Hilton Head

2006 will be our first time going to Hilton Head. Part of our family will be flying in from Manchester NH. Do you know what airports would be near Hilton Head?

The closest major airport is Savannah, GA- about a 45 minute drive away.

There is a small airport on HH that uses commuter service from Savannah and Charlotte. It is about 15 minutes away from the resort.

I'd suggest Savannah, since you'll want a car anyway at the resort.

You can also fly directly onto HH via USAir, coming through Charlotte first. The airport at HH is small, so you end up traveling the last leg in those smaller sized planes.

Depending on circumstances (or aversion to small planes), your next best bet is Savannah.

You might also want to check Charleston (SC), Columbia (SC), and Jacksonville (FL). They're a little farther away (2-3 hours drive), but sometimes the savings in airfare and/or rental car rates makes the drive worthwhile.
