Cheese and Candied Pecans. The was the best desert we had the whole trip.
Whoa, that sounds good.
Michelle got the "Le Cellier" Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle-Butter Sauce. This was the best savory dish we had.
Huh! I had avoided this as I thought it would be too heavy... Should've stuck with my original thought. (Had it on my list.)
After all that food we were finally "full as a tick on a seven day lick".

:lmao:
Like this shot. :)
sadly our ride photo did not come out. I'm guessing someone didn't have their mask on. Disney was deleting ride photos if everyone didn't have their masks on back then.
Really! I had no idea they were doing that.
We did stop after our ride so Leah could get a traditional photo with the Troll.
But of course. :)
We made our way around WS looking in all the stores but not getting anymore food.
Oh? Why not?

:duck:
Wish they had how to pronounce them too.
I have no idea, but guessing Mi Chiamo sounds nothing like how I'm pronouncing it in my head.
We made our way back to the beginning of WS and picked a spot to watch Epcot Forever.
Never got the chance to see it. Ah well. It's Forever, right?

Right?

Right????
We would also be going to Disney After Hours Boo Bash. Danielle would be coming with us after she got off work.
Can't wait!

Love reading this report
Thank you and :welcome:

I was hesitant to post our trip reports from December 2022 and April 2023, but now I'm not so hesitant. Not sure I will, but this thread gives me hope that I will not be made fun and that people will still read despite it being almost a year old.

Please start a report and let me know. I think every trip report has something new to share.

I'm so far behind in my trip reporting that they are all old reports now.

You could take an Uber
You could take a cab
You could rent a car

I'm too cheap.

You could take bikes (suck it up, Michelle!)

Don't think Disney would approve.

I should stop now, huh?

You really should.

You could walk.
You could jog.

Not sidewalks, again Disney would not approve.

You could hire a rickshaw.

Didn't see any.

You could hire a hot air balloon.

Sadly the one in DS only goes up and down and not around.

Don't look so shocked. I mean... If Tink is gonna hang out anywhere, it's gonna be at Disney.

:tink:

Those booths are like a siren's call.

Yes they are!

You're LA is showing. I wonder how many others would call them that. I'd call that a Stock Pot.

I'm pretty sure that's what they are. The sign before the pots showed Gumbo. Remy is French after all.

Then she needs to come up here. Well... not "here", where I live, but over there in Quebec.

We would both love to see Canada.

I thought you were going to say a cronut!

I would still be looking. I don't think they have been spotted there for a long time.

Like this shot. Big sister proud of little sister. :goodvibes

She really is!

Whoa, that sounds good.

Best sweet I had.

Huh! I had avoided this as I thought it would be too heavy... Should've stuck with my original thought. (Had it on my list.)

The portion size is too small to be too heavy. We got this in September and Danielle went back later that night and got it again.

It's a Southern saying.

Like this shot. :)

Thank you!

Really! I had no idea they were doing that.

They were totally doing it.

Oh? Why not?

:duck:

Skating on thin ice again.

Wish they had how to pronounce them too.
I have no idea, but guessing Mi Chiamo sounds nothing like how I'm pronouncing it in my head.

I don't know for sure. I was told once by someone of Italian heritage that every vowel is pronounced. The don't blend are drop the vowels like the English language.

Never got the chance to see it. Ah well. It's Forever, right?

Right?

Right????

:rotfl:

Can't wait!

I'm so glad I now have a true MNSSHP to compare it to.

Life Update

We're down to 52 sleeps until we'll be in Disney. I made it through our ADR day without any hiccups. I really only wanted 2 meals so that was easy. The Candlelight Processional meal was my big stress. The window to start making reservations opened up the day before my 60 day window opened. We all know how well Disney IT works when something this big drops. My ADR day went a lot smoother than everyone trying to make reservations the day before. We did get some bad new from Danielle. She had asked for vacation for the 5 days we would be there, including the day we leave. She has the time but one leader had already asked for the month of December off and another leader was taking off to bond with there new child. She has the Tuesday and Wednesday off as her regular days off. We really need her to have the Monday off too. We're traveling on the Sunday and Thursday so there aren't as big a deal. Her proprietor asked her what days were the most important and Danielle told her Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Fingers crossed she gets that one extra day. If she doesn't get it we'll have to make some adjustments.

I think I mentioned that I finally talked Dennis into leaving a day early and making part of the drive. We plan to leave around 1 pm on the Saturday and drive to Tallahassee. We have a reservation for a Holiday Inn Express. I know I said I would not try to drive that far again after the September 2021 trip, but we're leaving a lot earlier in the day. This will make our drive on Sunday so much better and give us more time to enjoy the resort. This also technically means we have 51 more sleeps until we leave.

Danielle received her special Disney 100 name tag. There were given to the CMs as a gift. They won't be wearing them. They were also given a print of the "photo" taken of the characters in front of the Animation Studio from the short. She has already told me I can have it! I'm so excited. I have a few prints on the walls in my craft/office room now and this will be perfect.
Her nametag.
1698460478014.png
This is the wall I'll put my new print on.
1698460807624.png

I think I'll put it above the others.

Danielle also sent us a picture of the Christmas Tree for DHS parked in the cast parking lot. It's on 2 big trailers and in several pieces. Disney is setting up their decorations trying to get ready for Jollywood Nights. She also said she will be working some of the parties and she knows she'll be at the first party. I'm hoping that means I'll catch a glimpse of her from the influencers that will be there. She's a leader for Backlot Express but they also cover Dockside Dinner and Epic Eats. Backlot won't be open for the party but Dockside and Epic will. She said she has training for the party on Monday. She sounded excited about it. She listed several funnel cakes that will be available for the party and they will be the small size like Epcot has for festivals. She said it will be like a mini festival. If anyone is going to a party please keep an eye out for her. I know there is a party on the Monday night we'll be there but I'm not ready to put that much money out for it. She has really been trying to sell us on going. It also makes me really worried she won't get that day off.

