Fibromyalgia, ECV and rollercoasters

Btroyi, getting an ECV from a private company is definitely the way to go! I don't know if all companies do this but the company my sister uses delivers it to your hotel. If you would like me find out which company she uses let me know and I will ask her. It was so conveinent. The company also picked it up on the day we checked out. She has an extra large and a little heavier poncho that fits over her and the ECV so both stay dry. :smooth:

These are the companies that DIS posters report renting from:
Care Medical:

Phone (407) 856-2273 • Toll Free U.S and Canada (800) 741-2282

Walker Mobility:

RANDY'S Mobility is in Kissimmee 407-892-4777

Colonial Medical

(800)747-0246

http://www.scootaround.com/ Not much feedback. Several people who reported they had no problems.

They will all deliver to and pick up from your WDW hotel. The 3 most often mentioned are Care, Randy's and Walker. Walker and Care will deliver to the hotel when you are not there. Randy's requires that you be there for pick up and delivery.

I agree with McCall. If using my power chair lets me enjoy the parks without pain then I really don't care what others think. When I am in a flare, I am in pain even if I look wonderful. I figure I am fortunate that I can still work.
Use the ECV and enjoy your trip. Especially the roller coasters. I love most of them and will ride them if I am without DH. He hates them.

OCDPlanner, my sister also reminded me that you have to change over to a manual wheelchair on SM.

Hi Everyone:

This is Vicki, Laurel's Sister. I need to call someone to rent an ECV this week for our trip in July. So far I have used Care Medical and Randy's. Both were great! If you need an ECV USE IT!! Without renting I know I would not be able to go.

Vicki G. aka Daisimae
P.S. Laurel aka LCJones70 and Lisa aka Talking Hands, say "HI", to each other. You will both be at Jubilee!

Remember you are going to need the ECVs for Jubilee. That convention hall is huge. Yes I will be at Jubilee. Look for a curly haired lady in a purple Jazzy wheelchair.

What is Jubilee?

And It took me YEARS to agree to use the wheelchair that I needed. I didn't do it until I realized that my daughter was suffering for my pride. I couldn't allow that, besides how could I teach her to be okay with her disabilities if I wasn't ok with mine.....

Jubilee is a convention of Tupperware consultants. Vicki, her sister and I all sell Tupperware. It is in Orlando at the convention center this year.
