We went on 10/13 and had a lot of fun. Re: treats, we did all 3 trails at the toontown pre-party which completely filled the little bags. Fortunately a CM at one of the stores near IASW gave us some large clear bags to use so for the rest of the night DD used the little bag but dumped her treats into ours when it got past 1/2 full and eventually we poured everything we could into my backpack since it was easier to carry on our backs.
Did not have as much luck at ride times before or during the party. After pre-party we wanted to ride IASW but it was down. During the pre-hours many rides were down when we got there - fortunately we still had a 3 day ticket w MP for the rest of our trip and MP made up for our lack of rides during the party. Around 5 we gave up on rides and stood in a long line to be let into the pre-party. Fortunately I bought the book DD7 and I have been reading together which passed the time nicely. We are not line waiting people (we walk up to parades 5 min before they start) but this was ok.
We were able to go on Pooh and Pirates during the party, watched the parade, walked over to stand about 20 ft from the Walt Statue for a perfect view of the fireworks w/ orb (DD7 stood on a bench next to us). Cadaver Dan's was one of the highlights for us but loved the overall ambiance w/ all the projections, happy people in costume and so forth during the party. Definitely felt crowded though. DD was exhausted after the fireworks so we left at that point as we wanted to go to the 7AM magic morning the next day which we did make .
btw our strategy to eat the healthy stuff in between candy worked well. We still ended up with a dozen or so carrot packets and apple slice packets which I put in the hotel room fridge and brought a few each day to the parks along with other treats (chips, crackers, candy). We still came home with enough candy for 2 halloween's worth of trick or treaters. Fortunately DD's b-day party is coming up and now I know what will be going in the pinata!