It's a busy time of the year for everyone. Halloween is next week. Thanksgiving is less than a month away and then it's Christmas right behind that. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween.

Getting all caught up here this Saturday morning. Great updates- photos and food look gorgeous as always. Your dishes from Canada/ Outpost sound right up my alley 😋. Love the photo of Danielle working behind Michelle.
Crossing my fingers Danielle gets her time off with you 🤞🤞🤞. Not long until you’re in your way to see your girl 🥰

We didn't spend much time in Future World, believe it or not we were hungry again and wanted to try some of the F&W booths that were in World Showcase. I did get some more pictures of Remy and Emile as we made our way towards WS.
F&W booths are fun!
We backtracked to The Noodle Exchange so Leah could get the Tofu Pho with Enoki Mushrooms and Thai Basil. I don't know much about Pho but she said she didn't like it. I think it was too spicy for her.
It is so spicy! Jack loved it but it was too much for me.
And the most important goal we were looking for was Danielle. She was working here as the fry cook. When Danielle said she wanted to do the College Program Dennis use to joke with her that she was taking her college degree to make fries. We had to send him a picture of just that.
She's working her way up!
All work is good work. I think you learn something from every type of job you do that helps you in your next job. Plus when you do the less popular jobs it helps you have empathy and compassion for people who do those jobs all the time.
After all that food we were finally "full as a tick on a seven day lick". It was time to walk off some of it. We made our way to Norway to ride Frozen. The night was looking just a beautiful as the day had been.
Love WS evenings!
We made our way back to the beginning of WS and picked a spot to watch Epcot Forever. Danielle had been raving about it. She loved it for all the nostalgia of the old Epcot attractions. She also heard it every night while working so she knew it by heart. She wasn't with us but we did enjoy the show.
It is a really lovely show.

Definitely do a report! I agree with Vanessa, every report has something to offer.
Her proprietor asked her what days were the most important and Danielle told her Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Fingers crossed she gets that one extra day. If she doesn't get it we'll have to make some adjustments.
Crossing my fingers for Danielle's vacation to be approved.
This will make our drive on Sunday so much better and give us more time to enjoy the resort. This also technically means we have 51 more sleeps until we leave.
Great plan!
This is the wall I'll put my new print on.
Nice!

You really should.
Sadly the one in DS only goes up and down and not around.
I'm pretty sure that's what they are. The sign before the pots showed Gumbo. Remy is French after all.
Ah! But gumbo is not French. Yes the French Canadian settlers who were displaced to LA may lay claim to it now, but the word is actually of African origin. You won't find Gumbo in France, unless you find a South USA restaurant... maybe.
We would both love to see Canada.
C'mon up! We have snow already.

<sigh>
I would still be looking. I don't think they have been spotted there for a long time.
I had a feeling that was the case. Too bad.
The portion size is too small to be too heavy. We got this in September and Danielle went back later that night and got it again.
Again! It must be good!
It's a Southern saying.
I'm learning so much!
Skating on thin ice again.
:lmao:
I don't know for sure. I was told once by someone of Italian heritage that every vowel is pronounced. The don't blend are drop the vowels like the English language.
I know that Bene is pronounced something like Ben-nay, so that makes sense.
I made it through our ADR day without any hiccups.
Good!
Her proprietor asked her what days were the most important and Danielle told her Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Fingers crossed she gets that one extra day. If she doesn't get it we'll have to make some adjustments.
Hope she gets it.
Danielle received her special Disney 100 name tag. There were given to the CMs as a gift. They won't be wearing them.
Think I saw that on her IG post? Very nice. :)
They were also given a print of the "photo" taken of the characters in front of the Animation Studio from the short.
Oh! Nice! I really enjoyed that little short.
Danielle also sent us a picture of the Christmas Tree for DHS parked in the cast parking lot. It's on 2 big trailers and in several pieces.
Cool. :)

Yay for your upcoming trip! I’m really excited to get a trip in again in December! This is a wonderful time in the World!
I hope Danielle will get Monday off!
The Jollywood party sounds interesting! I think more of an upscale after hour situation. Do you get anything free? Like popcorn or ice cream treats?
There isn’t one while we are there! I am hoping to do an after hours event in early February when Andi and I head back.
It will be a different trip because I think we will be staying at Universal the whole time and only spend a few days at Disney! Yikes, mostly because we both have AP at Universal and I only have AP at Disney!

Your trip is coming up soon! I hope Danielle can get that Monday off. Jollywood sounds interesting, but it's got a big price tag.
The Disney 100 name tag is very cool.

Your evening at Epcot with the F&G booths sounds successful. The dishes from Hawaii and Canada looked really good.
Kind of a bummer that if one person in the boat didn't wear their mask, everyone was penalized. Ah well, guess that's a moot point now. :confused3

Getting all caught up here this Saturday morning. Great updates- photos and food look gorgeous as always.
Thank you! We spent Saturday and JP's Cub Scout Family Camp Out. Dennis stayed with him Friday and Saturday night and Michelle stayed on Saturday night. I was a day guest and left with Dominic and Gabriel. I'm still tired.

Your dishes from Canada/ Outpost sound right up my alley 😋.

We need to meet and eat together one F&W.

Crossing my fingers Danielle gets her time off with you 🤞🤞🤞. Not long until you’re in your way to see your girl
Thank you! I'm really worried she won't get the Monday off since it's a party night. She was excited about the party until she saw her schedule for the first week of parties. They have her scheduled for 50+ hours and she'll be working until 3:30 am one day.
